@The Covenant They weren't defenseless, they just misunderstood humanity's intentions. Ancient humans were panicking and running from the Flood, scorching every world who had even a singular person infected. They encroached into Forerunner space and began burning infected worlds. The Forerunners, of course, perceived it as a threat. It's weird to me, because you think with that level of tech, the 2 civilizations could have at least a modicum of communication between each other and the ancient humans could've warned the Forerunners about what they were doing.
At 8:26 it's the Shrine of the Arbiters!!!! There's so many people that are like Arbiters to be like one of them but happy to be a sangheili at least, to just you know go prier to their knowledgement to what they know and don't know about sangheili if you peeps get what I mean. :)
