    I hope Vonn would find peace for himself in a follow-up in this story. Maybe the female soldier of his species would encounter him again under different circumstances, better ones. Possibly become a couple & both would foster & nurture the peace desired, not just for themselves, but all concerned.

    WOW!!!
    This story had everything, it wasn't repetitive, the growth and outcome of the protagonist was seamless.
    This one definitely not written by AI.

      I got the impression that they where treated in varied ways depending on their behaviour. An relentless enemy, if captured will need to be locked up. Some of them may have had experiences similar to the protagonist but this story isn't about them.

      During my last 2 deployments, I worked with interpreters. It's a bond formed by shared blood and suffering together. Probably something you could never imagine, understand, or comprehend. At first, you feel like you are fighting beside the enemy then that person saves your life. And you switch your thinking from concern to respect in the blink of an eye.

      @@grogvaughan5649 Right because you armed up an injured POW to fight against his own extraction team just days after treating his injury all the time. Working with an in country interpreter is not the same thing. Don't pull a fellow Vet's leg.

    • @grogvaughan5649
      @grogvaughan5649 Před 4 měsíci +1

      @DeathclawJedi the command already knew he couldn't go back because he was captured. From the sounds of it he would have been interrogated and executed by his people. How many enemy combatants did you even talk to??? I'd say about 50 for me. There's a huge difference between pulling a fellow vets leg and explaining facts to a brother who isn't "read In" on the operation.

    • @Serahpin
      @Serahpin Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@grogvaughan5649 We're not talking about an onside interpreter, but a captured hardened enemy combatant. It is the duty of every POW to escape. Unless military ideology has done a complete 180 from the last hundred years of warfare, that should still be the case.

  • @DeathclawJedi
    @DeathclawJedi Před 4 měsíci +6

    This was a far far to idealistic and unrealistic story with no real conclusion just a to be continued premise that will probably never be continued.
    From a tactical standpoint arming an injured and recovering POW is insane. Base commander is pulling medical duty on POW's that came to extract the original POW they just armed to fight against his own extraction team why? You don't put your CO in charge of dressing wounds of a potentially Hostile patent.
    If this Human kindness is so powerful why is Xal the only defector? Surely they've saved Many other enemy combatants. In a war where humanity is on the ropes fighting just to stay alive why are they not getting more defectors with their acts of kindness? Apparently Xal is the ONLY Good Alien in the UNIVERSE....😑 I find this dubious at best and ludicrous at worst.

      …… avid watcher of sci-fi and these kind of videos here, and the other kinds, and I have even left a critique or two on this channel (constructive criticism from a subscriber, which different from a ranting list of vague complaints), and I honestly don’t see almost any of the points you made here. In war, treating your enemy pows with with hospitality can be an invaluable tactic if you wish to gain their insight and know you won’t though brute force. Not to mention, these kind of things like in the ending, these mental battles within soldiers, I don’t expect you to understand as someone who clesrly has not seen war. But veterans do. Want me to go on? A video that humans aren’t destructive killers and destroyers of worlds may, may plant the seed that we can be good, ocassionaly, in peoples minds, as fiction often inspires the next generation of fiction that inspires the next generation of reality. All I’m saying is, if you’re going to make a critique atleast don’t make it a rant of useless philosophy arguments. Make it an observation of a point you feel can be improved, and what you suggest to improve it, respectfully, and give supporting reasons, like this. 😊

    • @DeathclawJedi
      @DeathclawJedi Před 4 měsíci

      @@kentroglobalinvestmentllc8921 You want reasons and points? Fair enough.
      1. If the story was Xal was the VERY FIRST POW the Humans EVER captured and treated for wounds it would have made the story somewhat more plausible. 2. The wounded POW from the extraction team to get Xal out of human capture that the base CO was treating. If Xal had some interaction with a fellow injured POW and ether brought them around to the human side or formed a conflict with him based on beliefs would have improved the story. After all the Extraction team POW was NOW in the same Boat Xal was. Life with humans or interrogation and imprisonment with possible death should he be rescued.
      3. The fact the CO of the base was doing self aid buddy care and or first aid on a hostile POW? This was a plot device that should have been discarded and or reworked. Think of it like this Captain Janeway from Voyager doing after battle care of Seska while Chakotay, Kim or Paris or was bleeding out. You really think the base commander is doing first aid on an enemy rather than looking over her own troops welfare? To Quote Many a Vulcan... "Highly illogical." Had the CO been treating Michaels it would have been a more potent revelation when Xal decided to side with the humans. I can go on if you wish but I hope that suffices. if not let me know. And as for your "Avid watcher of Sci-Fi" Well I am too bud. My first introduction to major Sci-Fi was as a kid watching Star Wars in theater Before it got the "Episode IV A New Hope" re-title. So Live long may the force be with you as you starburst the hell out of my sector you quatloo hording cylon.😜 Beedee Beedee Beedee!😁
