Countries that depends on each other (usually) don't wage war against each other. If people can't trade with each other across different countries the state is maybe less depending on other states, but something much worse is going to happen: the citizen is depending on the state. So i find it a bit reductive to think we can, for the price of helping maintain freedom for a very important democracy at the feet of europe against a very agressive foe, to compare sending arms and calling it a 'cash value' that could go elsewhere, despite a cash value to the arms being 'applied' for the sake of having people like us understand in simple terms what the country doing,,, also military budgets (if the 'cash value' is taken from our own military budget) can't simply or easily just be transfered to say,,, energy,,, not without lowering the military budget overall!
