Hey, just hold on a minute, I am a rude, undeserving owner that isn't a top man, but I do own a 1998 Mazda 323 that deserves a new life. The family car since 'ever', it's got genuine 140k miles, always looked after, never 'dogged' ie driven with consideration, a beautiful sweet engine , minor cosmetic scratches like you might expect on a 24 year old vehicle, major welding probably necessary underneath. It would break my heart to send this car to be crushed, it does not deserve such a low demise? Anybody, got €50, take it away but for 'eff's sake, use the engine.
Oh yes, I did describe myself as rude, so you can just fuck off royally you crowd of pricks.

@@bananasstuff3344 cars still going strong. Loves this cold air we are having. Recovery is still on track. Unfortunately surgery maybe needed next year, as I've only gained 10% back in height on T1. So still a 40% loss in height, which after 18mnths is an issue... keep'em crossed!

Just an idea, but maybe they could setup a Patreon through which they can fund these. I'd love to give something to a fellow car guy/girl having a shitty time. (A bit similar to how Dr Mike has a Patreon that donates all monthly funds to a charity chosen by the patreons)

I agree, my specialist says mind distraction is a huge painkiller. I never got what he meant until I noticed I hadn't been in any pain for a few hours, until I sat down for 5mins, then it all came flooding back! only then I believed what my specialist said.

I have worked similar jobs as James and those van ramps can be very dodgy in the wet, known people I work with to do the same thing.
But he now has a reason to smile a bit now and also gets this vid to look back on and see what was done to his pride and joy.

I had an 04 R50 with an auto and even with an automatic and only 115HP it was a riot to drive! They’re great fun!
This is what I love about car community, everyone comes together to get someone's car back up running safely to the road. Like that when the rim/wheel shop did the rims for free just because they knew that they can make someone's life so much better what it was..

Whatever this episode holds - it's so nice seeing people working on the cars 'we' want to see and helping others. To often (now I've noticed) that of course a youtube gets wealthy - so then they get a better car - so then they're just showing us hyper car/super cars again - which is the same as everyone else.
Nothing is more unique than individuals and their rides - and your humour is awesome. So if you take your awesome abilities, everyone in the UK that's having a hard time with a rough/unique car - heck - you've got an endless series. (providing I guess that each video makes you more than the cost to fix someone's car :))

Went through the same when I was 13, have had flashbacks throughout my life 24 now and still suffer but it does get better! Glad you've had your family and car throttle have helped make some amends to your bad situation.
The flashbacks are real bro. I get irritated by loud bangs or anything that jump scares me. Takes me back to the day I did it.. mental health is no joke!

Public service announcement : James mentioned it briefly but (as someone who has gone through a traumatic injury) if you or a loved one go through something like that, make sure you or they sit down with a pro to talk things through. We all like to be the big tough men, but (speaking from experience) there are things that happen they you or they can't talked to loved ones about, dying or a traumatic injury leaves you with mental scars, get the help.

Guys what you've done here is utterly fantastic. Our connection to a car and those memories with the ones we love are precious, and you've restored those and a car, top job guys, top job. Having been in a similar situation and not been able to save my car I absolutely loved that you were able to help someone else. I'm lucky enough to be able to have a Motability car now, but I really miss having a car that is truly my own. Another car saved, and a deserving chap made happy! Loved it!

For anybody else doing those bushes at the rear of the
A arms, just drop the whole front subframe, makes it much easier and change the anti roll bar bushes and inner ball joints at the same time . Also more space to change the driveshaft too .
Great to see people helped out when they need it. Awesome job on the car. A bit more complicated than my original minis, you could swap out the engine on a Saturday. Mind you, you drove it Monday to Friday and repaired it Saturday and Sunday.

Oh shit, this hit home on so many fronts. If you read this James; Stay strong. I know how you feel and almost what you are going through. Talking to people, being open about the mental strain and how much things are going through your head is key to recovery. I pray you recover as close to 100% as you can. You'll never be like before, that's what we have to life with. But you'll grow stronger as a person when you're at the other end of the tunnel. Stay strong and Godspeed James.
I'm glad that message has reached out. Speak out. Talk to people. Don't keep everything bottled up. Mental health is more important than we realise. From anxiety to depression, trauma or loss. Lifes a struggle. But when we are tested we become stronger. Sticking together and talking changes your outlook. No one is alone!
