The wacky CGI is what helped Spy Kids be so memorable
That and the side characters like Doctor Romero, Machete, the Dinkster etc. In the reboot, it looks like there's none of that. It's just a mix of the 4 movies, not really creative or fun 😐

The CGI in “Spy Kids: Armageddon” is still pretty wacky. It’s just also updated, which I actually love because that means it doesn’t have to suffer through the issues “Spy Kids 3: Game Over” suffered from, like that one scene with how the characters weren’t actually really running.

Two things.
1) the timekeeper goes unbelievably hard both backstory and design.
2) the idea of the leader of a spy agency being a goldeneye fan is amazing to me

I've never heard of the Armageddon movie for this franchise, but that plot reminded me a lot of the old Rensenware "virus" from long ago. It was a joke ransomware virus where once a machine was hit you had to beat a level in Touhou on lunatic difficulty with a score of 200 million. The funniest part is that the creator himself accidentally activated it on his own machine.....and couldn't beat it. So he had to make a neutralizing code which he later distributed out.
I remember going from Adelaide to Sydney on holiday and going to watch Spy Kids 4D with my parents and cousin. As a kid I though it was the coolest shit ever, though half of the card smelt like nothing.
right? I could only pick out like 3 smells the entire movie

To explain the TV thing... Some multiplayer games will sync up the cutscenes, which could explain why the same was playing across two screens. Also, if they have a keyboard for their living room TV, then it's because they have a PC hooked up to it as a media center or something.

Armageddon is a freaking insanely hilarious name for a spy kids movie.
Spy kids 5: in 3D, with Aroma-scope and hypnotherapy to make you feel like the characters
I didn't realise the fourth one was a reboot because the other original spy kids siblings appeared in it and their aunt is the new kids' step-mother... I forgot the baby has no actual name XD poor kid. the only thing i remember about the brother is he has hearing aids and um it's treated as a 'weapon' for some reason.
Oh so the actual reboot is a mix of every movie before....dang. It's weird that they didn't follow up on the thread of the fourth one
4th one bombed and Skydance did the 5th film, i.e. the reboot. 4th one was TWC.

These were my jam as a kid, and it's good to know i'm not alone in that regard. i went back to rewatch them when i saw they were all on netflix and i gotta say it's still the best series of drug trips they turned into kids movies I've ever seen!

You know, I can imagine at some point, that they'd probably start taking the rise out of the lack of competence in the OSS, and would probably be at least an interesting way of bringing in a more antagonistic character, either as a sort of obstacle that was trying to make changes to the OSS for the betterment of the organization, or possibly a villain that essentially exploited the incompetence to their own advantage, and basically tried to sabotage the organization from the inside, by manipulating the more compitent members, who are already frustrated by the lack of compitent members of the organization.

5:53 Spy Kids 4 was the first Spy Kids movie that I watched, and that scene actually did make sense, at least to me. Cause it alludes to there having been kid spies in the past, but not anymore. However, it never mentions that there were other movies, as the clips from the first movies that were shown on the screen could just be different missions that the Juni and Carmen did during their time as spies.

Spy Kids is part of my childhood, it may be bad but damn is it just an entertaining watch the terrible CGI is what I really like about it, I thought before that it was a stylistic choice to have weird lookin CGI. Also Shark Boy and Lava Girl is also a goddamn bad but entertaining movie.
