  • This is a trick that professional anglers have been doing for quite a long time. Although this trick can be costly it's also very effective at hooking and landing a much larger percentage of fish! I only suggest doing this on the lure you know they are eating well or if you are involved in a tournament and need an edge, hope this helps & thanks for watching!

I must say, it is not often you find a new fishing technique that is as useful as this one. I believe using braid to connect treble hooks to lures could save losing lures as well as losing fish. There is no reason you could not use lighter braid on treble hooks to reduce losing lures. You can replace hooks lost from snagging cover and it would still be strong enough to land fish. There are few bass that could part 20-pound braid or for that matter 15-pound braid in lakes, I fish. I am sure going to try this when the ice melts. Thanks for the tip.

    In one hand.
+ You don't have to worry about rust or to replace swivel .
    + Better lure presentation.
    - More knots less power during fight.
    - Braid vs predators teeth nah.
    - Easier lose a dream fish this way.
    To the other hand.
    + Steel Swivel are stronger
+ no problem during fight or to lose a dream fish.
    + no problem with teeth.
    - presentation.
    - in salt water swivel will rust.
Overall.. hmm depends on the condition , of you are in the open sea using braid is bad idea to fish up a Tuna.
But if you do LRF for example or predators with not sharp teeth is good.

When using the savage gear hook with a split ring, do you have to worry about the braid working off the split ring? Seems like tying it yourself and leaving the split ring out is a better option.

Shawn Heap that was my first thought as well. Landed well over 100 fish on them now without loosing one so 🤷🏻‍♂️

is it okay for pike or muskie fishing? I feel like it would be on a swimbait where the hooks are close to the body keeping it away from teeth although I'm looking for input from anyone who's tried it before I might possibly leave a treble in a pikes mouth

I wonder how long the braid last before switching it out? I like the idea but the longevity is my main concern..

Nick if you want to control your Essential Tremors ask your doctor to prescribe Primidone and Gabapentin and these should settle down your tremors. Thanks for the tips. Tom

Someone should design a lure that already has swivel like hook connectors. That way it can turn forever. I'd buy
