For eg., I barely spend $30-40 on the metro every month and my personal expenses would be around $3000-4000. If you choose not to buy an iPad/Macbook when you get here, your Books and Supplies are barely anything. Students typically pay around $1200-$1400 per month for rent and another $300 for groceries + utilities. So that should be about $18,000 for a year. So yeah, it's completely up to you.
