Hey 67pooch, sadly no all of the colours are set by Mercedes at their factory. I think it’s also a limitation of the multimedia system that gives the command too
I have a 2020 GLC63, and do believe I have some of those features.
Also, you don't have to pause after saying "Hey Mercedes" to wait for car to acknowledge. You can right away say what you want without waiting.
No millenial pause needed great!

Ah yes a little hidden feature!
MBUX vocal commands are great, they can turn on/off A/C, de-ice windscreen and close air recirculation so you can avoid the smell from the truck exhaust in front of you without touching anything :)

Once again, thanks for your help. Saving the current location was my favourite. It’s getting to the point where Mercedes-Benz dealers should set up classes in how to do stuff. It could even generate sales for them.

Thanks for your videos - I'm learning so much about my A250 hybrid - you're a star. I'm semi-retiring now after 25 years as a painter decorator - and my daily drives have been work vans - this is my first luxury saloon for that time and I'm loving it. I never thought I was that bothered about cars - until I got this! Just gotta get to grips with android auto (which is a bit clunky) and I'll be sorted!

After many hours of driving I’ve discovered that temperature and controls for it can be displayed on the MBUX! Touch temperature on the display and it will pop a new screen with fans, temperature and Auto Mode, looks very sleek on my GLC💖

Great info as always Nick. I have a 2022 Mercedes and just out of curiosity, I thought I’d check and see if Mercedes voice command could assist me by turning on my turn signals just by using my voice. Unfortunately, she told me she wasn’t able to do that as of now. 🤣

Awesome tutorial Nick! Just bought myself a Benz and this was very concise. Didn't miss a beat. Question please.. How do I get my screen to display full screen when using my navigation via Android auto as it seems to only use it up but so much?

I wish it was full screen too but there are other manufacturers who have come across the same issue before.
The reason is because MBUX (also known as NTG 6) on Mercedes is available in two screen sizes, 7” & 10.25”. When designing and coding I’m led to believe that you can only choose one (to maintain compatibility) for everything.
So to make sure it works on all models, Mercedes of course had to go with the 7” version, which is perfect for 7” owners but of course leads to a cropped experience if you have a 10.25” screen.
NTG 7 found in some new cars have higher faster processors and have one screen size leading to a full screen experience on Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Hope that explains potentially why it’s like that on some cars!

Oh really I’ve not heard of that before…I do aim to try and produce a video of that in the future but I’d just use any sort of leather cleaner really. I honestly haven’t tried any so at this moment in time I can’t recommend any. But…the first place I’d look at would be Autoglym as they always seem to be good 👍🏼
Hi Nick, thanks for the interesting videos, always very helpful to know the tips and tricks. We have a 2022 GLS 450 with bench seats. I wonder if there is anyway to adjust the angle of the headrest in the second row. I know how to adjust up and down but not sure about forwards/backwards. I put two car seats in the second row and the headrest is kind of in the way. Another question I have is that we bought the car in the USA, the temperature is in Fahrenheit, and I only work in Celsius, is there anything in setting that we can change from F to C? Thanks

No sadly it’s just up and down as far as I’ve seen when I filmed one before.
Again for the Celsius and Fahrenheit, sadly no I’ve not seen a setting for this before when filming in any Mercedes models.
Best thing to do is ask if a dealership with Mercedes technicians to see if they have the ability to change it.

Nick - Thank you for your videos, I recently purchased E53 AMG - Can you make a video that tells what all the screens mean and do. Like in this video at 5:55 on the right side of the cluster there is some sort of bulls eye what is that telling me I dont know what its displaying - things like that I have not found what they are telling me. so many options - I also noticed I have a standard feature call Power rear-window sunshade I havent found that switch. Any chance up doing reviews like a full cluster display overview?
Thank you! I’ve produced a few videos on various multimedia systems and instrument clusters but they will always be slightly different in AMG’s as they have extra things like GForce readings etc (think that’s the bulls eye one)

Handy tip about the radio station presets, thank you. I use the traffic sign assist in cruise control a lot and it's very useful - the only problem is it can misread the speed limits on the back of lorries as a road sign - I've often had the car suddenly drop down to 50mph on a motorway for no reason at all - and yes, it even changed it to 80mph once and I don't think any magistrate would have believed my excuse for speeding as "the lorry did it!"

Yes it can pick up signs on the back of lorries so I find it if it happens a lot, just toggle off Route Based Speed Adaption and then the speed is over to you and what you select 👍🏼

Ah that’s the first thing I did my car
You do it on the first set up when you get the car.
But to access it again, on the home screen, find the profile selector (usually a picture of a person top left / right) and find something along the lines of Protect User Content or something. Just toggle it off from there.

Could you do an in depth overview of the mbux system in the facelift a class? I upgraded to the facelift model and I feel like some features are missing or I can't find them.
Ex: when in any other "theme" than classic, there's no quick way to change the song you're listening too.
You can't show media (or any other screen) in that theme, and the touchpad was removed so you can't swipe it either
Absolutely I will do soon! Got loads of content lined up for that over the next few months!
I’ve noticed those things too, Classic is the only way to change song on the steering wheel.
Yes that’s right Media is only on that one, touchpad was removed but you can change track a couple of ways:
Say “Next Track” just as it is and it’ll change
or
Swipe up from the bottom on the left screen and you can change track there (hidden menu I found the other day!)

I’m pretty sure Mercedes models should retain the settings when using a profile, however it might go back to default settings if you’re using Guest. That’s what it’s like on mine anyway 🤓
If that doesn’t work just get in touch with Mercedes, I’m sure they’ll be able to help 🤓

Not all cars have it, depends on the specification.
Make sure you have the key and kick your foot straight in and back out at the back of the car pretty swiftly without kicking your leg on the car. If you have it, the boot will open.

Can you ask Mercedes to adjust ambient brightness level? Too many steps in menu to get to it to adjust

You should be able to save them via the Themes on MBUX or Profiles

The assist mode feature allows you to reset certain features like service a oil change, and some other items that I have not seen yet because I cannot figure out how to go into it. All of the CZcams clips are outdated. Thank you again.
Oh the hidden service menu? Sadly no only Mercedes technicians know how to get in there. It apparently lets you tell the car it’s had a service I think.

Nice Vid Nick. I have a AMG 45S 2020 but cant get the same image in the view behind the steering wheel (speed dial on the left and rev counter on the right. What do I need to set?

If it’s just the normal dials hold the back button closest the driver’s door and it’ll reset
Or if you have a different design, press Home, swipe across to themes / styles (can’t recall the name) and choose classic
@@npoleary Hi Nick. The image I was trying to get was the twin dial with speed on the left and Rev counter on the right. After further looking I could not find that setting(image) I did look under styles and all there is set in that option is regular (blue colouring) Sport (Yellow colouring) and Supersport (Enhanced yellow colouring) There are no images under styles on my car. I did look under trip and found a single spped and a single rev counter image but not togethewr as shown on your video. Another problem I have is that after I paired my android with the car and went into telephone and then into contacts, ONLY Mercedesme is showing and none of my contacts on the phone. A bit puzzled by this.
If you only have a single dial then your screen is 7”. There was an option for a 10.25” screen if I remember from new which is bigger and allows two dials.
For the contacts, make sure you “Allow Contacts” when connecting your phone via Bluetooth. You might need to re-pair the phone again if the pairing process was interrupted.
If you’re sure it’s Allowed, make sure that your contacts are not on your sim or in Google. They need to be on your phone for a car to recognise them 🤓
@@npoleary Many thanks for your invaluable help Nick. I did not know there was a larger screen but it explains the single dial. I have also noticed on the main menu that I have no settings. The last setting I have on the far right is SERVICE. Whether settings is accessible I do not know. Maybe that also comes with the 10.5 screen version. Thanks once again.

Mercedes me doesn’t draw that much power from the car but of course if you’re going away long term, it’s best to purchase a trickle charger to ensure it starts successfully when you’re back. It’s borderline, it might be okay for one month but any longer I’d definitely say to get one

No sadly not
All cars out there have to start in their default driving mode
Mercedes have quite a few but their default is Comfort, you can change it pretty quickly after starting though!
Hey Nick - epic vids mate. I just purchased a 2021 GLC & noticed with Apple CarPlay it does not show directions in the HUD whereas Android Auto does. Any ideas how to enable Apple CarPlay to do this? Thanks in advance.👍
It’s not something Apple CarPlay does as far as I’ve seen.
I didn’t realise Android Auto could even do that though, wonder if it’s something to do with “Coolwalk”. I remember hearing of an Android update a few months ago that I want to check out somewhen.

No worries! I haven’t, I don’t think there is a way to turn off adding to playlists.
You should be able to add any video to any playlist on CZcams as far as I’m aware.
The only thing I’m currently changing behind the scenes is the what videos are in the playlists I’ve made but I have not turned anything off.

Hey SQ, wasn’t planning on making a video just on the headrests but it depends on the specification.
If it’s electric, you just adjust it using the buttons on the door.
If it’s manual, in between the lever you pull to get into the back to fold the seat forward there’s a button there to adjust it up/down

Ah that’s an automatic process. If you have album artwork that’s the correct size to be displayed and if the car’s compatible, it’ll come through.
I find it works better though when plugged in 🤓👍🏼
I have a 2023 glb250, I dont know how to adjust the tempreture for the rear, hot wind blows from the fist raw, but the rear van blows cool wind

It depends on the specification not all cars can do it, it depends if you have KEYLESS-GO or not, the one with the keyless access point on the handle.
Could be the battery in the key or something, it might be a little lower than it should be...just a thought.
@@npoleary thanks for the fast reply. Well, a one year old car with the highest available spec at the time in the UK. Of course I have KEYLESS-GO. That is why I don't get it why its not working. I tried both keys, and non of them seams to be working. So I don't know. I need to keep using the Mercedes Me up for opening and closing the windows but its a little more fiddley and I need to have an internet connection.
Not sure then, if you get in touch with your local Mercedes they should be able to advise and let you know.
Sadly there aren’t any settings for this in the menus on the cars

Hello Nick. So incredibly helpful. My center screen in my 2020 GLC300 suddenly is always showing a video screen of the intersection at a stop. Not sure how I caused this. Can anyone help? Thank you so much.

Maybe “View” but have a look for Augmented Reality and Traffic Light view, just toggle that off per user profile (if you have multiple profiles)
Hi Nick, I have a 2021 Mercedes C Class Convertible, the DAB radio doesn’t have any of the station logos on it (just the default icons), is there a trick to get these to display (it seems to be automatic on Audi / VW cars)?
Hey David, no sadly not, it’s automatic and should appear there on their own.
You could try a reset of MBUX to see if it forces a refresh.
Failing that I’d probably just suggest to get in touch with your local Mercedes, hopefully they can help
Hi and thanks for useful information. I am wondering when iPhone is connected to the EQE and MBUX is running too, if we want to call a person should we press the button on the steering wheel and say Hey Siri! Or Hey Mercedes? Which one ? Or if we just say hey Mercedes without pressing button call “ (command) Nick” is work?

It depends if you’re using Apple CarPlay or not. If you’re using Apple CarPlay, I’d reccomend Siri but if you’re just using MBUX, stick with Hey Mercedes 😎

Hey Kevin, no sadly when I spent ages in a car making my MBUX walkthrough guide, I don’t remember seeing split screen as a drop down menu.

I would have thought that if you’re on the favourites menu, if you change the station does it not change the favourites?
EQE’s on Radio I’m sure have the Radio screen labelled Favourites, FM/DAB, AM, Tune In Radio at the top.
Sadly I don’t have my car at the moment and I haven’t got a visit planned at my local dealer so I can’t test it.

Most cars have USB or USB-C ports. Pretty sure there was at least one USB-C port in the middle of a C-Class when I last reviewed it.
For a 12V socket, there’s one in the passenger footwell (top right).
Mine can scan the sign and traffic lights but it can’t stop at red lights or stop signs. I heard the more expensive S Class can.

Sadly I wouldn’t know how it works if a car has been exported.
Cars are only designed for the country that they were made for so it’s highly likely Mercedes me will not work when taken outside of it’s home country and the same goes for maps too.
Only thing I can suggest is get in touch with Mercedes to see if they can offer any solutions.
@@npoleary thanks for the timely response. I’ll ask again (language barrier), but I was initially informed of being able to do map update which may help with navi, but not sure if will help with traffic lights.

Can you move the icons on the driver screen home menu or just the central one?
Another thing to ask Let’s say for example you go to Europe and change the units to kmh instead of MPH will it change any other units like temperature or just the distance and speed units?
Yes you can move the main menu icons round on the multimedia system but not the instrument cluster.
If you change the units it's just distance and speed that'll change 🤓

I’ve never tried sorry, the car’s I have bought have always had tinted windows in the rear so have never had them tinted.

Just wondering if you can help ….. so I do save a lot of vehicle locations, my GLK would give a chime when approaching the saved location, so my question is there a way to have the saved locations chime when approaching a location mark saved?
Not that I’ve seen, I haven’t heard of a feature where it’ll chime for saved locations. You can save them, but not seen any form of alert when you’re approaching

Yes, it actually comes up with an automatic prompt when connecting Bluetooth 🤓
Traditionally iPhones weren’t able to do it with older iOS versions but they have been able to over the past couple of years
Hiya Nick, Another query please, I have a 2022 MB B200 AMG. When I am driving (over 50 ish) I am getting a double 'ding' sound, Sometimes when I cross or get near the white line, even when I use the indicators. It also happens at random times when on the motorway when I am in the middle of a lane with no other vehicles near me. Can you offer help...yet again? Thank you.
Hey John, it could be a number of things
Next time it happens have a look if your speed limit sign flashes when it beeps. If it does then you probably have Speed Limit Assist set to Visual & Audible
Hey Nick, I have a 66 plate e class, it it possible to have a full screen reverse camera and not have the sensors showing in the side?
No sadly not, most Mercedes are like that, I’ve not seen a way to make the screen bigger.
There is sometimes a wide view but then you won’t get the wheel lines on the screen.
You can usually just spin the wheel in the middle if I remember when the camera is on
Nick, yes that is exactly it. What happens is when you hit the 10k miles
It triggers a service reminder.
On the 2022 and 23 models and older, there is a way to toggle between the buttons on the steering wheel and go into the service mode reset feature.
I have purchased the service a and service b that will trigger at 10K and 20K miles. But if I keep the car longer than 20,000 mi I intend to do my own service and do my own resetting of the service message. If I have to go out and buy a ODB2 tool to reset this I Will do that.
I love the technology and mbox and the non-textile approach that Mercedes has taken. But to limit us from doing our own basic service, is telling the consumer that we are not qualified to do a simple reset.😅
I live in California Southern and it gets very hot and traffic is very congested. A 4-cylinder turbo engine, going 10,000 mi even with the new Mobil 1 X2 is pushing it. That's why I am wanting to do my own service after the clock throws the service message. And of course this is after 20,000 mi.

@@npolearyThanks, Nick! It works when I say "next rack" but swipe up from bottom of the screen doesn't seem to work, the only way I can do is to use the "last track" or "next track" icon next to the "home" icon.
@jeffreychen5241 oh right if you have a model with the portrait screen there’s already a next track button there so you can’t swipe up in addition to the buttons that’s already there
Saying “Next Track” is by far the easiest! 🤓

Hey John, which model do you have and what year? As most Mercedes models here in the UK you can’t send internet to the car via your phone (with the exception of a couple)
I would like to cover Tidal in the future though!
@@npoleary I have a 2021 S580. The MBUX just updated to the zero layer version. Tidal shows in the interface and I tried it but it wasn't straight forward. Thanks.
It would require a separate data connection or a mobile phone tether if your phone supports it. Easiest way is through Apple CarPlay if you use it 🤓

Not sure what you mean, the exterior side mirrors? I’ve never seen an interior mirror fold
Is it the outside ones? They’re controlled on the main centre screen, HOME, SETTINGS, VEHICLE if I remember 🤓

If you have built-in sat nav then you should be able to! It depends of course on the model and if you’re using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto which run off the phone.
