I loved it when Disney created original rides. I know it doesn’t really attract as many visitors, but their rides grow to be special, unique properties on their own over time.
This may be a late comment, but I want to point out that Discovery Mountain may have been scaled down substantially even before Euro Disney's initial flop. When Disney revealed their plans for Phase 2 during the opening ceremony broadcast, they showed a model of Discovery Mountain that closely resembled the version we got in 1995, with no room for a drop-tower attraction, a submarine restaurant, and Horizons. It's possible that even if Euro Disney was profitable, we would still get something close to De La Terre a La Lune, just with a lot more detail.
This thing could still be buit in TDS imo. There's a huge plot of unused land right by Port Discovery and Lost River Delta. It would really fit in with the area and TDS can finally have a solid coaster. TDS would also have a complete Verne trifecta. It would also greatly improve Port Discovery which is mostly considered the weakest area. Since there are already jttcoe and 20k attractions, an attraction based on H.G. Wells's time machine or an updated journey into imagination with the original dirigible concept could be in the pavillion. Horizons could also work in the area.
Well, at least Discovery Mountain got build, albeit in a reduce only Space Mountain form. In Adventureland there's still just a big grass field where the similar Indiana Jones complex was supposed to come.

It would have been incredible, but in terms of dimensions and immersion I think Mysterious Island at Tokyo Disney Sea is a good comparison

i still want space mountain to go back to its retrofuture roots. maybe a tie to the SEA? we don't have any of that in paris afaik

well, ... there aren't any other lands at Disneyland Paris than the original lands 😂
