37 years in the HVAC business and I never did work on window units much……I always found the easiest way to repair them when they start acting up is……raise the window real fast……and then shut it!😁 Then go to Walmart……
Use to be a time people would service these. But they cost so little yet usually last so long people just don't bother. Why pay someone 200 to take it apart and clean it properly and replace a capacitor when you can just buy a new one?
I bought two 10K btu window units in 2013, $269 each at the time from HD. I think the unit you got is quieter than mine. Mine do cool the house good though.

and some other bottom is rusted out
what should I do
@@vacuumcarfanguy you can repaint it, patch small holes with bondo. If it's a common AC and rusted badly, I'd just give up on it.

i have one like this with R22 but the fan barely spins and the compressor makes a humming noise.

I have two of them. Find you a remote, if you really want one. The vent likes to drop and face down. Just keep it clean and it'll run.

I can't figure out the model from a photo. They look pretty similar for years, maybe the control panel is slightly different.
