I love Mansfield Park! Fanny is my favorite Austen heroine ❤ that's something I love about Jane Austen as well, that her stories are so deep. You can always find something new.
What's so funny is I literally just finished editing my Mansfield Park review and am going to post it next week. I really enjoyed your review of it - it wasn't scattered at all! And also, you know this because we already talked at length, but I totally agree with you on all points. I say very much the same things. Great video!
Of the four you've read, my ranking would be Emma, Persuasion, Northanger, Mansfield. But I love them all so much! It's like asking me to pick my favorite Narnia book. I can do it, but it feels like an insult to the ones I don't pick. 😂😂😂
I am currently reading Sense and Sensibility. I have read Pride and Prejudice and Northanger Abbey. I need to read the other three still. But I feel like I need to reread Pride and Prejudice now that I am used to her writing. Her books are very comforting to me right now! I really enjoyed this! 😊
Yes, I love her books. Such great spring reads too. I would love to hear your thoughts after you finish! I feel the same way about Persuasion(my first by her)- I need to reread it since I’ve gotten used to her writing style.
Looking forward your thoughts of her other books.❤❤ I read some of her most famous books a long time ago, right now I’m collecting them. I need to reread them, to know which one is my favorite.
I love hearing the POV of people who love Mansfield Park the most. It’s actually one of my least favorite of all her books but I do still love it. I think Fanny is a strong character in that she has strong moral values and isn’t afraid to stand up for what she thinks is right. For me I think the romance is flat and I don’t care for Edmund. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on Pride and Prejudice.
I liked the romance - just wish the ending was better! I know a lot of people don’t care for it though. I am reading P&P this month! I’m really interested to see how it stands against the rest that I’ve read! Thanks for watching!
It's neat that Mansfield is the fourth for both of us. You did make sense and I always enjoy a good Austentanious discussion. 🤓 You are right. There's so much more to Fanny than meets the eye. I appreciated her calm, shy personality (I'm very shy!), and how she spoke up if integrity was ever in question. I wrote my MP review on Goodreads yesterday or the day before and mentioned several of your points. Like, how loved Edmund looked after her so well and how the novel's ending was stretched out and then stopped in such an odd way. I'll have to see if we are already friends on Goodreads. Let me know what you think if you watch the 1983 adaptation. Good job!
❤

Yes, so many things to learn from them!

Yes! They are so hard to rank. All so good but for different reasons!

Yes, I am loosely collecting them too. I think after I read all of them, I’ll still have a hard time picking a fav!

Loved this review! I need to re-read Mansfield Park, it's been years!

What’s your username on Goodreads? I’ll try to find you! It IS neat that we both read it this past month and it was our fourth Austen!
I started the 1983 adaption but I haven’t gotten very far. I plan to go back and finish it soon.
