- Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a public meeting today in Chikkaballapur, Karnataka. Speaking to a vibrant crowd, he highlighted the achievements of the NDA government and sought support for Dr. K. Sudhakar from Chikkaballapur and Mallesh Babu Muniswamy from the Kolar constituency. Addressing the enthusiastic gathering, PM Modi said, "The enthusiasm of the nation has been uplifted by the voting in the first phase, and I can see this enthusiasm here as well. In the first phase, the voting has been in favor of the NDA, in favor of a developed India."

In my village, many who support BJP didn't go to vote, but all those who support Congress went to cast their vote. The turnout at public meetings is not getting reflected in recent voting percentages. When there is NOTA option too on ballot then voting should be MANDATORY for citizens and abstaining from voting should attract same provisions as abstaining from election duty. Perhaps we need a new law to this effect in 3rd term to make voting near 100%.
