Here’s something good about Galaxy’s controls: they are so smooth the handheld mode imo. The controls feel similar to Odyssey's but being able the triple jump wall kick or side flip then spin just feels so good and makes you feel like a badass playing the game!

For 2002 the gamecube was ahead of it's time
When I started playing this, I could now spray F.L.U.D.D.’s nozzle while running at full speed so it was a lot easier to stop Shadow Mario.

Having to go back to the beginning of the world upon a game over in the SNES one got quite annoying, but it was really good that you could save.
Well if they didn’t do that, lives would be pretty much pointless. Look at lost levels it means pretty much no penalty for getting game over except for losing the checkpoint. Oh nooooooooo /s

I finally realized what made Sunshine and 64 so great. They both always had a "central world" you could return to. It was like a home base, but also included dozens of secrets of its own. For Sunshine, it was all of Delfino Plaza. For Super Mario 64, it was all of Peaches Castle. When Galaxy came out, they got rid of this, pretty much. I wouldn't call that little sphere with nothing to do on it a "home base". And in Odyssey, the only "central" place is his little airship. A single room. Because of this, jumping aimlessly from one forgettable world to the next, especially since it was fast travel, made the game feel so "disconnected". Jumping through a painting or a portal to reach each different part was so much more gratifying for me.

They never said they were gonna be remakes people just assumed that and got hyped like idiots
brawlstarsgamer 101 but it’s Super Mario 64, the most influential 3D platformer that was ahead of its time. If they weren’t held back my technical limitations imagine how amazing the game would’ve been. Just a visual overhaul and 60fps matching to what the devs intended back in 1996, and this would’ve been the greatest remake of all time.

Everyone knows what Super Mario 64 is, but know one has yet to see the hidden potential behind the limitations of the game. Imagine a new definitive version of Super Mario 64, with new stars, levels, and secrets, the ability to customize controls, better models, a circular thomps fortress like in the painting. The fact that they didn't capitalize off of this is just a shame. I didn't exactly expect them to do all that, it really was all wishful thinking, but the fact that it could've been done is what boggles my mind. The had an oppurtunity to make something huge, but this just goes to show that Nintendo instead of just putting these games on a virtual console, for the switch, doesn't really care too much about their history. I mean its not that big of a deal, it just a shame.

For Super Mario 3D All-Stars, this is my very first time playing Mario Sunshine
I stumbled across this dudes videos a few years ago now and again, but just got into a kick of watching them like a week ago. Dude has me from being entertained from the triggered series, to getting emotionally wrapped up in this fictional story line, about him and himself, pretending to be brother's. All because he wants to have a clever delivery of normal happenings in his life. Im feeling conflicted tonight man😅

The only thing mindblowing about this collection is a 24 year game isn't running at 1080p 60 fps despite Galaxy running at that.
2:00 the only downside of saving your progress is that your score resets to 0 when you come back to the game and if you saved in the middle of a world, let’s say you saved and quit on Level 2-3, when you reload the game, you start back on 2-1

I remember playing 64 and sunshine on their original consoles as a kid. Seeing them ported like this brings me back to my youth. I miss the 90s/early 2000s. Such a different time like the whole era had a certain feeling to it that hasn't been felt since. I'm glad I grew up in the 90s
