- In this video, we'll go through the derivation of Simple Harmonic Motions (SHM), and learn about why they are commonplace in physics. We'll learn about how a force that is directly proportional and opposite to the displacement vector gives rise to a sinusoidal motion (SHM), and why the pendulum is not (but almost) an SHM. Also, the most important differential equation of the SHM that helps solve many physics problems will be given.
PLEASE CONTINUE YOUR WORK. we need physics content on youtube, and you provide exceptional quality. don't let this channel die, please.
Rip
So underrated☹️☹️.. This is honestly one of the best explanation I've ever seen. And the animation was phenomenal!!
Typical discussion in Analytical Mechanics
Bro never seen 3b1b vids?
@@t-rex5439 "one of the bests" i emphasize
@@t-rex5439😂
I mean, it is strictly what is taught in first year physics class but with piano in the background. « They way YOUR TEACHER WILL teach you the simple harmonic motion » would have been more appropriate, but I guess it doesnt sell as much.
Please continue your work its amazing !!!!
Please return man I love your work
Nah bro midget content only thats how they teach in normal classes too
This was so well explained and well made, super underrated. It's very sad to see no more uploads.
Please make more video
It's very amazing to learn and understand
At the end, instead if the Taylor series argument, the derivation can be done for a pendulum using the small angle sine approximation. So in a sense the small angle approximation is mathematically equivalent to dropping off the higher order terms.
You got the best physics videos ever pls make vids again
Please make more of such amazing videos
Wonderful explaination...please continue making such marvelous content
I consider treating the elastic potential U(x)=k/2 x^2 like a hill. When the potential is at its lowest (usually at x=0), that's where the block tends to go to
Hey there. I just wanna ask can you please continue this series its really really awesomeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!
awesome explanation sir
THANKS SIR THROUGH THIS I GOT CLARITY IN THIS CONCEPT
You're welcome!
Nicely done!
Great sir 👍🔥
Thanks :)
Thank you! Very easily understood!
Great to hear!
this guy is amazing
ur a genius, i won't dispute that. Stay strong!
Nice explanation 👍
Can't wait for the problems of the next video!
Thanks for commenting twice haha
still waiting
hey! just wanna let you know, that was great!
Can you upload some stuff on moment, rotational motions? like relating mathematical concepts with intuitive physics? That'll be great if you do :3
Thanks! I'll see if I can find something interesting about that topic.
@@overthinkingdude3462 Sir I loved level of content explanation please come back and upload some videos 🙏
I am sharing this video to my teacher ...
My sir also explained taylor theorem in shm as jee is also tough exam
Xclnt presentation !
Great sir
I really appreciate you
Your videos are very good 👍
I had this doubt for a long time
Thanks 😀
I'm glad that my video helped! I think being curious and not just accepting equations as they are and questioning them is what helped me. If you pursue that curiosity you'll end up somewhere great!
@@overthinkingdude3462 thanks
Doing the same
Sir why have you stopped uploading videos.
Your method is very good.
As long as the ball is not moving on the flat surface, it's neutral. But as it's moving because potential energy has been converted into kinetic and there is no friction or drag, then, by your definition, the "neutral" configuration is neutral only when it's not moving. ANY change in momentum, a.k.a. force, will make the object move away from it's original center of equilibrium.
Very nice, but I have a moral obligation to say that my physics teacher did tell us all of that 😂
may the algorithm bless this channel.
Great video!
One thing: if I am not mistaken, the plural of equilibrium is equilibria
Your and 3b1b videos are like asmr to me. I just love watching these videos!
same python library
HI SIR CAN YOU PLEASE MAKE A VIDEO ON CONSERVATION OF ANGULAR AND LINEAR MOMENTUM 😉😍 PLEASE...,
Grt8 job...sir
Thanks!
How many years do you prepare for ipho?
More Videos plz...
Please put much more physics Problem for Olympiad level please please sir !!!!!!!!!!! This is my request sir
this content just make bombastic atmosphere for beginners like me
Nice video! Just wondering if at 12:06, shouldn't the big O notation be O(x^2) instead of O(x)?
you're right
Can you make vedio for calculus .☺️
Kleppner’s introduction to mechanics is a good textbook if people want to read further
This is exactly what a good teacher will tell you - the intricacies of _why_ the harmonic motions equations are that way. If your teacher sucks then I guess this video will be good but otherwise this video is just repeating the textbook.
But this is how I learned SHM at school
Sir please put more vedio
Overthinking Dude, I would really like you to do videos on previous(recent) year IPHO questions. I know it takes a long time to plan and code in manim for problems in mechanics and dynamics. So it might be better to upload most problems from electricity and magnetism or thermodynamics that are more about concepts not visualization.
I am thinking about solving one problem from 2014 (the year I went to IPhO) as the next video. But I might take a small break before that. Thanks for the suggestions.
Can you make some video about optics? Those sign conventions are very hard to keep track of. Awesome video btw.
Good suggestions, however, my plan now is to focus more on mechanics since it is my best area in physics. Maybe in the future...
@@overthinkingdude3462 Sure. Stumbling upon your channel is the best thing that happened to me in 2020. It is a gold mine!
@@rogerjohan9621 Wow, thanks!
gr8 video
A great work....Try to be regular, then you may increase sunscribers. Love from Bangladesh
PLEASE COME BACK
PLs continue uploading dont let the channel die
make more videos sir :)
When will next video come?
Please come back
I went into this thinking there was more to shm than I had been taught, then I remembered I took ODEs 3 years after I first learned it and this video wasn’t for me.
❤️👍 great
Thank you
Bro , why you stop yourself ? Don't you want to continue ? You are a 💎 gem
very good visualizations! the video sometimes is quite hard to understand, but its manageable, and animations help a ton!
Thank you for the detailed feedback! Which part did you find the hardest to understand?
@@overthinkingdude3462 i think starting from 7:25 until the end of the proof, but mostly because i'm a dummy. the theoretical part of how it moves and stuff is clear though
@@kaynjunglep8815 don't worry. It really is not that easy, although I tried my best to make it easier haha.
Sir how can u write in this way...plz tell me
Keep these coming!!! I love them
Thanks, I might take a small break but will try my best.
y dd u stop making videos
when you will upload next video I wait you
Sir please start over the Channel again
Loved the video and the explanation was too perfect!!!
I don't know why there aren't many people watching these videos. I think you should tweet out to 3b1b because he is just finding these type of channels, which use manim and he is promoting them on his social accounts. Hope it might give a boost to the channel
2. Where can I find you in twitter?
Keep em coming my friend.
Thank you very much for the compliment and advice! I do not have a Twitter account yet. But I should create one soon.
@@overthinkingdude3462 let me know when you create one I would love to have a chat with you.
I love physics and i am preparing for ipho plz tell me some books so that i have some good application and theory required for ipho
There was one Quora article that gave all the important books. I personally would recommend you to solve I.E.Irodov and past IPhO problems since that's what I did for my preparation. But those focus heavily on practice.
bro please comeback i beg u, we need uuu 😢
This is exactly how it is taught
Provided the agular displacement should be less than 3 degrees.
You dont make videos anymore??
If this is Olympiad level derivation, then what is elementary level?
You don't derive from grounds up in elementary level. If you notice, they just tell you equations for you to blindly memorize at elementary level.
Super sir
Come back please
THIS IS EXACTLY HOW SIMPLE. HARMONIC MOTION IS TAUGHT EVERYWHERE
The difficulty was decent . Atleast when we are talking of Olympiad, SHM is really important especially that Taylor's Method.
I'm trying to find that balance of difficulty that's not too easy but also useful to enough number of people.
@@overthinkingdude3462 Is it better for you to create long videos or short videos? If you could make short videos on how to approach Olympiad questions that would be helpful.( These type of videos aren't bad though )
Also major part of the preparation is of problem solving , which majority ,I think so are not so good at even though they are sound with the theory.
tuyệt caf là vời
We solved x"+sin(x)=0 for fun in our mechanics course
Hope ur doing well in life
As an IBDP Year 2 student who studies MAA HL and Physics SL, the level of difficulty of this video is just right! The use of graphs and Maclaurin series enlightens me on the application of mathematical tools. The introduction to the approximation for SHM for commonality of the concept is new knowledge for me, and is helpful for understanding the topic of SHM.
Simple harmonic means, there are no higher harmonics.
how is ur video different from others, like others very cooly u say let's take it w squared and then say w is angular, what a logic
This is exactly how I was taught this in school jajajajaja
Highschool teachers won't, college teachers will
I have to say as a viewer of 3blue1brown, I think your content is at par or even better.
u deserve more subs :)
also can one derive the equation for time period of LC osscilators i.e. T = 2 * pi * ( L * C) ^ (1/2) with a similar method?
.
Now I m able to do jee advance 2020 question of shm with tailor's method very quickly.
You good?
HEY!!!! PLS READ I BEG YOU
It's time to make 5 more videos, Dude.. Stop Overthinking for a while and action
As a jee advanced aspirant i can proudly say we solve a hell of complex questions of shm
Make vids again or I'll find your mom
Video is fine, but physics teacher do tell these stuffs. Why posting some bullshit title,??
