I just got this on the Summer Sales.
And it's freaking awesome.
100% recommended.
Nobody who puts in the time to "git gud" dislikes this game. The community for it is awesome and it's basically perfect for what it is. But... it IS extremely hard and never gets any easier: you have to get better. So there are some baddies who will never like it.
I've been playing hardly an hour and a half, and never got beyond the third stage of the first level, always got rekt by a Red Dragon or something like that, but I'm clearly getting better at it, and that's the thing that makes me keep playing.
It's like Rogue Legacy, you could level up a shit ton and get a lot of upgrades, but if you are not good enough, you are not beating it.
It is a lot like Rogue Legacy, in that both games are very much based on your skill and *adaptability* much more than the luck they give you. On average people take 10-12 hours to even get to Zone 4, which is leagues harder than anything before it and ends with special boss fights that could take you MUCH longer to clear... and that's only the beginning.
I'm on Zone 3 already and damn it's getting chaotic down there. 2 was pretty easy, I was down with it in 20 minutes or so.

If you have not tried this game and you have played ANY rythem game in your past ( ddr, rockband, guitar hero, etc.) , then you NEED TO TRY THIS GAME.
The replay value is incredibly high and there are so many different kick ass songs in this game.

Corbin Latham basically, you load your music in whatever stage you want, and itll automatically detect the rhythm. obviously its more entertaining with actualy rhytmic tracks like electro/synthwave music like carpenter brut or perturbator for exemple

I came after Zelda too...(that's what she said...) and it looks interesting with that 80's vibe, but what's a rhythm game?
Think of this game as Dance Dance Revolution set as a dungeoncrawler. The gist is that the Necrodancer takes Cadence's heart after she falls into the crypt and she is forced to move/attack/use items to the beat of the music for each level. Starting characters are forgiving when you miss beats; more advanced characters will take damage or instantly die if you mess up.

I got love and hate feeling about this game.
Love cause I'm a big fan of rhythm and quite about dungeon crawlers, and for a creative point and gameplay wise this game is a gem...
Hate because this is !?%$ing hard as hell and ultra punitive...
I hope I'll managed to finish the story mode before the release just to threw to newcomers "ok did it, demand a little bit of practice but nothing special!"

yeah, but for rogue-like/lite, there's few adjectives you can employ, sir:
-demanding
-dammmmmmm hard
-and of course "hard as hell"
For instance, "One way heroic" or "Tower of guns" are demanding
"Binding of Isaac" is dammmmmm hard...
but CotND is literally "hard ad hell": you got to analyse quick, figure out the enemy pattern and stay in rhythm at the same time.
Passing zone 4 with solo Cadence was just the most tensed thing I've experienced for a lonnnnng time(I regret nothing though, this game is great!^^)
John Beaver Seriously, though. The sense of accomplishment is amazing. I'm trying to beat the true final boss with Aria now and good god, it is hard. I never thought I'd be able to make it this far... but here I am, and the boss is still wrecking me.
Lord Sauron Good, well I hope you will :)(beating the truth final boss) Personally I'm not sure I gonna have the patience to do so(cause missing the beat sometimes is part of my strategy and its a bad one when playing Aria lol) but I agree, the sense of accomplishment is amazing. I come back regulally this is part of my "have 30 minutes free time" game list.
Great game overall, and fun to paly with dance pad too.

Well, it should. Especially considering it is ALSO the track for the penultimate level of the game (aside from Aria), so the game should go out with a bang! And damn if it hasn't!

Everyone has their own opinions on the bosses, but one thing is for certain: Death Metal is a nightmare especially for Coda users.

Deaf players wouldn't actually have a problem with this. The game does a very good job of conveying the beat visually as well as audibly.
Blind players... They wouldn't have trouble with this any more than any other video game. In fact, the fact that their inputs are locked to a beat may actually be beneficial, as it gives them time to process whatever method they use to turn the visuals into audio.
What are you talking about? it's not hard for deaf people, they have eyes! the music is not the morst important fot this game, it's cool feature and that's all
As for blind people, like light blindess, wouldn't play this game because you need to know where are the enemies. Most videogames are not blind friendly at all
The dislikes are disabled, I think that deafening banshee disabled them.
