If you receive a ticket for not being certifed in Hunter Education, you have 90 days to successfully complete the course and the ticket will be dismissed.
Or you could just give them a ticket for not caring. I and many others actually went through the effort to be legal, they were lazy and didn't care and they get a free pass? Why? All you're doing is promoting them to not do the Hunters Education, because they now know they wont get a ticket.

I am new to hunting and have no one to teach me but TPWD has been so helpful and informative throughout my research
Unrestricted harvest of animals led to the demise and near extinction of many species at the turn of the century. This is a documented historical fact. This reality led to the establishment of laws regulating the harvest of game and protection of other animals. These regulations and their support by law abiding citizens has led populations to rebound, continue to be a integral part of the natural world and exist to the benefit of present and future generations.

Hunting is one of the most natural activities humans can do. And yet so much restrictions, laws and regulations.
Lot if it is safety and conservation. Poaching is bad so if you do not abide by the fall you will fall into that category

Also, make sure you sign the back of your license. I've seen the game warden catch hunters on this more than once. One buddy got a fine of something like $250. Am I right, TPW?
They make hunting deer so damn hard, it's not even worth it. Bunch of darn bureaucratic crap.

You do not have to have hunter education certification to buy a hunting license in Texas. He says having no hunter education certification is the #1 ticket Game wardens write and that if one get's a ticket, one can complete the hunter education certification course within 90 days and the ticket will be dismissed.
Did he just say you don't have to take the hunters education unless you get caught and then it's a choice between a fine or taking the class within 90 days? I was under the impression you couldn't get a license without taking the class.

In other words, I don't have to worry about missing the first day of Dove season because my class is a week after that and (having gone over all the course material plus being the owner of common sense) know with 100% certainty that I'll pass the class. So even if I do get a ticked I'll be able to get it taken care of with only a little extra haste?
garfieldwithissuez you can go that route. You can also pay a small one time fee, to wave the hunter education course. This only works ONE time.

swimers100 Yes you can hunt with most any rifle in Texas but there might be a mag capacity limit.
Any center fire is good, no rimfire is permitted to hunt deer.

There are several public hunting lands in Texas where you can hunt for quail. You'll need an Annual Public Hunting Permit along with your Texas hunting license: tpwd.texas.gov/huntwild/hunt/public/annual_public_hunting/search.phtml

Thanks for checking. Landowners and their designated agents can control feral hogs causing property damage by any legal means without benefit of a hunting license. However, for those individuals that are hunting feral hogs solely for recreational purposes, a Texas hunting license is required. If in doubt, consult with your local game warden. You can find game wardens by county at tpwd.texas.gov/warden/

I cannot be FORCED or COERCED into "CONTRACT" to do ANYTHING that I have the right to do.
I have a GOD given right to take animals for food if needed. I have the RIGHT under the "Bill of rights" to "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness." Killing an animal to feed myself or my family would fall under the RIGHT to "life..." period the end!
I am 63 and have NEVER had a fishing or hunting license.
