FREEDOM đ«đ· - LOST FINGER & BIG CARP tales - Mark Bryant & Mike Holly
VloĆŸit
- Äas pĆidĂĄn 25. 01. 2023
- Mike and Mark head off on an adventure in search of freedom while fishing some Public Waters in France. What a trip it turns out to be, Mike nearly lost a finger đ, they both catch COVID but despite the struggle it comes good in the end with a few BIG CARP. It's raw at times but it was a trip of mixed emotions, an angling memory we'll never forget.

Brilliant effort
It's refreshing to see just how hard our sport can be!đ
I think it's easy to see the best bits in films mate but as you know that never tells the true story behind the success I guess. Glad you enjoyed it mate.
Absolutely nailed that intro Mark. Echoes my own feelings and thoughts exactly.
Great video chaps , looked like a gruelling few days but well worth it with them two fish , that cut looked nasty!!
Well done đđ» and as usual looking forward to the next video đđ»
Cheers Jon, yes it was one to remember mate thats for sure!
Great watch, warts and all.
Cheers mate, glad it was watchable :)
Listened to the podcast of the trip and the tales of calamity made me smile at the time. Fair play for your resilience that was rewarded in the end, I would have been back home by thenđđ.
Cheers mate, I tell you what I wanted to go home at numerous stages in that trip but for some crazy reason we kept going!
Really good watch guys and a good insight to that style of fishing. Great that your not just showing the highlights and exactly what I pictured after listening to the podcast đđ»đđ»
Cheers Nathan, glad it was watchable mate. All the best.
Get in boys .... dug deep on what looked like a very hard trip ... stinking colds and severed fingers (not the smartest move with braid) lol .. however effort equals rewards. Good watch đ

Absolutely brilliant lads, thanks for making these films â€
No worries Jamie, it was a bit raw at times but glad it was watchable.

Fair play gents. Got to say, you're better men than me. If I'd felt that rough I would have checked myself into a hotel! I'll stick to the waterpark đ. Gareth

cheers mate, it was testing for sure! back with better luck next time mate.
Was looking forward to this after listening to the podcast. Fair play to you both.
Cheers Spencer, yes it was a rather testing trip but hopefully we've got the bad luck out the way now and learnt loads to take onto the next trip.
Great video! I really wanted you to catch from that canal at the end!đ

Fantastic video can you share the location of these public lakes or not hope your both better now đđ»
Glad you enjoyed it Michael, out of respect we'd not name venues mate but if you fancy that sort of adventure google earth is all you need and the best part of it is not knowing everything. All the best
Another lovely put together film mikeđđđ Effort equals reward, well done markđđȘ
cheers mate, a bit rough round the edges but we got something to savour in the end mate. Hope all is well your end mate
@@BaitworksTV rough and ready, shows the highs and lows, warts and all. Tough out there, so hats off for the perciveranceđ Yes mate all good this endđ
Just trek down to Cassien next time đ
Great watch. Whatâs the opening sound track please
đ€
Howâs the hand đ€ now .amazing đ€© video again best bait on the market
cheers Lee glad you enjoyed it mate. The hand is ok now, I have a few scars to remind myself of Mark lol but we'll survive mate.
Now you have started to go to France, does that mean you will start offering larger sized boilies?
Weâve always had the big baits planned for this year mate so yes weâll be offering larger baits soon Matt.
Seriously dudes, if I can make a suggestion. Never go out together in a boat. You'd be amazed at just how often tackle gets nicked that way. That would be another disaster you don't need.
Indeed mate, at that stage we only had the boat out and a few bits. The rest was all safe in the van mate đȘ
Rural france mate, it's not London. You can't live your life in fear. I fish solo and ive never felt worried by that senario
@ piscatorian, that's what everyone says until it happens ... it only takes once.
I've been bivvied up and a venue bailiff was in peg next-door and he had his scales, sling and mat and barrow nicked one night, luckily I've not had that happen to me, and after that year I fished large pits alone around Yorkshire and always got through unscathed, but I know many lads that have lost everything outside there bivvy in the middle of the night. đ
@@technomickdocumentalist2495 I know of 2 cases where it's happened. Lads have gone out in a boat to drop rigs or play fish and come back to an empty bivvy. I'm not saying how likely it is to happen, I'm saying it can and does happen. But if there is any possibility of avoiding it, then why not.
Another great video guys . A proper carp adventure is never without its ups and downs. Itâs all part of the journey. Throughly enjoyable watch . Keep them coming. âOther baits work but baitworks harderâ.
#ITWORKS âïž
Cheers Joey, glad you enjoyed it mate! all the best
Atrocious diets when I lived in Britain, never been that sick eating normal food. Crisps arenât food lads.
What in the wet lettuce have I just watched made fishing look like hell nothing but moaning throughout đ€Łđ€Šââïž
That week was Hell lol
@@BaitworksTV đđđ
Clean your lens/filter mate đ
Indeed mate! Sadly only realised when we watched it back, mud got everywhere! Wasnât going to release the Vlog but thought why not, a bit of mud on the lense and all đ
Had the makings of a great film - the sound quality made me can it - what's the point of segments of speaking to camera with no sound - i appreciate it was a gruelling trip but as a carper with severe hearing loss that struggles at the best of times the sound quality just p@ÂŁ$ed me off.
Sorry Andy, Iâm unsure what bits had no sound? As far as Iâm aware if we talk to the camera the sounds always on mate.
@@BaitworksTV Embarrassingly my bad...... Sorry guys. Some of your dialogue to camera was obviously not stereo sound and was only on the right hand channel....unbeknownst to me the MacBook i was watching on had a faulty right hand speaker so no sound was played on that side - hence the silence! my shite hearing and I couldn't tell it wasn't working. đ€Šââđ€Šââđ€Šââ
@@dfc70 No worries mate, you had me worried for a minute lol
Hope you guys realise that you just cant fish anywhere on most lakes and you were in the out of bounds area on the first lake you fished if the garde de peche come down ( which they regularly do on that lake) you would of got a âŹ450 fine and also fined for every rods that was out further than 100m! TBH you boys seemed a bit out of your depth and need to do a bit more research! its a bit more hardcore on those ressy's than the water park chaps đđ
Had no idea mate, no signs and anglers fishing the same bank, in fact we went in behind anglers and seen the guards with no issues? As you pointed out the publics all have various rules, def easy to get caught out đ
@@BaitworksTV yeah there is a night zone further along in the trees one up the top end by the island and one opposite side towards the dam you are limited to fishing 100yrs range at that lake and you were in watersports area which is a reserve there is a federation de peche website for every department in france that states the fishing zones rules and regulations within the department! no offence guys but it does annoy me that english anglers who enforce strict rules on their own lakes are quite happy to break rules and go poaching out of bounds for a glory fish when there in someone else's country! there seems to be more and more of this type of angling going on now and sooner or later someone will be having a long walk back to england! The french GDP have tightened up a lot on the rule breaking these day and if you get caught the fines are massive! just sayingđ
Fed up of watching fishing video s when all they do is moan and complain how hard everything is.
Don't watch it then mate lol
You mean watching reality carp fishing? Not some edited film that only shows the best bits?
Always enjoy both of your videos guys, nice to see you fish together. Really enjoyed the video đ
Cheers Guy, yes we ironically don't fish together that much but we'll try and do more of that this year mate
â@@BaitworksTVI look forward to it đ
well done lads you put the graft in and was eventually rewarded with 2 bangersđđđđ
We should have caught more mate but we just ran out of energy really and crashed but hey it was one to remember! lol
@@BaitworksTV That mud would have done my nut in
