You better know it! On Fried Chicken Wednesday, it is an unwritten rule to dress up. Great content. All of this is true for my HBCU (🐴💙) as well.

Hey! Did you ever figure out if you were transferring? If so how were able to transfer all your classes over and handle financial aid and housing? The only reason why I am asking is because those 2 departments are very difficult at HBCUs. I currently am a freshman at a PWI and I originally had everything set to go to HU; however, it wasn't till a couple of weeks before graduating that there was an error in my financial aid. I still have it in my heart to attend a HBCU(hopefully be able to apply to HU again) but the only thing that keeps me away and is making me scared are the possible problems I may come across in terms of financial aid and housing.

I attend a PWI now and it's been a terrible experience.
Finally, I have decided to transfer to a HBCU - when I did my tour last week it
felt like High School all over again, which is what I don't want. Overall it seemed like the guys
were more friendly than the woman there. Maybe the woman were sizing me up? But whatever,
other than that hopefully it all works out for me in Spring.

that is exactly how I feel at my HBCU now. there is a lot of judgement and not much unity at all in my opinion. I am in my spring semester and thinking about transferring to a PWI. Hopefully you are enjoying your experience but just know unpleasant HBCU experiences definitely do exist.

I got the opportunity to do an tour of the campus and loved how welcoming it felt 😭👏🏽. If you don’t mind can please inform me on the student to teacher ratio and required sat score? Thanks for the info

D'Taija Butler So glad that you enjoyed your tour! Generally classes sizes are larger (30+) freshman year and gradually get smaller as you get into your major. But it depends a lot on your major and the class. Personally the largest class I ever took had 40+ and the smallest had 4. On average, I’d say to except about 25 or less. In terms of required SAT/ACT scores aim for at least a 21 on the ACT or at 1000 on the SAT (but check the website to be sure lol). Hope that helps!!
