To get it shipped, did you just tell Weeks to ship it and they gave you a price or did you have to find the shipper?
I'm a say its going to have engine problems by that short glance at the end. But hopfully the simple fix kind, like a carb clean and general engine take apart and clean type thing and probably a few things will need replaced

@@Brettsgrasscapades Yessir! And you helped me on IG with buying that Toro Greensmaster I sent. I actually found out if you call your local Toro distributor. They have barns full of these things for cheap !
@@jordannarlock7995 sometimes they do! My local toro dealer had a bunch but none for less than $3k.

I guess these auction sites have a decent interest in making sure that their pics and descriptions of the mowers are pretty well true to reality. Otherwise, the general public wouldn’t trust them enough to bid up the price of the items. Not saying that it’s 100% guaranteed, but I would think that a 75% chance you’ll get a good mower from the descriptions and pics is a good guess.
I've been wishing someone would do a explanation video on Weeks... Thanks Brett this was great!!! I've always wondered where auction price ends.. We all hear the stories that people find them are $500 from FB market place or CL sadly I'm never that person that finds them...

Brad the deals are there you just have to be persistent I found a GM1600 on Craigslist 175 just upgrades last year for a John Deere 220 E cut 300 hours on the clock this thing is brand new another good place to ask is your local golf clubs after buying the John Deere local club called me they had four toro’s 250 each keep searching bud
I'd like to get my hands on a reel mower just to give it a try this year and see what it's like just for the experience

Saw the 1st video, now I saw the missing clip from the 1st. Thats not a bad deal for $740 hopefully it was worth it! I'm sticking to mowing tall but some day when I'm older reel mowing is something I will try. In the meantime its fun to watch and learn

I bought a Flex 21 at the December Weeks Auction in order to get the groomer. The groomer was trashed but I still got a decent deal on the mower after all the fees. Looking forward to following along and comparing notes.

A mower from Georgia to Washington is $ 250. To $300 . The Weeks auction is pretty cool. I've also looked at a Toro sit called Turf Star , they sell pre owened , demo units and new commercial units , but the costs will start at at least $1500.
This is significantly less than that but that a good thing to know!
Thanks for the video. I bought a 220b and gm1000 sight unseen from weeks. One needed fresh gas and the other needed a full carb cleaning and probably will need piston rings (smokes). 1600 OTD for both and both cut amazingly. I wouldn’t recommend buying them like I did, it helps to look at them first hand. Also learn to identify reel blade count. My gm1000 came with 14 blade reel and those are pretty much useless anything above 0.5”.
Lol I was bidding against you I bet. Shipping to my office was a good tip. I live in mobile Al and could drive but for couple hundred I would let them deliver it for sure. Glad you got one buddy.
Yeah for less than $200 the 8 hour drive wasn't worth it to me.
I'm Looking for the continuation of this episode! I'm also curious to know if you plan to add a HOC Kit -or- at least mention it for those of us wanting to mow between .297"-1.0" (7.5-25.4 mm).
I don't think I'll be adding the HOC kit but I will talk about it for sure.
I have a flex 21 and had to replace the reel clutch in that gearbox. So have fun with that, those clutches wear over time with golf course use

The problem with alot of eBay sales is that they won't ship even if the buyer pays.
That definitely is a problem! What a pain!
Yeah but you got to think though most of these people that are selling are just homeowners like us. I can ship anything under 20 lb after that I'm lost lol

Enjoed the video.I was hoping you would show some close-ups of the website you were strolling so we could see pictures. Also another price you need to mention is more than likely it's going to need a sharpen blade which can be pricey from what ive heard.. Your next yard mastery investment needs to be dock plates. ☺️

I bought a JD 180SL at the same auction and just picked it up from Weeks yesterday. I got a good deal on it, but she looks like she's seen better days. Would have been totally crazy if I tuned in to watch this video and you had been bidding against me. Fortunately, you weren't bidding on JDs that day.
