I’ve seen a mom with her baby in her stroller and another toddler try to steal a bunch of expensive fragrances at the bouquet I used to work in. Terrible example for her kids and she was dressed nicely too. This was about 15 years ago when it happened

Be kind to your fellow man and help where you can. I’ve seen many Muslims living up to this and it pains me to see all the hate that Muslims are getting because of the fanatics of that faith that are getting all the attention in the media in the west..
As an atheist I sometime would wish that no one was religious and everyone could just live up to the mantra of “be kind to your fellow man” and “treat others as you would like to be treated yourself”

Additionally, the way they were asked those questions with the face the seller was making like he was mad that Good Samaritans were willing to help could just make them angry or at least confused. It was me putting myself in the shoes of those people acting like I do not know why they would ask such questions. 😄

This happened to me one time when I was at my lowest. I'm on SSDI, low income and had only received $22 a month for food stamps. I was in line at a grocery store and there were so many people behind me in line. The balance was $6 and change over of what I had left on the card, I didn't even have .25 cents on me. I told the cashier to take off a couple of items, I was soooo embarrassed because then he shouted out to his supervisor for everyone to hear that she needed to do an override because I didn't have enough money. Then the lady behind me said " don't worry honey I got it" at that moment I felt I was going to cry, honestly. She really restored my faith in humanity. I always had given to people in need in the past and never expected that one day I would need help. I was earning good money before I became disabled, started working at the age of 14 and never in my wildest dreams did I ever think this would happen to me. Point being, if you see someone that really needs help please help them and don't hesitate. You never know what someone else is going through. Whoever is reading this comment just know Jesus loves you so much! and may he bless each and every one of you. ❤️
I've done that before, but not because I was hoping for some divine blessing. I've done it to be a decent human being. I had to laugh once because my son was asked in a job interview to tell them something kind he had done. He told them a story about something I had done that I barely remembered, and he actually got hired...lol. It's not hard to be a decent person. It's something I have tried to pass on to all of my children. I've told them their entire lives that at the end, if you can honestly say you were a decent person and you never set out to intentionally hurt anyone, you lived a good life. I really hope things have turned around for you now. Things are hard, and we need to look after each other, especially these days. 🙂😊

I receive $1, 444 a month which really is none of your business but since you left that insensitive comment I will explain to you my situation. I pay $1,200 a month for a one-bedroom apartment the cheapest one I can find at the moment since rent is so high which I'm sure you know already. I am not in a housing program and have been waiting for nearly close to 5 years to get in one. I also have to pay for my car insurance, my phone, gas, food, Medicare part B and the list goes on and on. I don't even know if I'm going to be able to eat from one day to the next, so don't tell me that I should learn how to budget. Unbelievable!

So heartwarming. There are angels among us. Those who spoke up are so brave and kind and wonderful.
I once worked at Chuck E. Cheese and we have a salad bar people have to pay for. One busy day this pregnant woman comes up to me and asks if I’m the manager. I said no and told her I can call a manager if she wants. She stops me and says no and tells me that she is really hungry. She told me she just got kicked out of a store because she tried to steal a prepackaged sandwich, which I believe is like $7. And she begged me to give her a salad plate to get some salad and she will be out of the restaurant. Honestly I felt sorry for her and seeing her be honest with me made me want to help. She did look very hungry and I could tell by the way she dressed that she was in a tough situation in her life. I gave her the plate and she was almost in tears. She soon got her salad and left. I still think about her to this day😢

Yes. The one thing that made this not a great setup was the scenario. They’re in a coffee shop, not a grocery store AND it was made out to be they knowingly went in with no money for a few of the instances. No declined cards. It makes it more of a grey area, especially when there are so many scammers out in the world.
I thought that made it unrealistic too. Starving, yet opting for gourmet coffee and artisanal sandwich while dressed in a sun dress with salon fresh hair was weird.

When I went to Domino’s, I came there fully and willingly to spend my money.I recently had an issue with scanning my credit card at Domino’s Pizza to order food in the transaction kept canceling, and somebody in the kitchen was nice enough to pay for the food for me! Sometimes I think kind people are everywhere
I mean I somewhat feel bad for the cashiers and other store staff who are likely not making much money themselves and are put between a rock and a hard place when people in need come inside to ask for help. They have to balance staying within the confines of their job responsibilities and still maintain their humanity.

It was an experiment, nobody with no money would go and ask for food for free because , well , it's embarrassing. You both failed. The experiment was to see if people would pay 12 dollars and some change for someone in need. And you guys don't pass the test.

Not smart to go somewhere expensive to eat when you have no money, they chose the embarrassing part.
Way more willing to pay for groceries than for bagels and coffee (as in this scenario)
Not morally OK to ask someone to steal for you (cashier giving away food that doesn't belong to them).
Not morally OK to use pregnancy as guilt trip for theft.
Maybe they didn't pass, neither did you IMO.
