this video is a perfect example of why Beirut is such a fucking fantastic band filled with magical musicians. Even if you don't enjoy this kind of music, respect should be had for their flawless random live performances; with that many musicians they play so seamlessly together it is absolutely fantastic.. they kill it every fucking time.
It's been 14 years and I keep watching this every once in a while and this was actually the first song that I learned how to play on the ukulele. My birthday is Sep.9, so when this was uploaded, I had just turned 14. I'm 28 now and I still listen to Beirut on a daily basis. Their music is really a part of my life to this point. Much love from Brazil

i've always loved zach; he's just too adorable for words. but the fact that he can speak fluent french just makes him more adorable. it makes his whole travelling past thing real. he's so cute his little head's gonna pop off.
This is pure absolute beauty. Beirut is just… unbelievably touching. Side note: A few years ago, I wearing a band tee I had just gotten at their show and a day later, I had a party at my place..a friend came up, hugged me and then looked at my shirt and asked, “oh, Beirut…!! Have you been there ???” I said, “oh yeah, I was just there last night and it was so incredible, they had me speechless” and she just looked at me awkwardly and said nothing… I thought it was a strange encounter until it dawned on me when I sobered up that she was referring to the city 😂 I go on day trips to Beirut from the US, now n then.

Such a different age. One I wish I hadn't been forced to experience at such a young age. Yet I love my life. For without my circumstances I wouldn't have full access to Beirut and other musicians. But please tell me I am wrong, that when one watches a video like this one, you don't feel nostalgic? I could not ever see anyone not feeling a reason to live when experiencing this kind of feeling.
