    I looked through all the information that the store provided on my new GDS and the information on the Bosch display was in a word "lacking". This video answered all my question and I even found out I have a "walk mode" absolutely never mentioned in the Tern manual.

    I have the Tern HSD P9 Performance. The bike shop is located in the San Francisco Hills and the shop only carries the Performance model with 500 Wh motor. This bike handles the hills well and I have not used the Sport or Turbo mode on hills. We rode 20 miles for 3 days with hills and I used less than 1 bar on the trip. 99% of the time on this trip, I rode in Eco. This was my first trip.

    Thank you- I was having trouble figuring out the walk mode! I have the Action Line Plus. I like the quiet operation, the ability to backpedal, and the sophisticated torque sensing. I want a subtle "wind at my back" feeling, and don't like motors that make themselves known by surging forward, or continuing to propel the bike for a second or more after I let up on the pedals.

    What, such an excellent video and noone answered the question?
    I've got the Bosch Performance Speed (gen. 2) and what I like most about it is that it's assisting up to 45 km/h from factory and it does it fairly well. It really made a difference for my 40 miles/day commute, I would not have taking on the task of commuting with a 25 km/h ebike (guess thats even lower than what you call "class 1" in the US).

      Tom - the Bosch Purion is an ebike controller and it runs off the ebike battery. It does have a battery but that is only in emergency if you leave it sitting without a charged main e-bike battery for a long time.

    Fab videos! Had my new e-bike a week. I noticed that the est distance remaining has changed, on full battery, from the first time I rode the bike. I guess the Purion is "clever" and makes the estimate based on my usage. I have also noticed that if I don't use the assist, the est remaining distance goes up. Is this the bike being clever, again, and showing me that it's always thinking?

    Thank You Arrly! I love your teaching technique. I just bought a 2020 Cannondale Tesoro E bike. Still getting used to it. When I bought the bike I didn't have a rack so they had to take off the front wheel to fit into my car. Ever since I put it back on it makes a rubbing sound. The tire is stable but something is rubbing. The metal fender has been ruled out but no one can seem to help me. Any ideas?

    • @BikeShopGirl
      @BikeShopGirl  Před 4 lety

      My guess is the brakes are rubbing. Make sure the wheel is in straight, best way to do this is when the bike is standing on two wheels and straight up/down. Then open the quick release and make sure it is straight in. If it is and you still get that noise the brakes may be out of alignment OR the brake lever got squeezed when the wheel was out and now the pads need pushed back in.
