This is a quick start video to learn the design process of wall bracing for wood-framed residential construction.
Some example calculations are shown by hand and simultaneously shown using the IRC Wall Bracing Calculator. Solutions to some common complications are also shown. And some tips are given for those wishing to create an optimized plan. IRC version 2021 is featured, but the fundamental process applies to other code years and most regional building codes too.

Fix your let in brace detail. It has been wrong for decades.

I would call it a sketch, not a detail, but I agree it is not the best. I suggest making your recommendation to ICC because I have no control over the IRC itself.
