Thanks! I’m really glad you enjoyed it. It was a lot of fun taking it from the 14’s to the 12’s. They sure are tough cars. We are going to try to get it in the 11’s on the stock engine. I’m not sure if that’s possible though.
Congrats Steve! Kudos to Joe for letting you run, awesome to see his 4 eye coupe too. Swamp Thing is doing super well, really good MPH!! AWESOME video buddy!!
Definitely great day the weather was perfect, the track was amazing, I had almost zero wheelspin (just bit of shuddering from rears when the nitrous hit in 1rst). Glad you hit your goal before the season was done, I'm looking forward to next season. Hopefully I can get out more then twice next season, and hopefully you can get out for more action next season as well. Goodluck in 2024.
It sure was an awesome day! Your car was rollin. 10’s next year. I’m looking forward to hanging out with everyone at the track again in 2024. Thanks Phil.
Congrats on the 12s! I’m currently aiming for 12s in my 98 Mustang GT with the NPI heads. I’ve made numerous 1/8 mile runs with a best of 8.39. I hope to hit the 1/4 soon. I’ve done long tube headers and a tubular k member so I’m pretty sure I can hit my goal now.
Congrats on the 12 !! The footage from Sparta brought back many great memories of us racing there....we only lived 30 mins away before we moved to Manitoba for family reasons. Great running car for beind essentially stock...i cringe when i read people on the Face pages say that a stock 5.0 was a high 14 second car 😬 And i see you're getting "creative" with those weight loss mods, very good ! 😂
Hi Dan! Sparta is a great track. I hope they will let ole Swamp race there again. Do you have a track close by now? I’m having fun with the old car. Thank you Dan!
@AlteredStangs I'm glad they let you race...I once almost failed tech at Toronto Motorsports Park due to my 83 gt looking ratty and the serpentine belt slightly rubbing a pulley the wrong way 😒 I do have a track here, it's north of Winnipeg and about 2 hrs away from my house...I have yet to make it there since 2019, life just gets too busy I guess. These old cars are alot of fun ! I hope you get more track time with swamp thing and are able to blow some barnacles off the old girl ! Congrats again on reaching your goal 👍
@@danfriesen4417 I hear you about life getting in the way. I never made time to go racing for many years. I’m thankful for the track days I have had this year. Covid also made a lot of things difficult. Swamp Thing will be back badder than ever next year. I have big dreams. Thanks Dan I appreciate you!
@AlteredStangs I'm always grateful for any seat time or track time I get, no matter how little it is. Can't wait to see the progression with swamp thing next year 👍 Love what you're doing with it and just having fun with it, which is what it's all about !

Awesome Steve. Looks like you had a great day. We had great weather for it and had a good time Saturday also.
Yes it was the most fun I’ve had in a while. Next time I hope to get up when you guys are there.
Thanks Doug.
Really enjoyed this vid. Great to see you break into the 12s, especially with a neglected ol' 5.0. Go Mustang!

Joe DaSilva, Bob Cosby, Evan Smith, Tony Defeo, Ed Hohenberg, and many more come to mind after seeing this vid. "12 Second stocker"
Great memories and great magazines. This is possibly why I am having more fun racing this car.

You are so right. But I’m kinda diggin the GT look. It is the only GT I’ve had in years.

11 second burnouts
Working on it. The slicks are roughly 17 years old. Figured I better heat em up and wear em out.
