In this video, I show you how to make a very easy infinite string farm that gives a lot of string and doesn't require a lot of recourses!
This tutorial shows you how to make an EASY Infinite String Farm In Minecraft 1.20, but it also works on older versions! With this farm, you can get tons of string in Minecraft. This is an infinite string farm. You can build this in survival.

Alrigt guys im here to clear everything up for you guys, after struggling for 15 minutes to get it working on 1.20.1 on a PUBLIC server, it finally works. Everyone is saying you have to build it south, so the hoppers have to face south into the chests. so basically north. If u build it north and it doesnt work do it the exact opposite. It should work

@@DarkEditz-gn7nn than you're doing sth wrong, i made this farm again yesterday and it works.
I have built this contraption in all 4 directions and I think I have figured out why it sometimes doesn't work. It appears to depend above which trap door the switch is. If you find it not working, just flop the block and switch that activate the trap doors. Hopefully this helps.

This farm gets you
4 string per second
14440 string per hour
You can sell string to a fisherman (20 / emerald). That gets you 720 emeralds per hour
That's 11 stacks of ems per hour and 80 emerald blocks per hour.
So... With this farm you can obtain full emerald beacon in 2 hours and 3 minutes!!!
You can trade to a fletcher for 13

for some reason it doesnt work its facing south i did all the same block placements and it still doesnt work
try north
btw if you let to many string bid up it will crash your game until you deleted all items on your ground

The trapdoors are not in the materials list
tried it facing in every direction, still doesnt stay on, if it doesnt work in multiplayer lmk

for your info: the CHESTS have to be facing south from the rest of the machine. the mechanism faces north. its like an arrow that faces north.

Works like a charm, just make sure to build it so the hoppers face south into the chests!
Excellent farm, works perfectly fine u can also get Infinite emeralds by trading strings by fishermans

Water need to flow EAST, and you need to be very quick with cuting und activating it really needs to be fast. Tested with 1.20.1 Java. Works
Cutting the cord with the shears never worked for me, but flipping the lever up (to turn it off) did the trick. More sting than I will ever use! (Java, 1.20.4)

1.20.2 java doesn't work for some reason, at first i thought it was because of papermc, because that fixes a bunch of glitches, rn im on forge 1.20.2 and it doesb't work

latest update 1.20.4 java- It works. If doen't for you, don't be afraid. Try rebuilding the fram and doing the steps again as it didn''t worked for me in first time..

It’s duping the string but only once then you have to reset it I have tried building it in both north and south and it won’t work

Water needs to flow east so you have to build the farm facing west
you need to get the timeing of lever down and then it does it infinitely
Guys you have to try both trapdoor placement it doesnt matter where you build it

It works but remeber to build it facing south and break the string closeset to the lever
yo ty man. I made it facing north and I wasn't sure why it wasn't working. Switched it to south and instantly worked.
Really good video! I had to look at the pinned comment to see what was wrong with it since it wouldn't work when i first built it, but after that it worked great.

edit: I was also playing on my dedicated server so that could also be a factor
I saw another comment saying switch the lever with the block to the other trapdoor. I had the same problem now it works
Sure does work after reading comments and pointing hoppers south, I hate to cheat but I need a lot of string to make scaffolding for a shulker shell farm

It's a glitch, at NO point are you supposed to be able to get near infinite resources from so little effort. Now if i want to learn about string i have to look up how to make a spider farm! xD @@mrjaxy6125
Think of it like a loom. With sheep shears, you should be able to make string from wool blocks.

It doesn’t work anymore I tried it and when I brake the string with a shear and switch the lever it doesn’t do anything
works in 1.20.1 JAVA ONLY
HOWEVER
- make sure you're facing south (the front is where the chests are)
- use F3 and check the left side to find which way your facing.
- follow EXACTLY the placements of how the video shows you!

You might be building it on a chunk border... Try making it inside the chunk
Many dupers don't works if build on the border

easy to build and very efficient! now this is what a tutorial should be.
1 think people u cant extend this farm at all using redstone or atleast without repeaters havent tried that but u gotta do them seperately if u want more
Works 20.4, make sure it faces south. Made in 1 minute and perfect for trades!

Did you do it in single player? Bc I tested it in multiplayer and it did not work
Yes, it works for me in 1.20.4. Remember to build it towards north (the water should flow towards south direction) and another thing I noticed is that it doesnt work when I use wood blocks to build the farm, So to be on a safer side build it with stone/cobblestone.

I tried it alot and still it doesn’t work on 1.20.4
This actually worked! Switching the planks to cobble fixed everything!

Simply Amazing and it works on Java. At first I thought I had to place the machine looking south ( chests nearest me ) that failed. I then rebuilt it opposite me looking north ( chests nearest me ) and it's amazing Thx.

it sure duplicates the string but only one time bc trapdoors doesn't block the water.
it's kinda annoying to place the string every time
and brake a string then pull a lever in specific time to duplicate :(

Still working in 1.20.4 but like people below said if it doesnt work the first time you have to rebuild it in the opposite direction ( if you built it toward east then you have to build it toward east )

It doesent work on a paper server. Is it normal? It worked while the server was vanilla though

Does it work with any trap door? The water only lets me dupe once even though im on single player, facing south, and version 1.20.1, i dont think optifine ruins anything, and it does the same thing with just the base game. Is there a graphics setting or math/world loading setting i need to change?

I think its because you are on bedrock edition because the physics are different between java and bedrock

guys, listen to what the people in the comments are saying. i'm on 1.20.1 java edition on a realm, and this farm DOES WORK. when standing in FRONT of the farm (looking at the string, trapdoors, lever etc.) you are supposed to be facing NORTH. if you're facing any other direction, it won't work. i struggled with this and had to rebuild the farm 3 times, but i guarantee you it works as long as you're facing the right direction

@@Marindodoush then you have either built the farm incorrectly, or you’re not cutting the string and pulling the lever at the right time. it’s not patched, i can literally go on my vanilla realm right now and get it started.

for 1.20.1 you need to face the south and you need to use shears is really important to use not by the hand :)

It doesn't work on Forge, but in vanilla 1.20.6 it works. If it doesn't work, put your farm facing north, it works.

yes it does, you have to build the farm so that the hoppers face south, I also believe this is java only so if you are in bedrock that could also be the reason

Works fine. Need be facing north while looking at trapdoors. Also there is specific timing to have between the cut of the wire and flicking the lever.

This doesnt work if you are using forge for any mods!!!! If you are, heres the fix:
Step 1, Close your minecraft completely
Step 2, Open minecraft in the regular version, example: 1.19, MAKE SURE YOU ARENT LAUNCHING IN FORGE!!!
Step 3, Open your minecraft world, place the string down, get the farm to work.
Step 4, Re-open minecraft now in forge and the farm will continue to work!!!
