- This is a quick video that addresses something I found to be somewhat somewhat difficult to find how to, but with some help from the 303 community I figured it out and wanted to pass this on to help others.

that's dope thank you man appreciate it :D
glad to help :)
Hi, is there a way to delete a rhythm part, say hats? Or do I need to micro edit? Thanks
I don't have my unit anymore, but I'm pretty sure in the drum mode it works the same way, you just hold down the particular drum you want to erase. so just get into the erase mode and if the hats you want to remove any time to press the hats button it will erase until you let go or if you hold long enough of course it will completely vanish.
THANK YOU The manual does not say that you have to have it playing in record mode to erase 🫠
no problem! glad it was helpful :)
The whole machine is a quirky illogical thing....I love to hate mine as it could really be great.
The most annoying is in normal mode it only uses one midi channel....
You can set machine to be a sound module ...but for some unexplained reason in that mode u can't use any buttons.
yea i enjoyed it but ultimately didn't keep it too long. as time goes on, i'm more fond of having more things that do very few things really well and not machines that pack a lot in one device. this was like that where you have to really spend time to learn the nuances like you mentioned. still a new device. i made sure to sample it before selling it.
@@8bitwidgets I have mc909...it is truly a great machine Imo...i just use my mc303 on its own midi group..which is pain as for some reason they made it respond to all channels inputed.
@@fozbeeMusic yea a buddy of mine has a 909 and it is a really remarkable machine for sure. just for my own workflow and limited time in the studio.. it's why i got rid of my K2500R.. i maxed that baby out with everything.. and in the end opted to just sell it because while KDFX sound great and it can do so much i just knew i'd never have the time to really get into it with so many other options around. it would just go largely underused.. my JV-1080 is pretty much the only exception and that's mostly just because it's still pretty easy to move around in through presets and sounds amazing. Even then i generally just use it as a single instrument at ant given time.
@@8bitwidgets yes jv1080 is lush. ...have one with a few cards in it.
@@fozbeeMusic indeed. amazing sound for an entirely digital synth.. i mean a really nice filter in that thing from my experience.. yea i have the vintage synth / voices / orchestra 1 / orchestra 2 in it.. i might consider replacing one of the orchestral chords with classic keyboards one.. but we'll see. bigger fish to fry for now :)
Hey for some reason when i hold shift and erase it doesn't enter erase mode but only the transpose mode as if im not holding shift? I know my shift button works for other features
sorry to hear that. i wish i could offer some help but i no longer have this piece of gear to test it. check gearspace forums. I bet someone there could offer some suggestions. good luck!
Appreciate the super speedy response, thanks tho!!

Hello budy, how are you? my mentronom is either on or off, I wanted it to call when I rec. help
To call when you record? You mean you only want to hear the metronome while in recording mode? That should be the behavior by default.
@@8bitwidgets yes that but mine is connected directly or without metronome. if you press SCALE / MEASURE it will turn on or off but I wanted it to only turn on when I went to record, weird
djbonne1 yea not sure. Don’t have the unit anymore. But good luck on your search!
Fanks
glad to help :)
@@8bitwidgets my moms friend just gave me his old one. Perfect timing the sounds r amazing and I was using the op1 for a couple of months. But sometimes when I’m trynna record on the MC it says error. U kno how to get around. Got a lonnggg time till I’m rockin this thing.
@@leonidaspapu3912 I wish I did. Might have a bad backup battery? Or something could be wrong with the RAM inside it.. that said it could still be a fantastic external sound module if there are issues with the internal sequencer.. I'd start with the battery which is likely a user replaceable 2032 battery somewhere.
