About this project: I am writing a weekly sci-fi story to the theme of Isaac Arthur’s SFIA videos. It’s a crazy challenging timeframe to create a good short story in, and to do so publicly is even more daunting. An excellent tale...a guy I went to high school with did maintenance/security for some local upper class rich types, and has a lot of interesting stories...this Misfits tale reminds me of that.

I didn't know it at the time, but meeting all types of people from all types of backgrounds in all types of places was just the education I needed. There were some uber-wealthy people in that mix. I'm going to get to maps at some point, whether it's myself or my second technique is just to keep writing the stories until they grow enough that the right person finds them and does it right. I have to say one of the nicest things I've seen happen this year is seeing your channel here start to take off. I like to imagine that we humans possess a good sorting mechanism over time -- it's a core tenant of optimism, and optimism is our single best super power. Yet here was your incredible writing (and deep knowledge about writing!) free for the listening, and painfully under subscribed. I was bewildered. There is nothing wrong with being a small force in the big world, heck most of us here are. But it's important to feel that we'll all soar in our moment, and this is clearly your moment.
I will be gifting these books to friends and family, and I would highly encourage anyone reading this to do the same. And spread the word. With a few thousand little pushes, 2024 will be the year that the characters and storytelling of P.E. Rowe breaks into the consciousness of the wider world -- and soars. People have had a rough few years, we owe them this.

The characters get better each time, their like old souls, rich in experiences, and moral dilemas. And the paralells to real life, politics, and how hard it is to survive and maintain any ethics. All set across the universe. As usual, cant wait for the next installments, but take all the time you need as they are worth waiting for. 😊

Remember almost a year ago when I started to listen to the Misfits after having listened to most of your repertoire? I posted an 'out-of-place' question as I was trying to figure out Transom. I was imagining a,Woody Harrelson/ Matthew McConaughey-like military type as I couldn't quite place the character. So, after going through all of your stories, I listened to some Misfit arc stories but not chronologically(making playlists was a very pleasing an necessary idea). I told you once I love your cosmically, aeon spanning stories the most, like "Dancing with the Universe". Transom felt different and archetypal in a Hollywood-esque way, unlike any other character you write. I remember that I was baptizing your Oeuvre as Kappaverse(it was my first Letter in the Battery) and you came up with 'Transomverse'. That's when I understood how much you were into this character, I thought deviated from your emerging and state of the Art storytelling. These last months I began listening to the Misfits from the beginning as intended on your playlist: EVERYTHING that made me love your stories -all the best ellements are there- AI-turned gods and the female Misfit godesses like Ship(Ricci?) and Verona. I know them all by name phonetically but I listen to your stories so I don't want to make a mistake. I truly love the Misfits and surprisingly, I think you use Transom as a straight-forward vehicle to drive intricate and complex stories into Eternity. I'm really enjoying each Misfit, having two or three favourites. But it was imperative to listen to the Misfit arc as you linked them in your playlist. To my surprise you go cosmic and span aeons in ways I wasn't expecting, surpassing even some of your best work. The Misfits really take my mind farther into the depths of the dark energy that expands the Universe in ways our minds arent meant to comprehend. What's after Eternity and beyond the unstretched Expanse? That's where you're taking me every week and I thank you for sharing your intellect in the form of these amazing stories.
Oh, yeah, Holzman! I was just thinking I hadn't heard from you in a little while. Honestly, this past year has taught me a lot, the most important of which is that this journey isn't mine alone to direct. The thoughtful feedback from you and many others I definitely consider a synergistic force, both motivating me to keep expanding this storyworld's universe and my efforts to channel it. What you described as the Misfits seeming to make more sense and expand the universe, I think, echoes the process I went through each episode, so it makes sense that reading/listening in order helps that feeling come across. I am not planning on hard plotting the next season, because I want to keep the feel of that growing synergy as the series continues, but I do have some ideas ... and I think the mysteries will deepen 😃Thanks for being a part of the synergy of this crazy adventure!
After some time for reflection, it hit me how powerful it was for you to reference Omelas in this story which is the culmination for this powerful year of stories. To call back to one of the most profound sci-fi short stories ever in such a meaningful way was spectacular.

Madness in my method…..it takes me three four or even five audio listens to soak up each ep! I listen at night tucked up in bed……..rarely get past the twenty minute mark….each night a bit more until I find an hour during the day to get the full ep. By this time I know the set up of the story thoroughly and can enjoy the concluding chapters…….not sure why I felt I had to share that, a break from the awful events in the holy lands I suppose. All that bile focused on other people when we can look around and see paradise, this earth being the ultimate space ship with everything we will ever need…..crazy.merry Xmas one and all 🙏

Interesting! I think Carolina is showing some of the deeper colours of her class-driven upbringing… I wonder if that may cause a lot of friction especially with Transom. Poor chap isn’t going to live this episode down anytime soon…(!) The deeper the story gets towards the core of the force driving the war I wonder on what kind of hold the core has over everyone in power… looking forward to seeing how all this advances, awesome as ever Mr. Rowe and Happy New Year!

I'm not totally sure to be honest 🤔 It sounded right when I wrote Archaeolgix, which was the first story she appeared in, probably to draw a contrast in culture between her people and Burch's out in the Lettered Systems. Also, I've lived with a lot of Europeans over the years (Spanish/Italian), so that hard -ee sound for the -i also sounds very natural to me. I can see how it might sound funny to a Carolinian, though 😂
