In this exclusive episode of the podcast, I headed down to the North Devon town of Bideford to film a documentary surrounding the 8th tier of the English football pyramid and delving deep into the world of non-league. I was lucky enough to speak too players, managers, fans and directors before, during and at full-time of this non-league local derby to get the best insight possible. We were also lucky enough to watch a tough, hard but thrilling 90 minutes of football as local rivals Barnstable visited The Sports Ground to play Bideford AFC. Filming and going behind the scenes inside a football club is something that I have always wanted to do, so to produce this video so early in my journey is generally an unbelievable achievement and experience.
Many thanks to Bideford AFC for helping put his documentary together.
Many thanks to everybody involved in this production - on camera and behind the scenes.

MASSIVE respect to all the non-league fans 🙌
Absolutely mate!
I’m a Sheffield Wednesday been watching them for 40 years. But over the last few years the club have put prices up to a point where I drew the line. I’m such a fan of non league football and I would rather watch and go to see football at it’s purest form than go to watch premiership football. Anyway well done for a great little documentary
Thank you mate! There’s just something about non-league!
I'm 19 now and been a Grimsby fan for pretty much 19 years too, my dad took me to my first game when I was about 3 years old, there is just something about football from Non-league to championship level, the best football and purest fans are in the lower levels and when you get a local derby in those lower levels I'd much rather watch one of those than any premiership derby.
I think a lot of people are feeling the same. Used to be a season ticket holder at Chelsea but recently I’ve been watching my local non league club. I still go up the bridge a few times a season but £60 a ticket, train fare, beer prices, a programme etc, you’re looking at £100. I can’t justify that anymore.
I grew up playing and watching non-league football alongside supporting Bolton Wanderers, you get a strong feeling and bond, even now I watch the odd game. I've seen team mates have trials for professional clubs nothing came about it but there are some really good footballers out there that just need a break like Jamie Vardy had for example. Been subscribed to this channel all this season, first time I have seen this documentary today.(11 Jan 2023) Should do a follow up every now and again. Well done
There.is a lot to be said for watching Sheffield.
This fans and this clubs are the soul of this game...From Slovenia
I am a Pompey fan and I went for years, home and away including any friendlys. I would hate to think about the amount I have spent on my Portsmouth. Unfortunately I can't afford it 😭😞 any more. Due to becoming disabled. Our non League team is Havant and Waterlooville, and the football is not too bad. A community feel like that is good thing for our area. But I still miss the away games, meeting new people in new town's and cities and learning about other clubs and meeting new friends sometimes. Love your Views on football ⚽ in general Jack. Keep all the different video's coming out mate. Play up Pompey.
I went to watch Bideford play last year. I was amazed at the atmosphere. I support Torquay, but last year I decided to just watch games around the country. Great fun.
Watching this in Australia mate. Great watch, well made. Keep it up. Hopefully the CZcams algorithm gets this the views it deserves.
Thank you so much mate! Appreciate the kind words!

3:34 No way he is about 35, I thought I looked old at 39...
Supporting Bideford must have taken its toll
Damn you are ruthless mate lmao
Yeah thought that myself I’m 11 years older and feel good after seeing him. If he didn’t have balding ginger hair he would only look 50
One of my family's friends used to play for Bideford and scored for them in a final 🙂
I would love to see more videos like this, where you engage with smaller clubs and give us an insight into how these clubs are run. This is a fantastic documentary well done and I hope to see more in the future like this.
Amazing yet again
Thank you so much mate!
Excellent video, in many respects I enjoy watching the lower leagues of football more than the elite level, at least at the lower level you know the players are playing for the joy of the sport, not just the $£€.
Greetings from Australia 🇦🇺.
