Here’s a very simple reason why this game’s player base is getting taken for a ride.
In this video, the author says “The funding has to come from somewhere.” That’s true-but anyone could have found real investors by showing the early crowdfunding achievements.
But real investors demand timelines and exit plans when they don’t get paid back. Hopeful players don’t, or at least can’t hold the company responsible in the same way. So the game developers continue to promise much and deliver little-because they can.
