Even though Dimash performed this song in the studio, it was live-streamed at the 20th Tokyo Jazz Festival on November 28, 2021. The song "Ikanaide" (Please, don't go) was composed in 1989 by Japanese singer-songwriter Koji Tamaki, with lyrics written by Goro Matsui. It tells the true story of Yoshiko Yamaguchi, who was born in China in 1920 to Japanese parents and became a celebrated singer and actress under the Chinese name Li Xianglan. When after WWII her Japanese origin became known, she was accused of espionage and was deported to Japan, never to return to China again. The song speaks of the anguish, heartbreak, and final acceptance of this parting.
Dimash performed one of the Chinese interpretations of this song for the first time during 'The Singer' competition in 2017, using the Taiwanese version by Terry Lin called "Autumn Strong" with Mandarin lyrics which are different from the Japanese original.
One of my fav Dimash songs (pronounced E-ka-na-E-day). Just flawless vocals and technique. Dimash poured his heart and soul into this one.

This was another very enjoyable reaction. This is quickly becoming one if not the favorite Dimash performance for me and it invokes a very visceral response in me, just as "Ave Maria" did. I believe this actually was a live performance in that Dimash sang "Ikanaide" live for the Tokyo Jazz Festival Live stream in January of 2021 as it was being recorded. According to several native Japanese speakers, Dimash's pronunciation of the lyrics is nearly flawless. One native speaker, who gave a detailed analysis, stated that he is "expressing Japanese more (better) than Japanese" and that he does not only perfectly pronounce Japanese but "expresses Japanese…with Japanese emotion.". Goro Matsui, who wrote the lyrics to "Ikanaide," posted on his Twitter account that he has never heard a foreigner sing in Japanese in such a beautiful way.
Tamaki Kōji composed the music and performed the song in 1989. "Ikanaide" became the title song for the Chinese-Japanese TV series "Farewell, Li Xianglan," filmed that year. It is the story of Yoshiko Yamaguchi, a beloved Chinese-born Japanese actress and singer during World War II who hid her Japanese heritage under the name Li XIanglan. Following the war, when the Chinese became aware of her Japanese heritage, she was accused of being a spy and sentenced to death by firing squad for treason and collaboration with the Japanese; she had been involved in the production of Japanese propaganda films. Thanks to the intervention of influential friends, she was cleared of all charges but urged to leave China or risk being lynched.
She resettled in Japan, where she would continue to enjoy a successful acting career. In the 1950s, she moved her acting career to Hollywood and Broadway under the name Shirley Yamaguchi but returned to Japan in 1959, retiring from acting. She would go on to become a TV presenter and eventually a politician. She did not return to China for nearly 20 years.
In 1990, "Ikanaide" was translated into Cantonese and sung by Jacky Cheung using the same melody. Later, the song was rewritten and translated for Jacky Cheung to Mandarin under the title "Late Autumn." In 2004 the Taiwanese singer Terry Lin adapted the song into a new version titled "In Deep Autumn," with lyrics written by Daryl Yao.
Dimash chose the 2004 Taiwanese version arranged by Terry Lin with Mandarin lyrics for his performance at the 2017 "I Am A Singer" competition but gave it his own interpretation and titled it "Autumn Strong." This song went on to earn Dimash the "Best Foreign Singer" award during the Golden Melody Award in Hong Kong.

This is a performance he did for the Tokyo Jazz Festival in 2021. That year the festival was celebrating Koji Tamaki, the composer of this song and many others. Dimash usually sings this in Chinese but he’s singing it in Japanese for Tamaki. Tamaki really appreciated it because even though other people have sung this song for him, no one ever sang it in Japanese. He thought that Dimash’s version was special! 😊

Его нынешний тур STRANGER, который Димаш открыл выступлением в родном Казахстане, Алматы 23/09/2022 ( есть на канале Димаша и состоит из трёх частей), продолжился сольными концертами в Армении, Ереван 29/04/2023 и в Турции, Анталия 06/05/2023. И как рассказывал сам Димаш в интервью, его тур запланирован состояться в 20 странах. Так что может и США есть в этом списке, раз он уже столько времени живёт в Лос- Анжелесе, занимаясь творческой деятельностью.

When Dimash is singing a duo with some one else, he have to hold back the strength in his voice to not over run them. I've seen it a lot of times on his concerts. You was asking if Dimash is going to have a concert in the US. I read somewhere that if he's having a concert it will be in the Barkley Center, New York City. In concerts you experience Dimash from a completely different side.
There is such a magic between him and us Dears...those who have been so fortunate to be able to attend his concerts are downright inspired and rave about it over and over again.
Many reacter also react to his concerts and divide them into several sections depending on how much time they want to invest (e.g. 1-4 songs per reaction. ) All the concerts published on Dimash's youtube channel are great... mostly with English subtitles...at the concert in NY, called ARNAU Envoy, he mostly spoke in English, therefore without subtitles.
Dimash is currently having his concert tour "Stranger" (he already performed in Almaty in September 2022, the biggest city in Kazakhstan... then recently in Yerevan Armenia... you already reacted to the Armenian folk song there... and most recently he was in Antalya, Turkey. Next concert is planned for May 24th: in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia ...more concerts are not known yet, but more will follow …. We are already waiting for an announcement).

Ikanaide in Japanese is the same song as the Autumn strong song he sang in Chinese in 2017 I'm a singer contest. I love this version more. I can even hear a whistle sound when he's breeds. I don't know if you know that Dimash is very religious in Islam and if I am not wrong he likely is pure in the way of sex, if I understand correctly, sex before marriage isn't allowed, while millions of women adore him, he very likely hasn't done that and you can see it in how shy he is with touching a lady intimately.
