  • Words cannot describe how much sorrow I feel for the poorest people in western society. Completely letdown, both socially, and economically, large swaths of society today are left to rot in a state that I like to refer to as "decadence".
In this episode of The Enemy Explained, I'll be explaining the psychological mindset of decadency, how it came to be, and what could be done to lift people out of such physical, mental, and spiritual poverty.

Rampant individualism has provided people in the western world with the illusion that freedom is the ultimate virtue, and thus, if everyone is just left to their own devices, everything will work out in the end. Naturally, this isn’t the case, especially in times of economic consolidation.
A large and ever increasing slice of the population cannot just be allowed to linger in pitiful conditions and expect no wider consequences. Western leaders are so divorced from their actions that they don’t understand the consequences of them.
Sadly, from what I can see, this intellectually lazy libertarian fantasy is also commonplace amongst the average person as well, so perhaps, at least for now, we have the leaders we deserve.

I don't know a single friend or family member from my generation who has a child with the person they are married to. I know women who cry on social media about how hard it is to raise a child as a single mom, and yet they didn't try and work things out with the father of the child (if they even know how it is), and when they are dating someone new, they either use the guy for money and resources or they can't give enough attention because the child takes priority, so the guy dumps them.
Traditional roles existed because they worked, but now people think they know better, and so they are quickly learning, that it is a cruel and lonely world when you don't have someone to help you in life.

    • @AlexHexagon
      @AlexHexagon  Před rokem +25

A large issue is that the meaning of marriage in modern western society has been largely forgotten.
The 1960’s brought both the introduction of no fault divorce, which removed the “til death due us part” part of marriage, as well as the hippie social norms that followed, which ceased it to be a gatekeeper to reproduction. Ultimately, both devolving marriage into what it is today: an empty event, devoid of most meaning.
Marriage is now often treated as this day of raw celebration, whereby people declare their love for one another publicly, and can get drunk, eat cake, and dance. But ultimately, marriage is not just pomp with no circumstance, it is intended to be a lifelong financial contract and a declaration of family creation as an insurance policy for the next generation.
The only true way to return meaning to marriage, and by proxy fix the family unit, is the reversal of the damage caused in the 1960’s: reiterating a certain permanence to marriage, and an en masse acceptance of the dangerous consequences of rampant recreational intercourse.
Until these reversals are done en masse, societal decay in the western world will only continue, whereby everyone suffers as a result.

Where do you live? I live in the Upper Midwest and know tons of people in their 20s getting married and having children. There are, of course, many children born out of wedlock as well, but it is far from a cultural norm. And there are also a lot of people who are divorced, but most people seem to at least try to start a family the right way. Perhaps it is much worse in other regions of the US. Places like NYC and LA are so far removed from my everyday life that they are like foreign countries to me.

I've been attempting to describe something very similar. I say: Society now rewards social status and thus people pursue social status, at the expense of those around them. They pursue social status, over merit, because if they were to compete on merit and competence, they have none to speak of. By depriving those with merit, desire for competence and self improvement, and no desire for status or wealth, of their natural competition, they demoralize anyone with the capacity to do good, because they will never be allowed to achieve, as they would then become a threat to the status seekers.

I unfortunately had to visit San Francisco this weekend and it was a total eye opener to how horrible the homeless population is there. Most if not all were also in the zombie like state you mentioned in the video called "the dope fiend lean".
The "dope fiend lean" is when a person has severe respiratory depression from excessive heroin use. Users "nod out" by an automatic reaction that forces a conscious user under the influence to involuntarily fall asleep. If someone is standing when this occurs, they are basically falling asleep while awake. What causes them to be hunched over instead of just falling is because they are still semi-conscious. This causes the person to exert enough force to remain standing.
Truly a depressing site and people just turn a blind eye to it all there. Bright lights and fancy buildings all surrounded by the lowest of the low. Praying for the healing of the west.

Minor addendum, you're never "fully cured" from addiction you learn the underlying root causes for your addiction and work to understand and overcome them you gain the understanding that your life is better now and your self control grows as well but the side effects and symptoms don't completely leave you. I've been sober from painkillers for 13 years now and I've spent a lot of time helping others such as the homeless and the disillusioned vets who turn to drugs and alcohol to ignore their problems as they go through the difficult process of getting clean. You can get clean and sober and stay that way but addiction leaves it's mark on you that will never fully go away. Thinking of addiction as an all or nothing situation works to hurt people going through rehabilitation as they come to think of it as "I still have cravings and withdrawals it must mean I'm not making any progress maybe I'm a lost cause" and instead of being able to see their progress they feel defeated.

Honestly, it's not just those two (although I argue that both Redditors and Breadtubers technically starts the influencing spheres to even supported by both NGOs of both-profits and non-profit sectors of specific neoliberal stripes), but of internet streamers, contentious video essayists and social media influencers in general, those who pertains to uphold values, only to bend it to their whim the moment they got a lot of wealth and social clouts among other kinds of tractions from it
And worse of all, some of these are often less visible and varies in different abstractions and forms according to each influencers' desires (much like of Trailokya division works in Buddhism), each influencers are pretty much stands like gods in Buddhism, they enact pretentions of authorities, replacement of father-figures while often juxtapose dialectic authorities based of what they think is right without enacting any good actions asides from at most lousy demonstrations, internet beefs and petty dramas on the more leftist side, whereas on the more rightist side, it's mostly heralded by the more "libertarian right" influencers which also shifts according to their own desires, although being even more honest at being selfish, equally progressive yet financially conservative, both liberal left and libertarian right intersects in both strands of Neoconservatism and Neoliberalism under increasingly more individualistic issues, less of constructive collective problem-solving, then shoves all the weights and carriages to mostly individuals, this is why you'll see youtubers in general are focusing so much at petty dramas, exposing individuals and doing toxic behaviours for either egotism to downright internet-money leeching self-centeredness
These individualistic influencers on the internet (and even on television back in the 80s to early 2000s) are lacking cultural standards on how to judge good from bad, have little concerns for the less fortunate (even demonising them if they could use it as their rhetorical ammunitions), neo-tribalism in the sense that it's using football mentality at picking political parties, jumbles in between whose the best or lesser evil of all legacy medias, internet tech giants being uphold to little credence with increasingly more complicated patchworks of regulations that eventually law firms of multinational corporations can find loopholes to rapes the poor and downtrodden further, it is systematic beyond just capitalism, it's materialism, individualism, cynicism and selective apathy muddled in one and squaring those whose powerless to be easily shoved into specific ghetto alleys among these chavs, it's the outmost terribly stagnating to declining types of the current systems that now fuelled further by political correctness, Critical Race Theory, intersectionality, etc that if you're even poor, once you talk something insensitive, then not even a lick of percentage chance supports are provided for you
Hence it's ultimately being manufactured fatalism and nihilism at it's worst, broken people are robbed the chances to be fixed, mended and rejuvenated into productive and generative members of society, only for such selective neglects and stigmas bites them once these poor broken people snaps and done even worse crimes, sometimes, it's not just the rich and elites that are fault, but also the way society at large are easily swayed due to them being lacking critical thinking over what they've done and being dishonest about it, thinking "personal responsibilities" being their easy card to get out, then once controversies subjected to them, they change masks and pretend to the authorities that they uphold virtues (despite they're not), blatant hypocrisies, which further giving even more layers of shields to the social and financial elites and their influencer cronies

This is what needs to be done, and you should start, teach people how to make their own Cultures, Tribes and Races. It's not that hard, all people need to do is make a list of the types of:
    1. Architecture they Like
    2. Diet they like
    3. Fashion they like
    4. Plants, Trees and Animals they like(to maintain a specific ecosystem tailored to their tribe)
    5. Music and Instruments they like
    6. They should construct a language
    7. Sports and Fitness regimen they like
    8. Philosophies they like(Morals are just shared likes and dislikes made Holy and Unholy, Laws are just likes and dislikes made mandatory)
    9. etc.
Then, they should all open a shared bank, put about 20-30 percent or more, use that money to relocate to the same area, buy equipment to produce goods they need for themselves then only in group breed(so the evolve into a distinct genetic line and race)
Not that hard. Collectivism + Creativity = Cultural Engineering and Racial Engineering this is where high EQ + high IQ takes you...
Economics and Wealth isn't about money its about peoples ability to gather resources or produce resources they need to keep their culture going and giving away the excess or what you don't use(example if your tribe only wears silver but their mines also produce gold they don't use or need, they can give it away to a culture that does wear gold) and this is done if you have a Tribal Custom or Cultural Tradition which gives structure to what should be used and produced and what shouldn't be, this stops waste and pollution.
People should start to see that Cults, Secret Societies, Cabals, Cultures, Subcultures, Tribes, Ethnicities and Religions are all the same thing. Gods and Goddesses are just personifications of the collective consciousness and culture of a specific group.
Culture is a Collective Art Project and Race is the result...
The Philosophies of the Intelligent are: Collectivism, Familialism, Tribalism, Communitarianism, Ethnocentrism(as people in group breed till they become a new race), Ethnopluralism(each Tribe being allowed to stay in their own territories) and Sectarianism(think of how the Amish and Mennonites gather all decenters and help them get set up in a different area with a culture based on their specific likes and dislikes)
Only thing, birth rates would have to be controlled and limited so population doesn't exceed good produced or people become so numerous they become strangers and each Sub Tribe or Sect must maintain the same overall Tribal Customs so they don't evolve into completely different groups where they forget they are cousins and start fighting each other.
Men are supposed tp become Patriarchs and make their personal habits and philosophy into a family tradition which gives women and children the structure and direction they need..

All you proposed situations sound like insane authoritarian measures. This is the problem with collectivists you’ll trample on individual rights and freedoms in the name of the greater good. The problem with this is that as you yourself pointed out our leaders often sell us out and or are incompetent so the amount of devastation they could bring is insane. This kind of thinking is what lead to all great genocides and famines from Hitler to Mao.

Ive recently begun to realise how lucky I’ve been to actually have grown up with parents who are together and actually love each other. Almost all my friends and people I know have parents that aren’t together, or don’t even have dads at all.
Also, if your reading this Alex, I’ve been interested in the Quran for many years and have finally begun reading it, and I have a question. What does shirk actually mean? Most definitions have been rather confusing.

@@crystalvulpine2314 U must be trolling, he claims that disposibles are irreligious, childless folks with little to no property that is capitalism still persists, that they willingly do it on purpose to fuck people over as if it isn't because religion and being a parent comes with its own struggles and conflict if you're a woman, lgbtq or a minority. He isn't far left, hes a social conservative whos using left wing ideas, particularly Marxist theory to justify discrimination against poor people, athiests and childfree folks, as if capitalists like to support those folks, they already have been trying to use/support the status quo with poverty, religion, traditional family ideas and gender roles to control people/prevent people from organising to rise against the capitalists. I don't think you know what you're talking about in terms of this guy's political stance, while I don't disagree the possibility that people can adopt ideas from an entirely different ideology and still be considered leftist, its obvious that hes using these ideas to reinforce his own ideals of why capitalism is here and who we should be blaming.
