So so proud of you. Can’t say it enough. I love you so much ❤️
love you so much bug and could not have done ANY OF THIS without your love and support🤍
this is cool af.
You look good but be honest there was steroids involved
nope, absolutely not. i’ve never done any kind of steroids, TRT, HGH or anything of the sort and i have ZERO desire to try those things. my health and living a well balanced life are massive priorities for me. put in the CONSISTENT HARD WORK and CONTROL WHAT YOU EAT and you’ll be crazy surprised at the results. STAY AFTER IT FAM🔥
Bro I love you too. Lol
Finally, a transformation break down without any nonsense. Pretty much, caloric deficit, and hard work. 2 hrs a day, 6 days a week. Way to set the bar. Results speak for themselves.
Yeah but the intro takes forever
Like he said, dont jump onto 2 hours a day, 6 days a week kinda routine. The main takeaway that I see from this video is to focus on enjoying/embracing the journey than the numbers, coz when we enjoy the journey, we end up having a lot of fun than target based approach. Also, we end up doing better workouts in the long run. Hope this helps @Nik
@@abhinandannuli7574 preach
I was like. Lol the first 5 min was nonsense
And steroids , don’t be fooled
As a medical provider, I’m really impressed that he addressed eating disorders & triggers at the beginning in regards to this video. Actually, he’s the only one that I’ve come across who has.
PS: His wife really did a beautiful job filming; I loved the aesthetics of the video.
"Medical provider" ... stfu.
People who get "triggered" over a CZcams video need more than dieting help. We are such a soft society.
@@dfox3526 lol yeah crying because you don't have the self control to feed yourself properly
@@beyondbackwater4933 Friend...I have 7% body fat. You are probably sitting on the couch with a bag of chips in your "tighty whities" living with Mom. Keep on being triggered!
This is probably one of the best videos I have seen on body recomposition and lifestyle awarness. Straight to the point, insightful and easy to understand. I was big all my life, lost weight and gained it back. Now I'm finding a core motivation to return to my old habits. Dont exercise to follow a trend, do it because you want change your life for the better. Great video!
The cinematography of this is stunning. I stumbled upon this and I'm only 2 minutes in, but I'm already so drawn in. What a transformation.
Bro, I know you’re not a fitness influencer but I’m telling you , this was more influential than any other fitness video I’ve ever watched. I literally got off my ass and hit the gym after watching this. With your filmmaking skills and style you can hit this space in a big way! Nice work man thanks for the inspiration!
Was thinking the same thing, I'm in the fitness world and this was just incredible.. I reckon some big fitness influencers would pay him crazy good money for this kind of videography/editing
Same!!
I was gonna say that’s the most influencer video I’ve seen in a while lol
But it doesn’t detract from dude putting in the work and results speaking loudly. Kudos.
Couldn’t agree more. Not sure why but this spoke more to me than any video I’ve watched
The dick riding is immense.
He’s done great for his physique but like I said the d riding is astronomical
A simple straightforward explanation of how to achieve not only a fitness goal but any other endeavor in life. Salute to you sir!
Not an influencer, but the editing skills are way better than some influencers.. well done mate
Not an influencer, but advertising a bunch of apps 😂
Of course he is
This is so much better than any video I have came across on internet...
Not just fitness...
But also lifestyle.
Dude the cinematographer and transformation you made is insane. Seriously an inspiration
ah man thanks so much! that means a TON!
@@BryanAdamCastillowhere did you learn?
I've been on a fitness journey for the last 6 years. 80 pounds down. This by far is the best way to explain weight-loss. Great video
that’s incredible man! good for you! thanks so much and stoked you enjoyed the vid!⚡️
Good job, bro. Keep grinding ✌🏼
@@BryanAdamCastillo great video! I know you mentioned about tracking calories and macros but can you give just a few examples of what types of foods you would commonly eat for lunch and dinner? Was it the basic chicken and broccoli mostly or what types of foods? Thank you, really enjoyed the video
Hands down the BEST transformation video on CZcams! Direct and to the point. Kudos!!
solid video man, congrats on your progress and well done adopting a life of discipline that has yielded these results. sounds paradoxical but as i've gotten older i realize that discipline = freedom... and too much freedom = chaos
100% agree
So true
Agreed as well
so too much discipline = chaos ? makes sense...

Man, you have such a positive and contagious attitude. Truly inspirational. Thank you for sharing this with all of us.
This is the most valuable video I have ever watched and ive watched so many. You have confirmed I am doing the right stuff and giving me a motivation boost!!! i am 9kg's in on my weight loss started at 125kg you have helped me so much in this 18 minutes than any other video. Thanks Bryan!
Love your honesty man! As a logical thinker and someone who's been on this journey for a while I appreciate your perspective. You don't sugar coat the process. We need people making videos like this as there seems to be an unhealthy growth of videos being put out that give young people either broken perspectives or even completely false narratives. God Bless🔥
This is a needle in a haystack type of video. Inspirational, honest and raw information. I wish I had found this sooner. Will definitely be revisiting this video often as well as using it to help others 👏🏻
ah dang that means so so much, THANK YOU! so glad this vid will be helpful for you and i appreciate the support!
Not to discredit you in any way because the video was very well done and had a great message, but this is a needle I'm a used heroin druggy pile don't be ridiculous. It doesn't need to be unique or one of a kind to be great
The way you conveyed us your story!🔥 the cinematography is beyond being top notch. Refreshing man! Best wishes.
dang thanks so much man! that means a ton! cheers and STAY AFTER IT🔥
It’s great marketing, now give him some money so he can get some more tren
Just came here to say that your journey is quite impressive and inspiring.
Besides, the intro is beautiful, the editing, color grading, the composition, smooth slow mo while still getting a nice rythme...
Take it from a pro, this is true art.
Thank you for sharing. In a pain spot at the moment and struggling to start. This is encouraging!
Bro, the production quality of this video is FANTASTIC. The fact that you guys are both creatives and you pulled this transformation off while still being productive is incredible! You look amazing, and you earned every bit of it! As a sound engineer, pilot, and getting my foot in the door for cinematography myself, this video hit home. I've not been the best to my body over the years after I got out of the Active Duty Army. I really need to pull my consistency together for my mental health more than anything.
Again, well done sir! It's even better that your wife was so supportive. I wish I was this far along with my music creation and video editing skills to do a cool before and after video.
This is the most beautifully shot fitness video I've ever seen, and I've watched heaps of them. Your wife has done an outstanding job, Bravo 👌
Refreshing that you put all this good accurate advice out there for free. I hope it finds the people who need it. It works this is it.
Thank you so much for spreading these truths! I'm 48 years old and I've been working out and paying attention to my nutrition since I was 20. In the last 4 years my wife and I have had 3 children and I stopped working out and watching what i eat for those 4 years. My weight ballooned from 175 lbs to 207 lbs! But I never really worried about it because of the knowledge I had gained over all those years. I was just busy being a late stage in life, new dad! I finally allowed myself to get back to working out and paying attention to my nutrition about 4 months ago and I'm already back down to 182 lbs. My wife just can't believe how fast I did it. But I've always told her and anyone else who wanted to know....."IT AIN'T ROCKET SCIENCE!" 1st, be true to yourself about what you're putting in your body. 2nd put in less than you put out and you will lose weight. 3rd, exercise with both resistance and cardio and you will lose fat and gain muscle! I also can't stress to people enough the importance of at least 1 gram of protein/ lb of body weight for muscle growth. 💯!!
One the best videos on this subject I have seen. So straightforward & easy to comprehend. Great cinematography as well. Thank you for sharing.
Apart from all the knowledge given in this video, like everyone says eyes are the window to your soul, and this guy's honesty and simplicity were pretty much visible in his eyes. That was the reason I stayed till the end of the video, cause his words matched the honesty in his eyes. And yes cinematography was just on another level.
I have watched so many nutrition and fitness videos over the years and I can sincerely say that this is definitely one of the best ones I have ever seen… Not only is it broken down into simple Principles but it was extremely well done! Much respect and appreciation for sharing!
By the time I’m seeing this video i am also in my one year trip to fitness. I was definitely in the same position with you when i first took the decision but i have to say that every drop of sweat worth it. Not only physically but also mentally. To everyone out there struggling to get to your goal… keep going.
Amazing video quality, and has been so awesome seeing your transformation! Hope you guys are doing well!
I am 3 months into where you were 1 year ago and I am SO motivated to live my life this way.
The storytelling skills you have is truly inspiring, also I needed this because I am a father of 3 and struggling to get in shape and this was just powerful 💥
( ps then I laugh when you said don’t get to inspire on this video
Decades in the gym with more strength but no definition but this video is a light in the darkness. Well done. You speak with honesty and the results are clearly naturally reached. I am going to give a try to this
Thank you for the video, it's simply how i started my journey. I probably was goin through the same thing as you. Messed up diet, anxiety, mental stress, feeling ashamed of my during my early 30s. So last may i made the decision to start my complete transformation, quit smoking, changed my diet to healthy and way less far, started working out daily and as you said it's not about motivation nor inspiration, i actually want this to be my lifestyle.
As someone who has yo-yo’d weight loss and diets and watched hundreds of videos over years, I appreciate the authenticity of this video, thank you!
bro i be tellin people all the time you gotta be willing to put in the work and some SERIOUS time to pull this off and keep it, which imo is the hardest thing. Very few are willing to do this. I put in maybe 2-3 hours a day of hard work while allowing myself 2 days of rest sometimes but mostly one. If it was easy everyone would be looking like you. Great vid.
This has to be the most genuine fitness video I’ve ever seen. Thanks!
Superb no nonsense breakdown. I’m on my journey, got a long way to go but seeing some good results - this video is a fantastic reminder it’s a “for life” choice. Thanks man.
Great video. It’s tough to not simply “get inspired” when watching your story. I am recovering from a climbing accident for 4 months now and that has made me gain several pounds for not being able to exercise. I’m almost at the point that I will be able to try jogging again, and sustaining a calorie deficit while maintaining my mental health will be tough, but I just need it right now. Thanks for making this simple, I will try to remember that to prevent me from losing focus. And kudos on the quality of the video/audio, you should be proud!
appreciate that and so sorry to hear about your accident😭 injuries are definitely tough but it sounds like you’re getting back at it soon! start easy and slow and be okay if it takes time! so much wonderful learning and growth ahead for you! much love man!
Great video! I have been doing intermittent fasting since Jan 2021- I went from 265 to 150lbs without working out. Now I just need to get shredded like you!
so inspiring 🤩, I feel pretty much like you in the beginning of the video, 1 week ago I started the changed. This video help me so much to put things organized, thank you very much, Bryan!
Thanks for this video mate, I’m on a weight loss journey,85 pounds down so far but still a way to go,this has made my journey much clearer.💪
Thank you for this. I’m 41 and 290 lbs. I started back in April and still at it. This is very informative. I’ve learned not to count the days, but make the days count.
It will happen faster than it seems to bro, stay consistent.
a few lbs a month starts to add up over time....you got this!
Love that quote at the end, thank you and stay strong!
@@priktop8440 thanks. That quote is posted on my bathroom mirror so I can read it ever morning.
It's a permanent lifestyle change. That's the way you have to approach it. Throw out the old bad habits. Good luck, you can make it happen.
As a strength coach of almost 20 years, just wanted to say “well done” on the video. No nonsense, good advice, and the basic message was “it takes what it takes.”
This has been one of my favorite fitness videos for a year. I've been following this advice consistently and I'm currently down 13.2 pounds in the last month.
I wear my Apple watch to track my calorie expenditure and I use the Lose It app to track what I put into my body. I eat foods that I enjoy and I keep my protein intake very high.
I feel amazing. Thank you again Bryan for creating this video and sharing your knowledge. It has undoubtedly made a difference in my life and I'm proud of my accomplishments thus far.
Bryan said "embrace the journey". That is exactly what I'm doing and it is a wonderful journey to be on.
Honestly, such a great break down and such a realist video. Everyone starting on their fitness and dieting journey, should watch this.
I came upon your video cause I was truly looking for some motivation to embark on a weight loss transformation, but also something to help me with a mindset shift. Today is July 1, 2023. My journey starts Monday morning. I needed to overhaul my fridge and unfortunately today I am not financially fit. Monday, July 3, 2023, I will have thrown out all sugary products and processed foods and filled my fridge with healthy fruits and veggies. Whole foods to be exact. 5'8"/249lbs. Got a long way to go, but I have conquered so much already. You see, I am in recovery and I have 3 years clean. For 33 years I abused illicit drugs and on Nov. 19, 2023, God saved my life. That is the day I officially stop using drugs. Thank you for your precise and easy-to-understand regimen suggestions. You are an incredible inspiration to me. God bless you and your family. 7/3/23 = Day 1!
AYE! stoked to freakin hear that man! you’ve got this. give yourself grace and be patient with the progress. this will happen, it just takes consistency over time! you down to stay after it or what?! 😅😅
God is good man. I'm glad to hear how he's working in your life. Keep going brother.
I’ve been on my fitness journey for seven years now and through that time I have watched hundreds of not thousands of videos. This is easily the best video I have seen as it sums up the majority of what I learned and what I do myself. When anyone ask me what I do to get fit I can send them this video as it will really help. Well done!!
This is just about the perfect introductory video for someone trying to understand their fitness journey. The game changer for me has been the point about not relying on "motivation". I heard a fitness CZcamsr mention this a few months ago and it really was the first time it occured to me to approach fitness and dieting without wishing for motivation to hit me every day. Great video.
Seen a tone of it over the years. This was very clear. Clean video montage. Great job. Thanks for your work and thanks for your content.
8 years ago i got into body building, for 2.5 years, i strictly followed a typical bro science diet and workout plan. i became addicted to the pain of the gym and went from 6'1 245lbs 24% body fat to a healthy 205lbs and hovered around 9% body fat. it wasn't easy to maintain and I always hated the diet part. the last year i was into fitness i adopted more of a diet plan to what you have just explained. I felt way better and stayed in the exact same shape that last year. Then i got divorced, became severely depressed and for the last 5.5 years I've been a lazy couch potato, in that time span I've been to a gym twice. today i woke up at 260lbs and about 32% body fat. I have zero energy every day. A few days ago i made a decision to start working back towards health, not caring to be the body builder i use to be, just healthy. I got a gym membership again a few days ago, but until about 3 hours ago had still not found the motivation to go. today i worked out for 15 mins. i made my muscles sore, did 5 minutes of cardio and called it a step in the right direction. I think its very important for people to understand you cant keep telling yourself one day, make today DAY ONE! start eating in a calorie deficit or atleast working towards a calorie deficit, and start exercising, weather in the gym, outside or home just start. put in some sort of effort and you will get there just like i know ill get there again.
Don’t be motivated, just tell yourself i go 3 days a week. Monday, Wednesday and Saturday night and that’s the fun night.
My divorce been a year this month i have the same issues rn zero power to do anything thanks for sharing God bless..
Appreciate your comment, I’m similar. I am learning only a handful knows or cares about the real me. I’m finally starting to accept this reality, and getting away from caring as much, gonna take better care of myself
Well done man! Well done! That first step is sometimes the hardest but you just need to keep going now. You can do this G and you'll find yourself a hot lady when you do!
@@NoreGrets77 Don't wait like op for 5.5 years. Hope you find the strenght!
Can you please pray for me my name is Jessica and I can’t seem to get away from the alcohol. I know if I could just stop drinking I would feel so much better about myself.
Hey Jessica! Instead of cutting alcohol out try to cut back a little and track the calories. At some point you will be really hungry and be like if I give up my alcohol for the day I can have a yummy desert or an extra serving of snacks. Eventually you will hopefully stop craving the alcohol as much as you used to
I agree with ^ when it comes to habits, I try to aim small and then work my way up. so instead of trying to quit cold turkey, try to figure out how much you're drinking then cut back by 10-20% each week. I had a hard time quitting smoking and this method really helped me. Tho I do know some people once they start drinking it's hard to stop and if that's you I suggest only buying alcohol that you are allowing yourself to drinking for the day, to cut the temptation out
I stopped drinking over 2 years ago best thing you can do for yourself if you're an alcoholic.. you'll never get your full potential out of life... so do it no matter and God bless 🙏
U need a gym program I suggest a 12 week ..you need to lock in and a 12 week will do that..I’ll pray for u and if your interested I’ll point ya in the right direstion
May the Lord God change your story in Jesus name!🎉❤
*GREAT* VIDEO, Bryan! I'm a fitness enthusiast and love health and fitness. I know it's easy to let some leniency in the daily grind ruin progress and I'm definitely not immune to that.
This was inspirational.
I loved the production too.
*PLEASE* keep making more, my friend!
Wow dude congratulations for the massove changes you've done. I've recently started to work out again and I fell my mental health is really improved, I'm glad you underlined this thing
A good one to watch again. Can I say it's been an absolute pleasure to watch your journey, subbing when you first started this channel, following on instagram since before, and all the progress and real process you share. 5 years to now an ABSOLUTE mentally and physically fit machine who's unstoppable, seeing how you love your wife and doggos, and continuing to be an inspiration to all of us. This is amazing!!! I’ve been using MyFitness Pal and my Apple Watch, but now after seeing this I have to be more accountable. More consistent. For me this isn’t so much “inspiration”, but a kick in the butt to keep my commitment. Thank you so much. Subscribed. 👍🏾👍🏾
this is probably the most I've watched a video about out this kind of stuff I just started my journey last week and this helped out a lot! Thank You!
I’ve been following for a while on IG but had no idea you had a CZcams channel. So much insight and easy words to take in in this! Thanks man for the inspiration
What a great video production. I've been on my own fitness program for several years. I started at 225 lbs and then found the Keto diet and got down to 188 lbs. But I plateaued out there. Then I found Remmington James who does the Anabolic Diet and I've gone from the 188 lbs mark to 143 lbs. today. Exercise wise I use to go to the gym 4 to 5 days a week. When covid hit I stopped going and started working out at the house 6 to 7 days a week. I use light weights 5 to 7 lbs with high reps. I'm 74 years old this year. Stay well, Bruce.
Bruce, that's incredible weight loss, especially for someone in your age group. Keep it up!
Dang Bruce, if you keep losing weight you're going to become invisible. 🤣 That is awesome. Keep up the good work!!
Just watched this video for the first time. I started this journey 2 months ago (It will be 2 months in 4 days). I was 290 lbs. I weighed in today, and was 256. All nutrition so far. The effects it has had on me goes far beyond just my appearance. You are right about so many things. Most importantly, doing it for your self, and not relying on anything or anyone else for motivation. Do it for the feeling and the sense of accomplishment it gives you. Make it a way of life, rather than something temporary. Respect the process, and don't get frustrated things aren't happening fast enough. Some weeks, I will lose 3-5 lbs, other weeks, I won't lose anything. It won't be a steady line. But give it time, stay consistent, and you will reach your goals. You may not get to where you want to be as fast as you would like, but put in the effort, and you will get better and better each day. Great video! and an awesome presentation.
Hey good for you man keep up the good work and you’ll be looking great in no time.
That’s freaking awesome
Hope it’s still going well buddy. From another faithful. Bang bang
How is your progress 1 year later? :)
Watching this after my first day of 30 day challenge to go to the gym with my wife every morning 6:30am before work! I’ve been on/off at the gym the pass 4-5 years and it has been up and downs… more downs than up unfortunately. One of the best fitness and health focused videos on CZcams and NOT even from a fitness influencer - which is probably why as it comes across authentically. Science and logic broken down into just a few key principals - thank you! Subscribed.
Great video buddy! Reiterates everything I talk to my wife about on how I began my journey. We often focus on what we have to give up instead of what we have to gain. The mindset is absolutely the first switch that Hass to take place. I’m gonna follow you and see where your choices take you.
This is such a great video. There are so many people selling quick fixes and instant gratification. But there are no shortcuts to a healthy lifestyle. It's small incremental changes consistently over time that make the difference. I'm three years into lifting now and I'm not shredded but I'm much bigger, stronger, and (most importantly) happier than I've ever been. Keep at it!
love that so much and thanks for the feedback! totally agree! STAY AFTER IT🔥
This is probably the best weight loss video I have ever seen. Thank you for sharing your journey. I have learned so much from you and thank you for being genuine and honest.
This video was awesome! Loved the cinematic intro and the video was just filled to the brim with simple but effective tips. Edited very well and I was thoroughly entertained until the very end!
This is perfect, no BS , just straight to the point logic on how to get it done.
Thank your very much.
I did exactly what you did about 5 months ago. Calorie deficit, myfitnesspal, and an apple watch got it all started. Everything you said is totally true and works. 4 days a week in the gym for 45min was all i did and continue to do. I’m still losing weight on that program. May 1st i was 230lbs (5’10)today 9/30 I’m currently 176lbs. 2 months of keto, and incline walking (45min) jump started the weight lose wildly. To anyone that wants to take this leap, its well worth it and very easy once you hack your mindset. This has to be a lifestyle. Otherwise the progress wont last. Keep it up brother
I was following all of this advice when I started my weight loss journey 3 years ago and lost 100+ lbs. Every now and then I lose myself a bit and gain 10-15 lbs and I start to feel anxious (like I am now) because I start to have fear of going back to the old me. Truth is that I’m in a really stressful time of my life where I’m so close to finally graduating college and that’s been the priority these last few months. I felt like I needed to watch this video to get back on track. But one thing I took from this is what you said towards the end: “fitness or life in general isn’t a math equation, or linear. It’s a river that flows in different directions”. And the most important thing is to forgive yourself when you have a small fallout. Pick yourself back up and keep going. This was an amazing video.
Your before and after photos are really giving me some hope. As someone who's "skinny fat" (normal weight but chunky hips and chubby face) your transformation just looks incredible! One of my biggest insecurities is how chubby my face is so I'm hoping that putting on some muscle and leaning out a bit more is gonna help reduce the puffiness in my face!
Just want to say congrats and good for you for choosing a healthy lifestyle, and I enjoyed the no-bs video as well. You said it exactly like it is and at the end of the day, we get one body, one life, make the most of it!
This is dope. I’ve been working out twice a week for 3 months and this week kicked it up to 3 times but not really changing my diet. I’m definitely stronger and notice muscles getting firmer but the belly isn’t shrinking at all. This is a great reminder that tracking is my next step.
This is exactly what I did. Every 3 months I add 1 new positive change to my life. Started this back in 2022 and it’s gotten me pretty far in just two years.
Amazing Transformation, great cinematography. All these times I have been looking everywhere to find Motivation and inspiration, but the KEY is consistency. Going to focus on consistency and drop 100 pounds over the coming year. 2023 is the year I give it my all.
This video is a gift sent from heaven. Wow straight to the point with the important information. Thanks so much!
Fantastic Bryan!! Clearly presented, great cinematography, great story, just brilliant.
means so much thank you!!
You not being a fitness Influencer is the best part.
Those influencers are just pushing products on us rather than sharing actual advice.
(I’m talking about the majority here, some are genuine too)
i feel you on that! some of them definitely offer good advice and have good things to say! i’m glad i can provide a perspective where i’m doing other things with my life than just fitness!
Excellent video, hitting all the right spots. My journey started 2 years ago - yesterday was my anniversary.
I am talking as a woman over 50 here and Fitbit user, - so I thought it might be worthwhile to share my story. And I followed a very similar path as Bryan.
My main target is active health as I am getting older, and I still have a lot of stuff to do with my life!
From his story - I *have* to get a food scale asap! :)
[ Talking in metric here - sorry]
In August 2021, I took my dog to the vet, and out of curiosity I got on the scale - I didn't own one at the time. Just about had a heart attack - I weighed the same as the day before I gave birth to my eldest child!
Went home, ordered a Fitbit. I was overweight, and totally unfit. Bought my first scale in 20 years when it arrived.
What I learned very quickly was to set my own, achievable targets - not try to match any recommended target set by the app.
Started with a walk around my block - all I could manage.. And mostly that is what I did, adding more distance and speed as each walk started feeling easy - walked for 20 months. I hit my major goal (weight) 4 mnths ago - 22 kg over 2 years. I did set short term goals - 5 kg each time during that period - Achievable targets :)
Now I am on to an average (per week) of 8 km per day, hitting 12 or 15 some days. :)
A year in, the daily walking and weight loss were already having a hugely positive effect, and I started incorporating no equipment work outs. (Pilates, Qi Gong, Strength and calisthenics)
And 2 months ago, I started incorporating running - beginner marathon runner training for my first 5k run in October, working up to a full marathon over the next 2 years. During September 2023 I have a series of appointments for full blood work, professional body comp scans and a running specialist podiatrist. I am adding this as I am now ready to take my journey to the next level and bring in some outside help and advise. I will likely be adding some light weight training in the next few months.
Diet: this is for those like me out there. I never had an eating disorder, but I have struggled with having NO appetite for the last 30 years - most days I have to make myself eat. (Did the medical tests etc and the doc was like 'Well, all your stats are good, generally in good health. As long as you eat when you are hungry - and keep checking in (regular blood test) you good'
So my calorie approach had to be opposite - I started at 1000 cal deficit to work up to eating as much as I needed to match expenditure. Finally, about 2 months ago, I went up to a 500 cal deficit.
With more focused workouts, my appetite is improving, but I am not losing anymore - at a 500 cal deficit, I am maintaining. I believe this will change with the increased cardio running provides.
Last piece of advice on calorie tracking - specifically for those of you who do not live in the USA:
You can find numerous calorie counters for food on the internet. Search for 1 that provides the information based on Recipes, ie raw ingredients. I use the Verywellfit calculator, set to the UK.
The country setting allows the site to identify ingredients, pre-prepped meals and take out based on common brands in the location.
I use Fitbit to log my food as well - as you can add Custom entries. So it can be a bit tedious at first, but you will soon see the value in knowing what each ingredients brings to your body! :)
Be sure to note all the nutrients, not just your Protein/Fat/Carb breakdowns - this also will help you monitor things like your Iron and Potassium intake - important stats for older ladies, and athletes.. Talking in metric here - sorry.
Hey Bryan
Best and most informative video I ever seen on getting shredded, cause you keep it simple and to the point.
Thanks man 👊
Beautiful video my man.
Also great work on your weight loss journey
I cannot tell you how much stuff I read on weight loss and following different nutritionist etc following crazy "diets" etc So much overly complicated stuff out there its crazy
Your video literally should be shown to everyone trying to understand weight loss. Its so well put together (production wise) and the information is so simple and digestable. Great work.
ahh that’s so awesome to hear! thank you so much and this is truly my goal when making these videos! cheers and STAY AFTER IT🔥
If it’s complex someone can slap a label on it and sell it. The simplest thing that no one wasn’t a to hear but everyone knows is move more eat less . The more you lose the more you need to move and the less you need ti eat to keep losing. Simple in theory . The challenge is in the doing .
They Can’t sell the basics.
First time I've seen your vids. This was just beautiful to watch. The visuals were great. As someone struggling with weight and exercise, this was a simple to understand perspective. I have taken a few ideas from the video. I was on keto for about six months, lost 40ibs, but found it very difficult to stick to it over a long period of time. Now I'm back running again, I eat low carb for most of the week with 16/8 IF that works well. Thanks.
Your video editing cannot be referenced or called subpar because it’s CINEMATIC AND SPECIAL. Truly happy for you!
Great video, very inspired, been on a long health journey myself. Will be pushing forward with this added information.
Wonderfully made video Bryan. Cinematic and inspirational. I’m 5 weeks into my journey. Honestly, the idea of going back to an unhealthy lifestyle and loosing all my progress scares me. 😂 Props to your bride for her dope shots!
Been struggling with the consistency part of it. I've already had the tools, but need to be more intentional. Thanks for the great video!
consistency is TRULY the key! build in those good habits and push through on the days you don’t feel like doing it! appreciate the support!
I needed to hear this! It just makes sense! No quick fixes just do it even when you don’t want to and make it a lifestyle. I’m 59 so probably not going to get “shredded” but anything would be an improvement 😊
Great Video. Good for you man, I truly am happy for anyone who figured it out and helps others figure it out too. Keep it up brother
Very very inspiring! I just got cheated on last week and i really was in awful pain , I realised that it was time to change and become the best version of myself! Thanks for the tips!!
Bryan, awesome transformation brother!! I’m about to be 40 and have been working out since 2010, so far I’ve lost over 70lbs and built up a little muscle mass. I’m not sure what my current bfp is but I’m 5’4” and currently weigh 152lbs. At my most unhealthiness I weighed about 230lbs. Your video has inspired me to take the next steps in my journey to really achieve a level of leanness that I haven’t yet. I’ve had a dream/goal of getting down to seeing visible abs and although I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished so far, I know I’m capable of more. Looking forward to more content from you, I’ll find you on Insta and TikTok! 💪🏻
🔝🔝🔝
Dude! Holy f%#k! You look like a new man. I am 51 and love going to the gym but I don't think I take it serious enough. Good for you brother. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful journey. All the best!
I'm on my 2nd month of journey now, lost a total of 14 lbs and I'm loving it and I want to continue doing it. Eating the right thing and exercise is not easy more so to continue doing it. But you're right about the mindset and thinking that this is the life that I want. thanks for the video bro.
Yup, for me the lockdowns had a silver lining. In the first year I dropped 42 lbs. BP went from 146/122 to 115/65. Pre diabetes gone. In the gym three times a week consistently with calorie restriction. The last time I had this profile I was in high school. I wear a Garmin for tracking
very nice! can I ask.what your starting weight and age was?
@@samv284 207 lbs. at age 73 now 75 at 165+-1. I deadlift 250 lbs.
@@megret1808 damn that's seriously impressive, you are still able to do weight sessions and cardio, even though you're on the older side? I struggled since I turned 35 and I'm 38 now!!
@@samv284 If I can do it just about anybody can. I have a painting I had done by a young man who has no arms or legs. He holds his brushes in in teeth. He also has a very upbeat attitude. Every time I look at the painting it inspires me
@@megret1808 I'd guess you're also in a crazy calorie deficit too right, given how fast you lost the weight?
I'm 38 and about 30% body fat, when you started talking about motivation and looking for a quick fix I could not help but get emotional? Bro I never get emotional, I've been struggling with carb and sugar addiction all my life and I have always been looking for a quick fix, so hearing the truth that it's CONSISTENCY hit me hard, I even teared up wtf.
Thank you I'm gonna follow your advice.
You gained a subscriber.
Get that carb/sugar addiction out of your life, bro. Stay away from the processed crap, anything in a bag or a box is almost always bad for you. Stay as close to the original as possible, centered around fresh, raw vegetables and high-quality cuts of meat. A vegetable salad a day with maybe a vinegar (not vinegarette) dressing is a good way to start. No deli meats, of course. When I was your age, I lost 45 pounds in less than 6 months eating this type of diet and working-out 2hrsX6days just like he talks about in this video ... that was over 20 years ago. Good luck, you can do it.
Literally the most simple and sound advice I've heard on "how to" for almost everyone.
Just want to thank you for this video. I am learning at 47 what to do and this is the first video that has given me the best and clearest information.
Congrats man, I am currently on a similar journey. I weighed 203 about 11 weeks ago, I am down to 182. I use the Lose it app to track my calorie deficient, water intake, BP, 12 hour intermittent fasting, and some other stuff. I rarely drink alcohol now. once in 11 weeks as opposed to 3-4 times a week. I stopped chewing tobacco. Now that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! is hard. I feel like a crack head missing its crack pipe, just sayin. I have to get a cortisone shot on my left shoulder though. The inflammation is not going away. Sucks!
Bro this video is so damn good, you killed it fam!! Also those shots we’re incredible 😭🙌🏻🔥
bruhh you’re the freaking best man and appreciate all your support! let’s stay after this!!🔥😛
“The choices you make each day slowly weave a tapestry that creates how you live, feel, and experience life.”
This is a great video, thank you.
I need to say this: your wife is amazing. This is the best video editing I've seen on CZcams for a long time.
The content is very good and the message is a positive and healty one but trust me I stuck through to the end of the video because I was enchanted by the visuals from coloring to transitions and even your music is on point.
