SOLI DEO GLORIA! - Hudba
It's been a LONG time since I've done a full partscaster build, and this one is...pretty unique lol!
Let me know what you thought of the tones!
Enjoy :)
Sounded very cool ngl.
wondering how it will sound like with a plastic neck though, like the whole thing is 3d printed.. just hoping it won't pop out once you string it
I've noticed something about you... you're always happy. What's your secret lol
I'm liking the new 3d Strat buddy, pretty cool!!
It wouldn’t be flush, but flipping the Jack plate upside down would allow you to use on and not need a 90°. A satin black one would match the build well. Nice thinking though on how to make your own!! Dig the neon green! Sounds great and a comparison with a wood SStrat would be cool to hear the differences.
Sounds fantastic, just hard to get used to a guitar without a wood body.
I really like Darrell when he demo the tones...every time he uses a different riff, and every riff is amazing! This gentleman is a credit to the entire planet! Awesome human being...
The tone plastic debate rages on. Sounds really great no matter what's holding it together.
Tone plastic... love it!
Yeah tonewood is nothing compared to toneplastic 😂😂
The hardware and what it plugs into is 95% of the sound of any guitar anyway
I'm building a physical model of an electric guitar which is basically using software to replicate how it sounds on a computer and honestly the tone isn't affected by the body of the guitar for a fixed bridge pickup. It's only really relevant for an acoustic.
@@profjb58 like a mathematical model? Anyway what you write makes sense to me. Wonder why we bothered with heavy mahogany guitars, etc.
Can you imagine how freaky a true temperament neck would look if it were scalloped?
Now thats a cursed image!
AND Multiscale!
Oh no
@@silas0403 a scalped fanned true temperment fret with microtonal fanned frets
HI there, you can get a TT neck scalloped and with multiscale...
Let the “tone-plastic” wars commence!
I always felt that super strats had one Bridge Humbucker, and two single coil pickups with a Floyd Rose trem...but this guitar is wild! Really cool video.
When I think of a superstrat I think of a guitar with a strat style body and an HSH or HH setup.
I thought of guitars with a sharper and more pointy strat shape and an HSS setup as superstrats as well, but I saw a Fender strat with an HSS setup just as an "HSS Stratocaster".
Maybe it's just a me thing and I don't know the definition of a superstrat. But when I think of a superstrat it has to be more different in shape and/or setup than a regular strat with an HSS setup
Was waiting for this for months! Thank you Darrell
Some people install their strat jack plates inside out. It seems like it would be easier and more stable than cutting a pickguard section.
I was going to suggest the same thing.
I suggested that as well haha.
Just made that same suggestion.
I really like that output jack solution! I think it suits the guitar. A non-traditional jack for a non-traditional body/build. It would be extra cool if you could find some matching pick-guard material for the jack!
Excellent demo! Great build, like the tones that are coming out.
Obsidian isn't really all that expensive. For a regular Strat, or Tele, configuration, both were listed at only $83. I looked them up a couple of months ago, because I'm gonna mod my Strat. I remembered you saying how expensive they were. I was expecting like $150-$200.
Edit: I think your solution to the jack is kickass! It goes along with the craziness. You should just keep it that way. It reminds me of Eddie's wild cut up pickguard.
OH WOW! This axe sounds freakin' phenomenal! Killer job Darrell! The argument about tone woods is dead!
The HSS config is $150 Canadian... not cheap by any means. Still, for those who aren't keen on soldering, it's a great solution.
@@MarcCoteMusic Indeed!
$83 compared to getting all the parts yourself for like $15 and soldering it can be expensive for some, especially those just trying to make a repair or a single upgrade. If you are trying to make a high quality full build, I don’t think it’s too bad to budget into the build.
This is my new favorite tone wood.
That is a wicked awesome partscaster. Like the wiggly frets. If you owned something like this 20 years ago you'd have been world famous.
Looks awesome darrell! I'm really excited to see how this could influence the future of guitars. Keep up the good work!
Very nice build. Love to see that you came up with a simple solution with the input jack!!! I even think that the black plate looks better than a regular metal one. And if you can print it to make it like a strat input jack, it will look even better!!!
Neon strings might look cool. Great video Darrell, I really enjoy your videos, thank you
That was great, thanks Darrell!
another great build. thanks for introducing me to obsidian as well. saves heaps of time and good quality.
The tones are amazing what a sick piece, pretty neat
Sounds fantastic. Looks unique and kickass
That is one wild guitar! I love DiMarzio pickups, 36th anniversary pafs are my favorite! Keep up the good work!
Nice job! Excellent choice on the pickups!
Awesome video! You have some of the best guitar content on CZcams. Thanks!
Great work, DB. That looked fun.
I do love me some tone plastic. Very interesting guitar and very unique. Cool build!
Looks crazy, sounds great and has one of the most interesting bodies and necks I have ever seen.
I think it sounds amazing! I was surprised and very impressed. Great job!
That split tone was very nice. Pretty crazy looking build, but I like it. Good job!
Super cool man. Looks and sounds fantastic. Bravo.
You’ve heard of tone woods
Get ready for tone Filaments
Welcome to modern Guitar arguments
Cool build. My favorite part is actually the wiring harness-it is just so clean and nice.
Very nice ! My son in law printed the same body with 3 single cutouts, in the same color. I've had it for months wondering if it would sustain well. Now I must build it. Thanks for the motivation !
That Beats All!!! Amazing design!!
That thing looks and sounds amazing! I’d be happy to play that.
Thanks Darrell for the great content.
Amazing sound! Great job.
Thanks Darrell for including the Sophia 2:22 Standard Pro on that build -- love back!

Thanks👍 for waching...
I like it! Nice build Darrell 👍
I have been waiting this for so much time!!!
Dude, that jack is actually fine. Many people use Bluetooth transmitter/receiver, which would fit well.
Looks awesome
Love the mustang knobs, nice touch
This is great! Those dimarzio's sound awesome! I was unaware they do a quick connect now! That's awesome!

For the output jack issue, you could just flip the mounting plate over so instead of the dish going down into the body, it sticks out. It may not be the best looking option ever, but it should work.
That was my thought too. Would look different enough to match but not that strange to be weird
I tried this on my squire strat and it works.
I think Alex Lifeson used to do that so he could use a 90 degree plug on his super strat.
Or he could have Dremmal'd out the body where there was interference. The plate would've covered it. I mean...he had a Dremmal...
Outstanding and interesting. I am impressed. Thank you Darrell
I am really interested in that tone comparison. Same neck, same pickups, same controls. Just a different body in a ABX blind test. Would be awesome. 👍🏻😎
I can't wait to buy a guitar from the PRS tone filament library
Cool Strat!!!
The combination of the Dimarzios and True Temperament neck sounds great. The 3D printed body has almost nothing to do with that.
"Tested: Where Does The Tone Come From In An Electric Guitar?"
That video completely proves that guitar body (or neck) materials have _zero_ impact on tone.
Great stuff. You are right it does seem to sound good even on my computer speakers. Nice job.
Crazy guitar. It sounds Awesome.
Dude! One of the best channels out there, this guitar deserves a HUM tribute, we'll pay a little bit more
I’m surprised by the tone here. Wow.
Great segment. 🤘🏻
Very cool idea and good Improvisation
This is a awsome stratocaster man wow.if I had one I'd want to call it stratocaster 3rd DEMENTION.GREAT work.ROCK ON👍
Awesome looks and killer tones 💪
Thanks for commenting message
The above👆let talk I have a gift🎁 for you
Pick-ups sounds amezing
I would love to have it. Fantastic.
Thats definitely a "Lamborghini" guitar. Love the mix.
Really enjoyed watching this fun build Darrell - sounds pretty spot on to me!
Certainly a unique guitar. Have you given it a name yet?
Reckon the look almost gives me some "CyberPunk" vibes :)
Quick cable solution: install the jack backwards into the jack plate.
☝️☝️🆙Thanks for watching, you have been selected among my lucky winners message me to claim your prize
That sounds pretty good man....,👍
clean
Clean tones awesome! 😅😅😅😅😅 👏👏👏👏
Sounds fantastic.
I think you should've just turned the output jack inside out, like some players do with their strats, it looks cool and unique and should fit the original "route".
That’s a great idea!
love the green tone plastic ;-)
So much for electric body tonewoods making such a large difference ... it's really the pickups, electronics, amp, cab and speaker that dominate. Which is the signal chain.
I certainly would want a Blue, Orange or Black one. I love it!👍
Sweeeeeeeet!
Tones really sounded good! Nice job on retrofitting the jack. I would ditch the amplifier looking black knobs and go with chrome knobs to match the cool looking bridge. Coupled with that zany neck ...what a head turner!
Darrell, simply take the strat jack plate (the stock metal plate) and flip it upside down and turn it 180. It should fit. The plate will stick up but the plug will go in same angle. Dremel tool the inside of the body to open it up a little inside so the plug tip fits. Just an idea.
This is killing the eternal discussion of tone wood.
Should've used the Vegatrem! But it's a great sounding killer build nonetheless! Another great episode Darrell!
Wow! STRATO-CLUSTER! 😄
Now people will argue over tone plastic
Super cool!
I've thought about building a guitar but have been afraid it would just be cheap. Watching this, it might be a lot of fun.
Certainly interesting.
Few teething issues, but that is to be expected.
Really interested to see the next iterations of this.
Cool! Resin is my favorite tone-plastic.
Of all your guitars, I liked that black flame top strat you built, the one with the abalone pickup covers! I'd love to make one just like that. But that 3d printed guitar sounds good. M
My TT neck, ordered Nov 2, finally shipped should arrive Dec 19.
You could flip the output jack all the way around and move the jack to the other side of the mounting plate, I have a couple of my strats like that. It allows me to use almost all 90 degree jacks
Cool as hell ! Like to see a wild les paul style build in this. My Dr does this type stuff. An this is even cooler. Like those hot pickups. But the fingers playing is what makes it great.
Very cool looking, sounds good to me.
Mount the Strat jack inside out. looks cool, keeps the cable angle
☝️☝️🆙Thanks for watching, you have been selected among my lucky winners message me to claim your prize
Dope, dope, DOPE!
flip the jack plate upside down - so round part faces out then you can plug in from bottom
Magnificent piece of art. Everything works well together. Unique and powerful. I like it. It doesn’t have as much QC issues as a new Gibson.
this is awesome! Definitely would love one of these! Looks like the 3D print company doesn't do guitars anymore?
Man had the perfect opportunity to 3D print a floyd rose
New drinking game! Take a shot each time he says "Yeah"!
That is wild. Not sure I would want to be seen on stage with it though. Thanks alot, that was a blast to see. It really doesn't sound bad. Look forward to the shoot out.
Oh, I absolutely would! Not with my (somewhat) more traditional Blues band, but for my other shows... definitely.
I already have a lime green Rhoads V so I would absolutely play this in any of the same contexts... but maybe I need at least one more normal strat for polite society lol
Maybe I was a bit too harsh. I do think the guitar is neat, just not sure I would pay money for one. Darryl does an awesome job on all of his builds. He sure plays a mean guitar too.
@@dickevans6601 - Nah, man... we all like what we like. Not every look is for everyone. Cheers.
I'm not a fan either - you're not the only one
For me this is the most exciting thing to happen in guitars since....the strat
Wow cool. Hopefully somebody could make a wood version of that kind of strat👍🏻
AWESOME!
Hi Darrel -- we can get you sorted further on the Sophia -- either a cold rolled steel StopBlock for vintage string thru or resize the brass base of the GT Pro to fit...

Thanks👍 for waching..
Excellent video thank you sir
It's definitely something different, BUT it really doesn't grab me. The honey comb structure just makes me think that bees are going to fly out of there any time. The new fret board with its crooked frets looks like something out of The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari movie. 😜 I must give you some praise for saving the output jack; I like the way that turned out. 👍👍👍
Makes that whole Nitro VS Poly argument seem pretty pointless.
Love your channel Darrell, thanks for the video.
Sounds great
drill holes through the jack cavity to meet tube the wires go through and drill and attach the input jack to the outside body fill in the old jack cavity holes and then it just looks like the other weight relief cavities all over the body
Interesting idea I'd like to try it.
