The biggest thing about Superman is that his biggest conflicts aren’t about breaking his limits like Goku, but more of confronting situations that *can’t* be solved by fighting. He can punch infinity all day, but that doesn’t help him when he’s talking a girl down from committing suicide or has to deal with systemic corruption.
Yep. One of my favorite Superman stories is called Peace on Earth. He doesn’t fight anyone in that story, but seeing him try to solve world hunger the best way he can and showing there’s things Superman can’t beat without fighting it is part of why I love Superman. He’s a man with a ton of power, but he chooses to use it for good.

Well, he can solve the problems by fighting because he always does like Darkseid or stopping Lex's robots or something.

Whenever he tries to solve every single problem in the world, he either burns himself out or ends up making things worse.
This was not actually round 3.
It was a complete reboot and reexamination of the first episode including modern material, even if the victor didn't change.
Since those 10 years ago, Death Battle has gained a new research team, a new way of measuring feats, a new outlook on certain feats, and no longer see Superman has "having no limits."
With all this, they wanted to give it another go and start over from scratch, especially since Ben, the showrunner and voice of Wiz, says that he pretty much despises those last two fights, especially the 2nd one.

They do see him as having no limits they explained the gap is too large because he's too strong.

They don't see him as an invincible being anymore. Even if those limits are ABSURD BEYOND ALL BELIEF, they've said multiple times that he's not unbeatable as they once thought.

@@MoisePicard-qp3tn I agree that the victor is always going to be Supes, but they thought the reasoning and research was outdated. They wanted to start from scratch and rely less on philosophy of the characters to decide the victor.
They did an outstanding job with this episode in comparison to the other 2. Im personally more of a dc fan over anything else but im not the bias type. Eventhough my boy Superman won again they both are champs at the end of the day. Goku is one heck of an awesome character and i love how inspiring he is. I really hope that they do a Goku matchup again but against someone else who would give him a good fight but give him a chance to finally come out on top because he really deserves a win instead of always being bound to go up against Superman and Superman only.
They would need to be careful with that, for the risk of people thinking they are just giving him like a pity win. I think having him fight Superman only embodies Goku's character because fighting the strongest has always been Goku's motivation. Having him fight someone else when he "knows" there is someone stronger out there... I could see them catching a ration of crap for that. But who knows.
I'm of the same opinion as you on this. It was an amazing video and gave ultimate respect to both of these characters. To me this match up has always been the unstoppable force meets the immovable object. Were it not for DeathBattle's 'death' rules, I'd like to think that they would eventually stop fighting and just be bros. A lot like the ending of this video, but just without the halo. "Well now we gotta fix reality".

@@nerdscholar316 Very true! I dont think it would end with Goku dying or even with them destroying the universe (that probably was the multiverse). And I cant help but to feel like if they did bring Goku back then it would be composite Goku vs Composite Ryu just looking at this as a conversation that was brought up a few times since it showed up in the tournament of champions (including the most recent Death Battle cast that was live streamed yesterday) and it looks like it would be an extremely powerful fight that Goku would ultimately have the edge in so if he wins then I don't see so many people saying that they're giving him a pity win. Especially since Superman is the only person he's ever fought on DB. The outcome would often be different if we pinned him up against a lot of other opponents.
Fun fact: Akira toriyama said Superman and Son Wukong are the two that inspired him to create Goku
I won't lie as a Superman fan myself he was right about how raw it was when Goku first went SS on Namek. That was only topped by when he went UI in the tournament of power against Jiren. I wish Superman had cool moments in the cartoons to show off his true potential but they always gotta nerf him hard which is why most people doubt he can hang with other top tiers.

I love that fight even though am unhappy that Goku took another L (3x in a row) in DeathBattle. I'm happy to see my top 2 favorite fictional characters fight again which is a win win for me. I don't think I've seen Goku won a single fight in the history of DeathBattle.

If it means anything this is basically a remake since the first death battle aged poorly and the second one was made somewhat prematurely/spitefully and wasn't researched with a team as well as both the fights not reflecting and respecting their characters.
Goku losing to Superman is more respectable than beating some fodder. How many contestants get to bust planets or destroy the universe? Haha
honestly its not that bad. Goku also took the L against Jackie Chun, Against Tenshinhan, against Tao Pai Pai, against Grandpa Gohan, against Tambourine, against Raditz, Against Vegeta, and maaaany more times. Goku is not invincible, but each loss its a learning and training moment.

This is one of those fights that will never end because of the fans who disagree with the outcome and that's why there are 3 Superman vs Goku Death Battle videos.
Some might say it's because Goku is getting stronger in time and that's understandable.
I know enough about these two heroes (over 3 decades of knowledge) to say there is a huge gap between them and Superman leaves Goku behind lightyears in this matter.
I'm not that passionate about them going head to head because I know deep down inside, if they were to be fighting each other it would never be to the death it would be more like sparring or training only because Goku would most likely to be the one who wants it and Superman would just oblige because Goku deserves it. Have to respect the character's character if you know what I mean. Goku and Superman are the epitome of a super hero.

Sorry but it never was a close match. They made it looked like it was until the end showing Goku dead with a halo over his head and beat up while Superman is standing untouched (seems his cape is the only thing that took damage in that fight) and says with a friendly tone, " you almost had me there. " talking to Goku like he's a child, should've added a, " little slugger." at the end of that. Death Battle trolled this match.
Well in these end of the day the fight was pretty good win or lose it don’t really matter I don’t really focus on power scaling I just want to see a good fight back and force

Two errors in the analysis. Superman can't destroy the multiverse with one punch. He breaks the World Forger's hammer and that causes the unstable multiverse to collapse, it's not like Superman's hit magically breaks the multiverse (he doesn't even destroy the system solar). They have exaggerated that part.
Superman here is composite with Pre-crisis, Post-crisis, new52, rebirth, frontier, etc... They say that all of them merged into current one. But this is false because Superman Infinite Frontier only gets the experience and memories of his past lives, not his powers, abilities, and feats.
Death Battle should be less parcial. I don't care if Goku loses, but they act badly, always erring in favor of Superman. 😠
The thing with Goku he can be blow up or run out of ki our energy .Superman dont have weakness unless you bring up kryptonite or Goku destroy the sun so he can beat Superman easily but will die at the same time 🤷♂️
These are the types of reactions I LOVE with DEATH BATTLE. Someone who just enjoyed the fight, despite they're a fan, understood why they were so and so lost.

One of the biggest differences between Superman and goku, and just characters from DC and dragon ball, is the difference in age and cosmology. DC has been around for about 90 years and has a complex cosmology in their universes, and multiverse. Everything goku and dragon ball is getting into with multiverse adventures, DC has already done and been doing for years. The gap is really just too big. Personally I don't see goku ever reaching that level with how the db cosmology is and the difference in experience. That's how it is with comics(mainly DC and marvel) vs anime, comics have been around way longer. That's why comics generally win so much of these death battles, not because of bias or favoritism, but because of age and experience.
