I'm a singer at my church in the choir and in a 12 person group. As a person that has been given talents from the Lord to use for his honor and glory I can truly say that this is an amazing version acapella of Mary did You know. It affected me. I love vocals with no music. It's beautiful how God made the voices to blend together so beautifully. We are nothing without God. We can't even take credit for our own talents because God is the giver of all talents. When I sing, something happens in my soul that just opens up to God. I love singing for the Lord and I thank him for the talents he has given me and I want him to use them for his honor and glory. I love seeing other people that are born again do the same. You can win souls with your singing talent. Music can get into people like nothing else, the right kind of music, godly music. I don't know if anybody noticed but it's worthy to be re-recognized that there was a gentleman that responded in the comment section that he said he was an old atheist and he said how this brought a tear to his eye every time he listens to it. No doubt, the Lord had a hand in that and perhaps now he's no longer an atheist. I would encourage all children of God to keep that man in prayer. God has a lot to work with there to bring him to repentance, to bring him to Jesus. He may not know it but Jesus is calling him to come home. Please pray for him. Thank you for this song. It is beautiful

Before this I thought the Pentatonix version was the best version and no one could top it, but Mark's voice has such a story teller quality to it, and Voctave's usual great mixing and control adds an ambience behind it all that is unmatched. I feel like I just saw a movie with Mark as the wise narrator telling us his story.
I'm an old atheist but I have listened to this a hundred times and it almost never fails to produce a tear. Stunningly beautiful in it's vocal purity and sung by a master who clearly believes every word.
Vic, Mark not only believes it, he knows it to be true. His voice is truly God given. I dont know you but it is my prayer that you find your way to God Through his Son Jesus Christ. I know you did not come on here to get preached at, but God truly does love you. No matter what, we do He wants to save us and have us reside in paradise with him for ever. A couple of people have mentioned that this version is better than Pentatonix. It’s honestly not even a contest. This quality and nuance of their harmonies make them truly special. The fact that the creator of this amazing song consented to sing this with them really says something. Mark was part of a group called the Gaither Vocal Band who’s harmonies and blending are the stuff of legends.
Who is the creator? Is it the lead vocal here? What's his name? Omg. I am in shock. Totally speechless. When I read the comment from the athiest above, the tears started flowing and havent stopped since.

@@marchyman3993 The lead vocalist is Mark Lowry. He wrote the lyrics many years ago. He sent them to another Gospel artist named Buddy Greene to write the music. Two days later, Buddy called Mark and sang his song to him. Both amazingly talented guys. The song has been covered by many artists over the years. The most popular would probably be the Gaither Vocal Band (the quartet Mark was a part of for many years), Kenny Rogers with Wynonna Judd, and my personal favorite, Pentatonix.

@@daveburnsmusic - I was blessed to work at a ministry/ radio network for 15 years and met both men on numerous occasions. Buddy Greene has to be the most humble and kindest man. What always floored me with Mark is I first met him as the "Christian Comedian", then he comes out with THIS! I never drew the line between him and the gathers for the longest time... duhhhh....

How on earth can you hold a note that long? Breathtaking performance from everyone involved
Go get one of those Arizona Tea cans, or something of the same size. Put one end against the wall, and lean against the other end with your diaphragm and your forehead against the wall. Now, push yourself away from the wall just by breathing. That's called a diaphragm pushup. Do about twenty of those a day, and you will be surprised how much breath control you get when it comes to holding notes.
I knew Mark Lowry was hilarious, and I knew he sang with the Gaither Band, and I knew that he wrote "Mary Did You Know" but I had no idea he has such an amazing voice! What a Godly man, and what a perfect song for the celebration and reminder of the birth of The King! Happy Birthday, Jesus and thank You, God, for Your perfect gift!

Voctave's singing is so balance and precise that they sing as one . Hard to tell who is singing what part. Totally beautiful and awesome. Along with Mark's beautiful singing and song.

I have never, in my lifetime heard more beautiful music. I play their music over and over and over again. The crystal clear sound from every single member. I just cannot say enough about them. I was an Opera Singer for many years, and have sung with the best. Yet nothing even comes close to Voctave. You have made me enjoy music again.
