You can ride an elevator like that right now in St. Louis, MO USA just by getting a ticket to go up in the Arch. It would need redesigning to make it faster and more smooth, but it basically just starts climbing like any elevator then starts going up then over kind of like it’s climbing stairs.
True. I’m from St. Louis. At the top of the Gateway Arch the small elevator tilts then straightens up again then tilts again then straightens up again. It keeps doing that until there is no more curve.
This tower would replace the Twin Towers as defining the NYC skyline. Everyone in the world that never visited would know it's NY . Just like the WTC identified the NY skyline.

Please Google a picture of it and you will immidiatly realize that the elevators in the towers „legs“ had to be constructed diagonally.
Also, NYC has a rule stating no building can go past a certain height, and in this case length. The rule was instated due to tragic past events, so this building is likely never going to happen
That has to be stopped. That is incredibly fugly and would ruin the skyline. The already existing skinny billionaire buildings are an eyesore but that is 10x as bad.
That would cost so much to build because of the simple fact that there would be very little usable floor space. The columns would have to be massive and many of the stories would be empty to allow air flow through the building. Something about just because you can doesn’t mean you should. Oh and for the love of god, account differential displacement in the foundation design.
There’s this novel called recursion where an architect designs this exact building in this exact spot if I’m not mistaken. It’s a minor part of the overall plot but that just goes to show that they must have been thinking about this for a while. It was playing with the idea of alternate timelines so that never came to be.
That would actually be AWESOME in the skyline. Such a unique design. It gets boring seeing the same old buildings. But I really hope in the next century there’s a renaissance of architecture. Last century was so lazy and bland.
