Simply speedruns SM64 as Sonic. Not a sentence I thought I would be typing, but here I am. Simply played as creators such as Alinity, Emiru, and STPeach were running around the house in Austin, TX. Simply mario speedrun rom hack was almost as cool as Mizkif OTK's Loot Golbins. When am I invited? Clint Stevens is always invited to do SM64 challenge runs with me. Or we can do some SM64 races and get the Mario 64 World Record in the 120 star catagory. Big secret: I'm going to be getting the world record soon and then post a new Simply 120 Star World Record video. That would be epic. Anyways, should I try speedrunning SM64 as sonic for real and what my person best would be? Let me know :smile: - Zábava

@KIAN No offense it doesn't come close to the idea of a free range sonic game with platform levels literally everything is linear pathing in generations or unleashed, even better than sonic 06 since it loads faster

this rom hack is actually so sick, there's sonic team level quality in his movement and polish. Not that sonic devs are top tier but still.
I’m genuinely curious about the end sequence that shows sonic, did they have to recreate all those shots or are all of those shots actively rendered?

@@SullySadface Dude, the only really bad 3D Sonic games are Forces, Boom and 06, can people please stop acting like the majority of Sonic is terrible whenever it’s only like 3 games.
Edit: I’m talking 3D games, a lot of the bad 2D ones are mostly just alright like Sonic 1 and 2 Master System version. Also, Sonic Lost World is a mixed bag but with at least the 3DS version it can be pretty enjoyable, just thought I’d say that.
But if you want a list of bad 2D Sonic games; Knuckles Chaotix, Sonic Advance 2 is more spectacle over substance so it’s decent at best, Sonic 4 Ep. 1 and 2, basically like 3/4ths of Forces it has a lot of 2D, Sonic Blast Game Gear or Master System or whatever, and both Sonic Drift games are just meh.

This needs ring sprites for the coins, Sonic to be invulnerable with 1 or more Rings, one hit kill at zero rings.
Damage sets rings to zero and pops a handful of rings around you similar to how a Moneybag drops coins when killed.
you can change the health system which makes everything you just said except change the coin sprites. it is optional because it makes the game really difficult.
could also change bowser to dr eggman.
@@thodds68 or easier. Sonic's system can effectively give you infinite health if your quick to grab a ring.

@@GiuseppeGaetanoSabatelli there are 100 coin stars in every level. It would make the game a lot harder, not dying to enemies is already easy in vanilla mario 64.
My favorite part is how the letter from Peach still says Mario, but every character says Sonic (including Peach at the end). It actually makes her surprise at seeing -Mario- Sonic more believable, since she was expecting Mario.

@@koen632 I don’t understand why people act like the entirety of Sonic games are terrible whenever it’s only like 3 or 4 of the games. Those games being Forces, Boom, 06, and Sonic 4. I didn’t list Lost World because it’s a mixed bag, some of the stages are actually pretty cool.

As a person who has played at least 1 3d sonic game before, I can confirm Sonic likes to run off of edges when you're trying to stay on them whilst attempting to either slow down or stand still

The first 7 100 coin Stars in this are actually replaced with Chaos Emeralds, if you get all 7, you can actually turn into Super Sonic upon getting 50 Rings and doing a midair bounce!
