What I love most about this, is that it was real. Your couch had a small piece of dark fuzz on it, your shower door was freshly wet, and your sheets weren't ironed. It's really comforting to see an influencer with a tiny kitchen and pantry in an area that is far away from the kitchen. That's the way my house is too. You made the best of the space and I feel more confident in my own space now

Love the spanish tile in your bathroom. That really stood out to me as being a more daring personalized choice. Something like that would look nice in moderation in a kitchen but, while you didnt do that kitchen, i do appreciate it as a palette cleanser

Most honest thing I've heard anyone admit on YT maybe ever: "I'm not secure enough to hear any constructive criticism..." Kudos to you for telling the unvarnished truth. So few people do that, and I respect it. Sophie is so so adorable and she looks great on your gorgeous cream couch. I hope we see Sophie in more content! I can't believe someone hasn't purchased your apartment already. There is not a single weak point in it, and no...not even those kitchen carts which could prove *very useful* for someone who spends a lot of time cooking 3 meals a day. You could have all the accouterments needed for all three meals 1) breakfast/juice/coffee cart 2) lunch/afternoon tea 3) aperitif/dinner/after dinner espresso/cocktail cart. Very civilized and a well-conceived idea by the previous owner, even if it wasn't quite to your lifestyle needs (it might be to a new buyer). This is just a perfect urban retreat where you can entertain close friends if desired. All it's missing is a tiny yard for little Sophie to roll in the grass.
That patio!❤ if I ever live in an apartment again I want one that big! I fell in love with Uncle Bill’s patio on Family Affair. Though I don’t believe they called it a patio.

The design is fantastic but what I love the most is that it’s the perfect amount of stuff for the size of your space. It’s not too much stuff and it’s not too little so it’s super pleasing to the eye. 🧡🧡 cannot wait to see you decorate a full house one day!
Being an avid cook, I think I would replace the trolleys in the kitchen with an under counter mini island. The kind with the worktop (stainless steel or butcher block?) and hidden storage. Because I know you love hidden storage! 😂

All about dark bathroom too! My tile guy grumbled all throughout installing our walk in shower, shaking his head and announcing to everyone that it was too dark….then when it was done he loved it. Even brought other people over to see it. Thank you for helping me be brave designing our new house.❤

Nick, what I like the most about your apartment is that there is no incongruity between it and yourself. I can see you in every room, even the kitchen, which as you say you didn’t design, but between accessories and perhaps its relationship to the rest of your space, it ties in, and also reflects. Not sure how you did that, but hats off for that accomplishment. And YESSS! I feel validated, I’m a lover of the dark bathroom. In 2010 I had the opportunity to renovate a primary bedroom/bathroom, the only time I’ve done that (like a to the studs, plumbing and wiring reno, rather than a fix up and decorate sort of thing) and I had this idea to create a zen grotto feeling in the bathroom, matte black linen finish porcelain tile, 2x2 on the floor, 1x2 for the shower walls, walls were a soft grey as was the quartz counter with a black granite vessel sink. It was the GOAT of en-suites. I’m currently renting but acting like I own the place, and I had this mid 2000s wall tile that looked OK, but I chose a paint colour that made it look like I chose the tile. And I painted the wall behind the mirror and lowered ceiling flat black, and stand by all these decisions, delighting when doubters enter the space and happily cross over to dark side.
I have to say that 12.20 is a very esthetic time to stop your clock at 😊 Much better than 11.55 or 7.35 😉 Love your videos! Very pedagogic and inspirational 🌟

Way to go on the spices! When researching kitchen design, I'd see a tiny shelf near the stove (bad idea) with two orange bottles on it (probably chili powder and cinnamon), and the author would say "Handy spice rack keeps spice right near." One day I counted my spices and I had 50.

My husband and I have decided to custom build our own home. We are still in the very beginning stages (ie - trying to find land and doodling layouts in my journal). I LOVE the idea of a little spice cabinet like that! I might add that to my next kitchen doodle :D I would love more videos on along the lines of dos/donts of house layouts! I'm trying to keep my house plans as feng shui balanced as possible! :D
I like his spice cabinet, but I love my spice drawer. I have deeper kitchen (80cm, not regular 60), behind the kitchen hub are shelves, under hub are drawers, including one, which is 20 high, and 80 deep, and is full of spices. I think I have more spices than my Indian friends.

I truly love your home. It has it all - unique warmth, style, and an incredible patio. The kitchen cabinets somehow work. Beautiful, warm walnut. The side chairs in your living room as well as your media cabinet (covet) are perfect. The clock! Yes, I very much like the clock. It is another unexpected that is simultaneously subtle and not so subtle. Thank you for an enjoyable 20 minutes!

Most honest thing I've heard anyone admit on YT maybe ever: "I'm not secure enough to hear any constructive criticism..." Kudos to you for telling the unvarnished truth. So few people do that, and I respect it.

I can't believe someone hasn't purchased your apartment already. There is not a single weak point in it, and no...not even those kitchen carts which could prove *very useful* for someone who spends a lot of time cooking 3 meals a day. You could have all the accouterments needed for all three meals 1) breakfast/juice/coffee cart 2) lunch/afternoon tea 3) aperitif/dinner/after dinner espresso/cocktail cart. Very civilized and a well-conceived idea by the previous owner, even if it wasn't quite to your lifestyle needs (it might be to a new buyer).
This is just a perfect urban retreat where you can entertain close friends if desired. All it's missing is a tiny yard for little Sophie to roll in the grass.

The design is fantastic but what I love the most is that it’s the perfect amount of stuff for the size of your space. It’s not too much stuff and it’s not too little so it’s super pleasing to the eye. 🧡🧡 cannot wait to see you decorate a full house one day!

Being an avid cook, I think I would replace the trolleys in the kitchen with an under counter mini island. The kind with the worktop (stainless steel or butcher block?) and hidden storage. Because I know you love hidden storage! 😂

All about dark bathroom too! My tile guy grumbled all throughout installing our walk in shower, shaking his head and announcing to everyone that it was too dark….then when it was done he loved it. Even brought other people over to see it. Thank you for helping me be brave designing our new house.❤

Nick, what I like the most about your apartment is that there is no incongruity between it and yourself. I can see you in every room, even the kitchen, which as you say you didn’t design, but between accessories and perhaps its relationship to the rest of your space, it ties in, and also reflects. Not sure how you did that, but hats off for that accomplishment.
And YESSS! I feel validated, I’m a lover of the dark bathroom. In 2010 I had the opportunity to renovate a primary bedroom/bathroom, the only time I’ve done that (like a to the studs, plumbing and wiring reno, rather than a fix up and decorate sort of thing) and I had this idea to create a zen grotto feeling in the bathroom, matte black linen finish porcelain tile, 2x2 on the floor, 1x2 for the shower walls, walls were a soft grey as was the quartz counter with a black granite vessel sink. It was the GOAT of en-suites.
I’m currently renting but acting like I own the place, and I had this mid 2000s wall tile that looked OK, but I chose a paint colour that made it look like I chose the tile. And I painted the wall behind the mirror and lowered ceiling flat black, and stand by all these decisions, delighting when doubters enter the space and happily cross over to dark side.
I agree, Nick's apartment is definitely a reflection of him.

It added so much character and happy color without being overwhelming, being balanced out with the white tiles. Even though that tile style has been around for a few years, it still looks great, and I think it would twenty years from now as well. It made a comeback because it is always timeless somewhere in the world.

Way to go on the spices! When researching kitchen design, I'd see a tiny shelf near the stove (bad idea) with two orange bottles on it (probably chili powder and cinnamon), and the author would say "Handy spice rack keeps spice right near." One day I counted my spices and I had 50.

My husband and I have decided to custom build our own home. We are still in the very beginning stages (ie - trying to find land and doodling layouts in my journal). I LOVE the idea of a little spice cabinet like that! I might add that to my next kitchen doodle :D I would love more videos on along the lines of dos/donts of house layouts! I'm trying to keep my house plans as feng shui balanced as possible! :D
I like his spice cabinet, but I love my spice drawer. I have deeper kitchen (80cm, not regular 60), behind the kitchen hub are shelves, under hub are drawers, including one, which is 20 high, and 80 deep, and is full of spices. I think I have more spices than my Indian friends.
The bathroom has simplistic mosque vibes. I like it!
