  • How to change the oil on a 2013 - 2018 and 2019 - current ZX6R Ninja 636. It is also pretty similar on most sport bikes and motorcycles in general. Hopefully this helps you out, feel free to drop a comment if you have any questions! I'd be glad to help.

    Bruh. You are a life saver. I’ve watched videos of other bikes getting an oil change. But there’s nothing like somebody doing the work on the same bike you have.

    17mm for the drain plug, and an m12 washer.

    Recently bought myself a 2015 636 and was doing my first oil change today. The oil filter is in kind of an inconvenient spot, had to run down to advance auto for an oil filter socket. Your video was very helpful, big thanks dude🤙

      You’re welcome! I’m glad I was able to help! The K&N Filters used to be not great but they re-designed them a while ago and they’re pretty good!
      You might hear people talking bad about them, and that’s why.
      They come with a nut attached to the end of the filter to make it easier to remove.

      @@TheBlackopsbeast360 I didnt hear anything about K&N Filter issues but def good to know its been resolved. Ive always trusted K&N products with my cars so i decided to get the oil filter for the bike, good thing too cuz they got that super handy 17mm tip for easy removal and i had no idea haha, got lucky. Gonna check the air filter next, should be bit more fun😅

      Yes, the new ones are good! But for the filter, I’d recommend either Sprint or BMC for the filter

    Quick question... how often do you recommend changing the oil on this bike?

    • @TheBlackopsbeast360
      @TheBlackopsbeast360  Před 3 lety +3

      I personally do it every 3k miles, but you really should do it at least every 5k. Do you have one?

    Quick question bro, I did the oil change but I noticed I put the valvoline 10w40 atv/utv not motorcycle. It wasn't until I needed to go buy an extra quart that I noticed I bought the valvoline 10w40 motorcycle and the other 3 quarts were atv/utv. Will it damage my zx6r?

    • @TheBlackopsbeast360
      @TheBlackopsbeast360  Před 3 lety +1

      No, you’ll be good. In truth, the atv/utv vs motorcycle oil is the same formula from most companies. They package it differently to be able to track sales, and see what their customers are using it for!
      No harm done.

      Ideally you should, It helps form a seal. I have forgotten and it was ok.

      To be honest, I'm not sure... I know the one on Partzilla works, and I usually got them at the dealer

  • @pummyy
    @pummyy Před rokem +2

    Thanks for that. Just and advice, to spray a de-greaser on to a funnel and then pour engine oil is no good for the oil. And don't forget the air filter.

    • @TheBlackopsbeast360
      @TheBlackopsbeast360  Před rokem

      Carb cleaner isn't a degreaser in the same sense that dawn or purple power are, its a quick evaporating formula that doesn't leave a residue behind!
