- Welcome, Happy Morning !
This is a powerful Hymn to be played with Animation... In the 1940 Episcopal Hymnal, there are 6 verses, some have only 5.
Thank you for visiting my Channel for Hymn Lovers like YOU ♥
Happy Easter †
Lance - Hudba
Growing up in the Episcopal Church , this was one of my favorite hymns!
Jesus is Alive ! Death is conquered once for all ! Hallelujah!
I remember you playing this fine old Hymn in your old Channel, Lance. Sadly, we don't hear it nearly so much any more but I mind on singing it in the Church at home when I was in my early teens. Many thanks, Lance. God bless. Charlie, Aberdeen, Scotland.
You're welcome - I remember when I was 13 and just before becoming our Church Organist at the age of 13 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, I was the Crucifer and loved walking down the aisle with the Cross holding it up high and in my mind thinking " What a beautiful morning it is, it's Easter and such a Happy Morning ".
I may be Lutheran, but this has me imaging how the Episcopal friends I've had along the way have had this hymn in their Easter worship service
Played beautifully!"
Thank you - Lance †♫♪♫
My mother's favorite Easter hymn, it was played as the recessional at her memorial service.
Thank you for sharing that detail. Likewise, I selected it as the recessional hymn at my father's memorial, 20 years ago. A fitting conclusion to a sad gathering.
Wonderful memory, Lance. And there's an equally wonderful atmosphere in the Kirk on Easter Morning too. Hope your toe is less painful now.
If you didn't know it was Sullivan, you could tell. It sounds like a chorus from "Pinnafore".
The text is a different translation of the Latin poem on which "Hail Thee, Festival Day".
Now, if you only had a REAL organ instead of a beep-box.
For me, this is one of Arthur Sullivan's most unsuccessful tunes. I cannot get on top of the rhythm, which I find to be extremely awkward and contrived. Absolutely no offence intended to either the excellent organist, or those of you who love this tune; it's only my personal opinion. Best wishes to you all. Peter A
