Yes. That is the core joke of the Jermaverse. I love being an occasional VODder because watching a clip from a stream is like walking into a room full of Satanic cultists who are telling me they're going to resurrect Lovecraft and turn him into Ennard Afton. I'm 83% sure they're pulling my leg, but they might not be because they did put a LOT of work into this and they've got an upsetting glint in their eye.

so, in other word, many (yes, i mean that literally, they are an amalgamated being) of the funny guys in the fnaf franchise.
There is something of a curve to understanding Jerma.
When you first hear about him it's like "This guy must be CRAZY," but watching a little bit of his streams it's like "Hm, no, he seems pretty normal."
But then, I feel the more you watch of him, the more you understand that he's a pretty eccentric guy. He's got a specific persona he puts on for his streams, where he's egotistical and short-tempered but doesn't want you to that find out because he's obsessed with looking good (The recent Christmas stream is an example of this). And he'll occasionally just snap and do something genuinely unhinged when you least expect it, like the whole alien rant. There is nothing normal about the alien rant.
This might be the best character study of Jerma that I've ever seen. You nailed his persona vs. "reasonable guy" so well in just a few sentences

I'll watch occasional clips of Jerma, but he can be silly at worst. Like when ChatGPT used an easy Google search to tell him about Binding of Isaac descriptions, he then stated a serious fear of AI.

You can enjoy the joke on two levels when you first, take it as a joke, then second and alternatively, take it as the person being serious.
I feel like Jerma humor works so well because it's so...cartoony? Like if Jerma is transported into a cartoon dimension he would be just an average guy in comparison but because we're viewing him in this reality all the little things he did just become kinda insane. He's also not being in "cartoon mode" constantly too, the friction between being just a normal guy to suddenly being a wacky creature creates this sort of "unhingedness" that is unpredictable and a bit "uncomfortable" to the regular viewer. But he's not unpredictable either, watch him long enough and you see the pattern to the humor, to this "unhingedness". When you start noticing it suddenly the wacky stuff that happened clicks in your head and sorta "make sense". It's like Jerma created a pocket universe where all that wacky stuff is the norm and he's transporting you to that reality through his stream. Am i making sense here? Or is watching to much Jerma have broken my mind? Maybe the answer is much simpler and he's just a funni guy, but i doubt it...HE'S INSANE!
It also makes a lot of sense when you find out he has ADHD

Nobody said jerma was crazy for the wall dong but it's a running joke just based on jerma being a weird and funny dude. Jerma feeds into it with his personality like pretending to eat a bird out of a birdhouse or replying to a comment that didn't exist and talking to himself for a joke. Jerma regularly is just a funny normal dude but when he gets worked up and excited u can really see the dude loves being a weirdo and talking about sticking people in meat grinders

The man was yelling at his wall and like clawing at his window to figure out why the sun was making a dick on his wall.

it's a mix he is well adjusted, seems quite nice and genuine, so yea it's like a contrast thing. but also something you pick up as you watch him more and more is that he is genuinely quite a bit weird, not in like an explosive way but just harmlessly unusual, which since he's a pleasant dude stands out more than if someone who is constantly insane or over the top would do those things. he also leans into it, he definitely has some insane moments, meatgrinder, being strangled pov, eating a bird, shaving cream incident where he is implying he is a cannibal, growling at the viewers etc etc. but if you think about it with how much footage there is of him online he has a really clean history, especially in the streaming space
i think if he didn't seem like a solid down to earth dude that his humour wouldn't be as effective

I actually really get what he's saying here. The psycho jokes can be really funny, but the constant presence of the joke has always just kinda bummed me out. Especially as an autistic person where everyday is a fight to convince the people around me "No, I'm not actually an insane person who's gonna attack you. I'm just weird," the fact the joke is so ingrained into the community at this point genuinely worries me.
The thing about Jerma is he is just a bit of a weird guy but really genuine. However, goofy things happen to/around him in a vacuum of rediculousness. His humor and such come through in his zanyness that causes these strange things that happen to/around him to amplify. Dude's a comedic multiplier. It's just hard to pin down what the driving force is. Is it him? His chat? The games he plays? The world around him? The only constant is Jerma so 🤷♂️

I’d never watched a streamer before Jerma and I started watching because I found a yt compilation of him. It was called “Jerma laughing at vehicle crashes for 30 mins” something like that and the thumbnail was just a picture of him cracking up next to a flaming car. I click and was really confused that in all the clips he was laughing at video game car crashes, not real crashes involving real people. It just goes to show even a total stranger knows to be wary of this man
