The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

I Love Those Girls❤
Sweet. Love the beehive hairdos. So watchable.
Really enjoyed the Kessler Twin's performance. Thank you. 😊
That was great. Didn’t know the ladies until today.. the orchestra is fantastic..
Yes. The orchestration and arrangements for all the singers that performed on the show was top- notch. A great bunch of musicians and very creative arrangements. Always! You have a good ear.
The very best known Twins from West Germany. The Kessler Twins Alice and Ellen, were very famous on US TV and Las Vegas Shows in the 1960's! A very nice upload on the so called "most beautiful and talented Twins around the Globe"; back in the good ol' days...💐🙂
Very graceful!
This is so beautiful as sister in a similar way of the berry sisters but with high quality in Broadway type of talent and amazing taste for harmony I got inspiration from this for a gown
The Kessler Twins represented West Germany at the 1959 Grand Prix Eurovision de la Chanson (Eurovision Song Contest). They performed ‘Heute Abend wollen wir tanzen geh‘n‘ (Let‘s go dancing tonight), which came 8th.
They released a number of songs in German, but only a few got into the charts there, such as ‘Honey Moon‘, a Top 15 hit, which they sang together with pop & Rock’n’Roll star Peter Kraus as a trio (Alice, Ellen & Peter).
They enjoyed lots of success as TV and variety performers in France and Italy as well.
ESPECIALLY in Italy. They became iconic and venerated
They still live in munich
Two beautiful ladies, nice voices, cute routine. As much as I love, the black and white videos makes me wonder what color those dazzling outfits really were! 🖤🤍
Happy Wednesday... thank you for sharing! 💖
superlikeit.
As I watch this video it is hard to conceptualize how in a matter of a few days Billboard magazine would be releasing the latest Hot 100 singles chart where the top 5 songs belonged to the Beatles.
Different musical styles coexisted then. These girls didn't have any radio hits, but they were popular in clubs catering to mature audiences.
@@chrisn7259So very true (re: coexisting musical styles). And 'mature' meaning like... 35+. As you say, for a number of years after The British Invasion there was still 'space' for traditional pop.
Cant wait 💋
So cute!
"Most replayed" moment is the ass-shake. Never change, internet.
That was... not bad.
They give the Doublemint Gum twins some stiff competition.
No kidding!!!
They were super hot. Talented to.
Oh wait they're twins? I thought I was seeing double!
Oh; i know by myself, sometime it's too much milk 🥛...😆
They are cute, but am I the only one who hears them a little flat?
Elegant and fine, but certainly in my opinion they retained some Germanic coldness...

Farkin hell ! That was woeful ! 🙄
Definitely you've got good taste and sense of art...🙄 !
