Changing user account name doesnt change the user account folder name and even you dont get any rename options.
Check this step by step method to change windows 11 user folder name.

@@zohadaditto1307I had same issue. I went back logged in as the new created admin -> registery editor and typed back the previous user name then saved and logged back using my user.
Kinda just change the username back to how it was fixed it.
@@zohadaditto1307It's still there bro. Windows just has no idea which "User" folder to use in C:/.
You can find your old files in C:/Users/(yourOldUsername)
In fact you can go back by reversing what you did on regedit. Just go back to the steps and put back your old username.

how do I add custom details to a folder??, while what is available is that we cannot add details according to the name we want. For example, in a folder there are files, next to the name there are things like the date it was changed, the size and type of the file itself. but how can we add things like that according to what we want by adding a tick to the details section that we created?? please help I really need this kind of thing. For everyone that failed to do this, I came back to the account I'm using to change the original path name, after that I changed back the changed path name back to the previous original path name. It works for me

Is there a way to permently change the user folder name? For ex: If I had to reinstall Windows I had to go through this steps again, rather I would like to have the changed name as my default user folder name in the future installtion

So first open file explorer from the other user account and change the name of the account u want to then change it in the registry

@@urvashibhalerao5997what I did was I came back to the account we were using to rename the path name, and then change back the name we just changed into the previous one. After that I came back to my original account and everything was there
This actually worked. At first I thought I lost everything in my main account but I restarted my laptop and everything was back normal. Just follow the steps and don't make mistakes. Thanks for the help. I was thinking about formatting entire disk but this saved my time.
Didn't work, all my previous settings lost, even with the recover point, not fully recovered. Bad! I would endure the unlike names.

Great content, and thanks alot. Follow the exact steps to the end. After that restart your pc to make everything alright. Lastly, you can also get rid of the new user account especially the one in the video which is named as Admin.

It works but you've to do this.
In the video, it is shown that after completing all the steps, you should sign out from the temporary account, sign in to the old one, and rename the folder to the name that you specified in the registry path. However, it's crucial to rename the folder while logged into the temporary profile.
If you don't do this then you won't be logged in to the old account or your data will be removed.
In case, you fail to rename the folder, simply revert all changes to regain access to the old profile and data.

Please do NOT do this it signs you out of your account and you have to reverse the process to log back in
For anyone that has issues and didn’t work:
I had same issue.
1- I went back logged in as the new created admin -> registery editor
2- Open the Registry Editor and navigate to the profile list. It might have “bak” suffix.
3- Locate your original profile, and change the path user name back to the original username.
4- Save changes and log back in with your original account.
Kinda just change the username back to how it was fixed it.

It works. BUT it will mess up your files. Fortunately i did not have a lot of files as it was a relatively new laptop i got from someone else. Would not recommend unless you back up your files externally.

I accessed my pc from the new user that was created then I re-watch the video and went back to the section that a backup or restore was done and restored pc from there. It went back to original

lol, why would you do this? just open file manager, goto users folder, use the search at top right and type your folder name, in the search results, right click on your home folder and RENAME, easy peasy! if using onedrive redirection, just sign out and back on to fix new path
