What a lot of fun reading! My kids enjoyed the Little House series as well. I don't know that i ever read them the Secret Garden, though, which is a shame!

My brother loved the Little House series and the TV show. He pastaway 2 years ago unexpectedly at 49 yrs old. Each year, I try to do something on his birthday to honor him. I had never read the Little House series, so I started it in February for his birthday. I'm almost done with Farmer Boy. My plan is to read one book a month so I have it done by the end of the year.
Yeah, the Brontës are typically a lot darker than Austen! Agreed! What even is the point of Princess and the Pea? All fairytales ever: "This is nothing like the Disney movie!" 😂😂😂😂😂 I've been wanting to read Never Fall Again and When the City Sleeps!
You're at the best part now in Agnes Grey. I couldn't stand those kids at the first house either. 😅 But yes the whole story is quiet and slow. I love the book tho.
