- [SPOILERS] The ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ film directed by Ron Howard and starring Alden Ehrenreich, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Woody Harrelson, Paul Bettany, Thandie Newton, and the voices of Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Jon Favreau premiered last week. The film is an adventure into a dark criminal underworld, where Han Solo meets his future copilot Chewbacca and encounters Lando Calrissian years before joining the Rebellion. There is not much known in canon about Han Solo’s backstory but have there been hints in the trailer that allude to some of the Legends tales that have been told about Solo’s origin? Mark Reilly is here to guide you through everything you need to know about Han Solo before you walk into your local theater when it opens this weekend. He poured through a ton of research to create this video and find the facts necessary to support his theories.

I fall into the camp of " I want to see it, but refuse to give money to Krazy Aunt Kathleen". I think I can wait till Aug/Sept for the blu-ray.

Additional points: (1) This is the second SW movie in history that revolves around FUEL issues. The first one being TLJ. (2) The Nerd Crew have already made a reaction video to this movie. And it is something spectacular, with vicious parodies, character arcs, a genuine drama, and bitter irony.
To be honest I don’t really understand the ‘low stakes’ complaint. I mean I do but seriously if *EVERY* threat is a cataclysmic event then it just numbs the effect of it because we know every time it’s gonna be something bigger and that ultimately ruins the impact.
A small scale story on the lines of Ant Man, SpiderMan Homecoming And Deadpool 2 is frankly what I’m looking for right now.
So if they do it right then who knows I may enjoy it.
Not really a person who likes being cynical to a movie I haven’t seen, I always remain skeptical at the most

jedimario22 the want to see is based on a whole 13,000 people, most of whom are trolls on social media who went to vote not interested because they're trolls or think they're being trendy. 13,000 people compared to the millions who will go see it. I mean, c'mon.

Even though the reviews are mostly positive, I'm seeing mixed reactions towards the "low stakes" and "unnecessary" nature of the movie. But honestly, that's EXACTLY what I'm looking forward to. Whether it's Star Wars or superheroes, I don't want the universe in peril all the goddamn time. It gets tiresome. If Solo is the fun western/heist movie it's being billed as, then I'll be happy. No one's expecting much here...just be solid.
gokinsmen yeah I'm actually excited that this is the first Star Wars movie that doesn't have major galaxy-wide stakes, and that it's the only Star Wars movie besides Phantom Menace where the galaxy doesn't end up at war.

Like you talk about heist movie, ocean eleven only stakes is a bunch of dudes trying to make money / get revenge yet nobody called it low stakes or unnecessary ? If a star wars movie with Han solo can't find something meaningfull as a purpose that's not saving the universe then it means that the movie was indeed unnecessary

Im pretty sure this will be better than TLJ. You heard it here first. Maybe the best out of all the disney Star Wars movies. Fingers crossed! Although it would be hard to top Rogue One, that is an INSTANT classic.

Got my tix for Saturday. Unlike some mindless trolls, I'm going to, you know, actually see the movie before saying whether "it sucks" or not. RT is at 70% which is what I'm expecting from this film. I expect it will be good, but not great and THAT IS OK! Not every movie needs to be "the best ever!" and an OK movie is not "the worst movie ever". Frankly, I'm glad I won't be sharing the theater with men who can't get over the fact that women have significant roles in the new films.
