Hi everyone! Thank you so much for stopping by my channel. For those of you who are new to the channel, I am a classically trained perfumer sharing my favorite fragrances. In this video I talk about my favorite musk fragrances that are just perfect as the weather begins to cool. Hope you enjoy!

I loved this demystification of musk. I kept hearing reviewers talking about it as either animalic or not but I never quite got what they meant. Now I finally understand what they were trying to say. Thanks a lot for explaining it so simply yet beautifully.

There's actually a fragrance called Clean (classic) Skin, pretty good musk scent.

I had a great sweet musk oil from an arabian house : Hanan by Ard al Zaafaran.. It smelled like a clean musk with vanilla and coffee.. anytime I wore it I got great feedback.. too bad I can't find it anymore :(
Another one that I love (even though I'm a man) it's Tiffany&Co. EDP... It's a great musk for hotter days.

Personally, my favorite musk scent is Dans Tes Bras by Frederic Malle. I also have Narciso Rodriguez for Him EDP, but I haven’t spent enough time with it yet. Great video

Nemat musk oils are great! And Cabot Labs musk oil is an old favorite from way back! ChocoMusk is actually nice, for when you're feeling gourmandish, which im not usually, but that and Cherry Musk fill that craving nicely.

Btw..Kiehls musk (upon drydown) is a really great sexy scent and 'Skin' musk (cheapie) has been a favorite for decades.

Shi by Alfred Sung! It makes me so surprised every time I smell it. I love it before bed and when it is blazing out because it feels clean. Maybe I will try it more in cold weather like you mentioned.

Thanks for the lesson on Musk. I remember being at Harrods upstairs at the Xerjoff section and they told me they create musk from plants. I do remember musk by body shop very popular perfume. I like musc ravageur but also cycle 001 by Maison Violet that is my signature scent. Thanks for the amazing video and sharing your faves with us
Thank you for your comment! There is a plant seed called ambrette that smells “musky”. It’s quite an expensive raw material but it is found in some of the more high end fine fragrances.

Musk deer was very common in my country long time ago. Not so much nowadays. I've smelled pure deer musk and I found it to be sweet and reminded me of my late grandfather. I'm guessing he used to wear it. So I can't really get that animalic or barnyard description because it reminded me of my grandfather so much. Nostalgia somehow blocked that animalic facet to my nose or maybe I'm fond of that smell because I'm missing my grandfather (wondering if I'm making any sense at all haha). My friends find the smell offensive and don't get any sweetness at all.
This is so interesting! Thank you for sharing this story. I do agree that once we learn to love a smell, we tend to focus on the parts we like and ignore the parts we don’t, making us somewhat “anosmic” to them.

Hello, you are lovely, I relly enjoy your videos.What fragrances do you recommend with musk in the world of designer fragrance?
The musk I wear all year round, in the "clean category" Is Royal Copenhagen Musk Oil. Yeah, it's old, but once the powdery barbershop effect dries down, well, let's just say I've been getting compliments for decades.
Love Royal Copenhagen! It gets no publicity, for some reason, but it's actually pretty great!
There's sweat and nervous anxiety sweat. Sweat from physical movement, being outside.... smells sexy.
Nervous,anxious sweat smells bad. That is the end of the day expiration smell. Biologically speaking, apocrine glands are responsible for body odor and every person, race has differing amounts. These quantities can determine the "strength" of the body odor.
I feel like musks, done well can compliment a bodies natural "attractive" scent.

Currently in the spell of Red Musk (EyesEye creations) i love a good red musk attar or perfume oil...also Kiehls Original Musk and Skin Musk Oil by parfums de Coeur. They're all completely different, but theyre all recognizably musks, and thats my favorite.

I absolutely adore musc ravageur! The only reason it’s not on the video is because it straddles the line between being a spicy and musky fragrance for me.

Room 237 is a very difficult, long lasting, weird scent. Hard to put it into musk category to begin with. Very invasive, strange scent.
I loved Jovan Musk. But it seems like they changed the formula from the original. I don't like the newer version. It doesn't have the musk fragrance anymore.

Sample Marlou’s trio of Musk type fragrances, then update this video. I enjoyed Carnicure myself, then Ambilux, Poudrextase the least.
Kuumba made Egyptian musk is 10$ lol and dwarfs all of my fragrances on the level of random compliments and intrigue from strangers and I have over 50,000$ primarily niche frags with some raw oils , attars and concentrates

I build perfume oils,the only barnyard type I know of is castorium beaver gland, civet crystal poop pee, nothing else used in attar or especially smells barnyard ish
I've heard ppl say Indian or Hindi Oud is a bit barnyard...

It was the oil that initially blew my socks off but I also love the Musk EdP as that is generally my preferred format for fragrances. Most convenient and easiest to apply

I have ONLY smelled Narcisso Rodriguez for her EDT (black bottle) and THAT is what I want when I talk about Musk fragrances!! It seem as though every other musk fragrance smells like laundry detergent or JLO Glow-esque musk (which I'd refer to as White Musk.)
