    Thanks Josh for this video. I am shopping around for a new bike rack that is easy for me to mount in and out my family's bikes. Nice house!

    Just bought a 1up rack. Can't wait to install it. Also....OMG, a CZcamsr who adds background music that doesn't screech, kill your ears, and you modulate it so it lowers when you're talking! I didn't think any of you existed! Thank you! Great video.

    Got my single with one add on today. Highest quality and workmanship I have seen on any product in a while. No regrets I would recommend this rack to anyone looking for a high quality rack that they will never have to replace.

    That’s the best 1up review I’ve seen, no fluff and it’s the only one I’ve seen on the new version. I can’t believe how poor the 1up website is with blurry pics and hard to compare parts.

    i have a big favor to ask. I have a cab over truck camper with a rear slide out. Could you give me a measurement from the back wall of your earthroamer to your handle bar? I'm hoping I can tilt the rack down and then operate out the 36'' deep slide out without running into my 800mm bars.

    What prevents someone from stealing that slick-looking blue pull-handle? I do understand that pin to hold it in place was chosen for quick removal to quickly mount 3-rd bike add-on. But I think making it possible to remove blue handle as simple as just pulling the pin is lame here. I would replace that with nut and bolt for more safety.

    • @NomadYogaFamily

    I love your Earth Roamer videos! Do you think the stretched LTS version would make the driving you do a lot more difficult? Would you give up less maneuverability for those extra feet?

    • @NomadYogaFamily
      @NomadYogaFamily  Před 4 lety +1

      The LTS turning radius is still stellar but every foot does count. Prior to the bike rack we had a custom box on the back it it took a lot of damage from off road cornering and scraping on rocks exiting large drops. That all said the LTS extra living space would be awesome!

    • @BHShaman
      @BHShaman Před 4 lety +2

      the quick rack does not have quick release handle. The heavy/superduty also does not come with handle. If you add the quick release handle to the original the price gap closes considerably. If you add black anodize to the original, i think prices are almost exact.
      One note. The original quick single you cant use a hitch bolt on receiver. On equip-d single it looks like you can.

      @@chon379 a hitch has a 3/8 bolt hole so you after loading your accessory onto the hitch you can secure it with a hitch bolt. cheapest are a j-bolt with hitch pin. most use a locking bolt so people can run away with your stuff.
      1ups rack did not have that hole in their hitch post. now they do. but they cant use a standard bolt due to the anti vibration feature. they include thier custom locking bolt now.

    I just emailed 1Up and asked them about the stability (or lack thereof) of the loaded bikes. My bike is the new Turbo Levo SL mountain bike with 29x2.3 tires. My bike seemed very loose and would readily move forward / rearward if I slightly tugged on the top rack. worried that the 2 bikes on my Equip-D Double would bang into each other. Eve after really cranking down hard on the folding arms that hold the top of the tires (31psi, suspension locked). So I asked 1Up, said I was worried about exactly what you said - going off road with my truck and rack + bikes. Would the bikes wobble so much they would tear each other up. They responded that the Equip-D rack is "not rated" for off road hauling. That probably would include RV use as well. I am packing my up for return and refund.

    • @yogapreneurcollective
      @yogapreneurcollective Před 3 lety

      Hey David, you're right that there is lots of play forward and rear in the rack. In our experience there is no rack that completely eliminates movement and actually after driving with the rack for over a year now and adding a fourth bike we can def say that we've had the least amount of shuttle damage with the 1-up rack. This depends largely on the effort while loading the bikes making sure that when they move they do not / cannot touch each other. VS the northshore rack for example where all bikes are in perfect line and the position is fixed it's almost impossible to not have the bikes touch. With the one up you can adjust the exact placement of the bikes, prioritize the order of the bikes optimally, and the raising angle of the bike platforms is incredibly helpful.
      As for 1 up saying it isn't for off road, I'm sure every company would say this probably to avoid complaints / legal.
      Let us know which rack you decide to go with - it would be cool to see if you encounter something even better!

    • @DcCock

      I'm not a 1Up employee but their 2" Super Duty is rated for that type of driving. I was about to pull the trigger on it but ended up getting the Equip-D because it comes in 1 1/4" and Polestar advises against using hitch extenders and adapters so no 2" for me

    If that is your house, you have money to BURN.... I don't care how good any rack is. I WILL NEVER PAY $1100 FOR A RACK> Only if you haul bikes all day, every day is this type of rack practical... My $250 THULE rack will hold 4 bikes and not look like you are carrying a trailer behind you.

    • @teonaka632
      @teonaka632 Před 2 lety

      If one is spending thousands (or tens of thousands) of dollars on bikes, $1100 for this particular 3 bike rack set up is a fraction of that and isn’t excessive, it’s added insurance for an expensive hobby. So it’s not about the cost of his house (in my opinion), it’s about the cost of his bikes.
