  • SiteGround is one of the top 3 web hosts for WordPress. So how do you make a WordPress website with SiteGround: 70% discount davidutke.com/SG
In this short tutorial video I walk you through the process of setting up a WordPress website with SiteGround from step 1 to step done. We start off by getting a domain name at a domain name registrar. Then we get a shared hosting account at SiteGround and lastly we install WordPress, an SSL certificate, essential plugins and all the pro back end settings you need to know.
    ▬▬
    Some quirks with Siteground
► SiteGround has a starter plugin installed by default which is helps you get setup. But using my tutorial videos you don't need it.
► The SSL certificate must be installed when you're in your dashboard. Then you must activate a forced redirection in your WordPress admin.
    ▬▬
    RESOURCES

Thanks for watching everyone. SiteGround is an excellent host, but they do make the setup process a bit confusing for total newbies.

It’s amazing how much some of our guides ramble and ramble on and ramble, but when it’s time to actually guide us through setting up our website, they run through it once, giggle and drive on! You would think that people would recognize that the companies are constantly tweaking their pages. Therefore, the exact same way that it was when they said it out on the video may have changed a bit!
So, to show just run through it one time, giggle and then tell me a whole bunch of stuff then I don’t need to know, It’s not nearly as effective as Shlomo in down when you were talking about clicking buttons, and where to find those buttons! Thank you

David, really, really informative video, thank you. I had already registered with Namecheap and then chosen Siteground to host, but their action steps didn't mention activating the SSL certificate and their instructions for their "to-do" list harder to follow than watching your video. One comment: I had to stop your video and back up over and over again because you moved so fast through what to do and I couldn't follow what you had just done. But that was just a minor inconvenience; again, this video was just what I needed to get up and running building my website!

both are the same... coz there are some platforms which u like to have...and generally people choose wp instead of drupal, or else.... we can see the other options like "woo, W, drupal, Wp"... so, when u click directly on wp hosting, then u wont see other platform options there.

Thanks so much for your well explained video. Could you please answer a question for me? I have a blog on blogger which I only started because it was part of my online training for the last few months, but also have a website on WordPress and had somebody help me get my WordPress SEO, etc sorted but she has since stopped. I am a total newbie so don't know much about anything online (I know it sounds crazy in this day n age) I now want to move my blog from blogger to WordPress. I realize I would have to purchase a new domain with a similar name as my blog, as I cannot take my domain name with me. Apparently, it belongs to Google. Can I use my existing WordPress site for my second domain or how does it work? And which hosting company works well in Africa? I would so appreciate someone's help PLEASE.

Hopefully a quick question. I made it to the part where you choose a theme and I am suffering from input overload. Do you have a suggestion/recommendation as to the best theme for someone who handcrafts, (physical and digital), and wants to sell the items? I don't want to go the etsy route for obvious reasons, (free shipping really isn't free when they tell you to roll shipping into your product price). However, there is also this annoying thing called sales tax I have to collect and keep track of. Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated! TIA
