Also, it looks like it's not really open combat, but more like a series of Quick-Time Events (QTEs), and that's always been so boring to me. That said, I'm glad they're taking a risk and doing something different! I think it'll definitely bring in a new/different video game player (especially fans of the Robert Downey Jr. movies). Personally, I'm just glad that for those of us who prefer the casual nature of the original game, we still can enjoy this current iteration in the same casual way :)

While the game is enjoyable, as a Sherlockian fan, I'm disappointed that Frogwares got this piece of information wrong: It was confirmed in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's story "His Last Bow" that Sherlock's birth year was 1854. The story takes place in 1914 and Holmes is described as being 60 years old, hence why his birth year is 1854. Meaning, since the game is set in 1880, that means Sherlock is 26 years not 21. And at the time of his mother's death in 1869, Sherlock would have 15 years old not 10, Mycroft would have been 22 years old not 20.
Problem I had with last game was how Sherlock and some other characters were way to modern for the time game is set it. This game does much better job at this.
Sherlock Holmes and copyright is always an interesting mess. In most places it expired back in the 80'ties. But in the US 6 of the last stories are still under the Doyle estate's copyright. The lawsuits, from what I recall, are not about the stories themselves. But about character traits they claim only shop up in those 6 stories. And hence people who use those traits infringe on their copyright. Thankfully it will not be a problem for much longer. The last story will enter public domain on January 1st, 2023.

There will be different outfits: some cosmetic, some will change how people perceive you and some just look cool. For instance Pirate outfit.
