- The 1969 Chevrolet Camaro built by Detroit Speed and debuted at the 2018 Detroit Autorama where it was chosen as one of the 2018 Great Eight finalist...The next big show it showed up to was the 2018 GoodGuy's PPG Nationals were it took home 2018 Street Machine of the year...That's where I caught up with this one of a kind 1969 Chevrolet Camaro built by Detroit Speed...In this video I talk with Chris from Detroit Speed on what makes this 1969 Camaro different from the rest that have been done over the years..
What He tells Me will blow your mind...For a car that still looks like what it did the day it was built...The subtle changes are to long to list in this description...As it was told to me...There is not one panel...Not one part on this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro that has not been modified...There are over 18,000 hours of work setting here....You do the math and at even the lowest of shop rates that still puts this car at over 1 million dollars...And of course since it is a Detroit Speed build.. it will not be a trailer queen...It's going to get used...I have some footage of it making it's laps for the 2018 GoodGuy's Street Machine of the year competition.. ..Let's just say....They weren't easy on it in anyway..Very cool build for sure...Make sure you check out this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro built by Detroit Speed...2018 Great eight winner and 2018 GoodGuy's Street Machine of the year...How cool is that!?!?!...

Glad You liked it Brother!!
All the Beautiful Camaro's out there can only compare to this work of ART you see here. Detroit Speed has raised the bar . No disrespect to any builders out there but this car for myself is what PERFECT means.
Thanks for checking it out here!
The stance is perfect! I love the flush mount windows with the oversized trim. Nice touch!
For sure!!
Scottie awesome for featuring this build im gonna share with my fans
Great...thank you!
This is one of if not the best 1969 Camaro I have ever seen.
I wouldn't argue that....But they can only be done so nice....only so much that can be done...so I still would not want to have to pick..
Mine is beter as its original with carby engine 😂
That one of the best looking Rides I’ve seen in a while! Very clean and slick looking! Thank you for sharing brother!
Your welcome 66...Glad you liked it Brother!!
Wow!! Thanks for sharing exclusive vids scottie, this car is way beyond the rest, out of Words, very beautiful camaro!!!
Your welcome Brother...Glad you enjoyed it!
A million dollar car based on the time it took to build. EVERYTHING is just so clean!
lol...Just in labor...I hear ya...very well put together...That's what you get a DSE...The bill maybe be high...But the job is done right and that is what people really want...Give them what they paid for and they will leave smiling...
ScottieDTV Met Kyle once at PRI. A real kool, humble guy.
I agree...Lot good people over at DSE...
definitely one of the best ever. beautiful. it is great having the builder talk about it, even if on the phone.
Glad you liked it!
Scottie I’m not complaining at all cause I love ur channel but I was wondering if u ever thought about going back to the old way u showed cars. It was a live interview and walk around the car. I seem to enjoy that format a little bit better. U probably have a reason for the way u do it but I’m just saying I like the old format a little better. Thanks and keep em coming, CYA!!!
Ant going to happen Brother...This is so much better....Hate you don't like it....But a lot of people do....The old way I would have not been able to shoot this video...or get this interview....I'm always working on making a better product...Maybe we will hit on something you enjoy again....
They never show trans & linkage
How do I shoot anymore angles than I do?
ScottieDTV You Can’t
When I subbed you this is the format I got & it's fine with me.
All I can say is Dangum Son! That thing is razor sharp!
lol....I hear ya!
Sleek Bold Awesome, what can you say it's a 69 Camaro! Slammed down Black Beauty. Interior rocks Wheels stick out Thanks for keeping the chrome! And thanks for showing us this baby.. Scottie NAILED IT!
Your welcome Brother...Glad You liked it!!
Another bad assed ride, now I’m gonna get me a cup of mud. Good job 👍.
Thank you...Glad you enjoyed it!!
BA 69 Camaro!! I saw it at the Detroit Autorama. Took a bunch of pics of it. Gawked at it for a while. BEAUTIFUL!! 😜
Thanks for checking it out here!
Always Scottie!🤘
Detroit Speed builds nice Camaros! Gotta love those first gen Camaros!
For sure!!
In 1979 I bought a 1968 SS 396 Camaro and a 1969 350 RS Camaro
Cool!
Absolutely stunning. Great video as always. If I’m doing my math correctly that’s $1,800,000 not including the parts. Ouch! Cool ride though!
Right on....2.3 million total is my guess...Glad You enjoyed the video Brother...Thanks for supporting what I do!!
It cost 2.3million too build this!?
I love my gen 5 SS but this thing leaves me speechless. If I could only win Powerball.
lol...I hear ya...
18,000 hours of labor by a $100.00 per hour works out to $1,800,000.00 in labor only
Is this a joke?... I'm sure the customer wasn't laughing when he saw the bill.🤣😂☺😑🤔
No joke...Not sure of DSE labor rate....But ya...something close to that...
Hard to find 100 a. hour labor
Several shops I cover are under that...But when your building to this level...It's not the rate that kills ya...It's the amount of hours...You might end up with...$10,000 in a hood...and then,,,throw it away and start over...When everything is one off....smh the price goes up quick....
So your telling me he spent $100 an hour for 18 Thousand Hours ? For a total of $1,800,000.00 in labor ?
The car is nice but but 18 Thousand Hours ?
Ufff!!!!!! that's a beautiful Camaro Scottie, Cool and great job!!!! Que hermoso Camaro Scottie, copado y un grandioso trabajo!!!!!!
Thank you...Glad you enjoyed it Brother!
I'll take two. C'mon lottery. Sweet, sweet car.
lol...Keep Me posted!!
There was a 68 Vette getting fitted up with a big block badass chevrolet engine at NRE last time I was there (last year) that I expected to see pictures of on the web (and your channel); but I haven't seen it on the show car circuit yet.
Awesome custom job, grey paint, tubbed, nice blend of custom/period correct interior + 1800 horse.
Fuel economy would not have been too flash, but accelration may have compensated for it.
If it's cool...I will find it...lol
Yes I know you will; that's why I mentioned it here.
This thing was the ultimate custom/restored Vette;.
No one was pulling away from you at the lights faster, unless you permitted it.
It had a dual fuel system just so you can access that extra 300HP over the standard fuel's capacity of 1500HP.
Engine, gearbox, and entire powertrain were immaculate with all the right names/brands; 10/10.
I don't know if I can find a photo of it, but if I can I will send it to you so you know what to look for.
Very well put together
For sure!!
Gorgeous car wicked build love all that custom work great job
Right on Pete...Me to!!
4:06 Did we catch you dozing off?🤔, I agree great format and interview!👍
Thank You!
WOW, IT REALLY GETS UP AND GO
lol..It does...
Beautiful car. There are some really talented car builders out there.
No doubt about it....
99% of us dont have that kind of money
lol...No we don't....But what's that have to do with the people that do?...I'm glad they spend it like this...
Hi Scottie,
How you're doing? Beautiful 69 Camaro. Remind me of Steve Alloway's style of custom motors.
Love your shows bro. Thanks for showing them.

Glad you liked it...
LOVE THE WHEELS TO
ScottieDTV, What a real Beauty.
I agree Brother!
What are the rear tail lights? Look amazing. Not a fan of LED but these look stunning
All I know is in the video...Sorry
LOVE THE FRONT END TO
Right on!
I LOVE THIS VIDEO
Thank you!
In the grand scheme of things, the owner...Stuart said this was a 13 year build. With that being said at 18,000 hours x an assumed $100/hr is $1.8 million. By the time you divide that by 13 years...it only comes to an average of $150k per year. That can easily be understandable when building a car. I don't have that kind of money, but I've sank $25k into a car in a year and it wasn't DSE quality or a big time shop. So, at $150k per year with custom parts, etc...$1.8 million doesn't seem so farfetched.
I cool with it!
AWESOME CAMARO
Nice ride
For sure!!
The car goes so fast just sitting still.
For sure...Thanks for checking it out!!!
Great car!!!
I agree!!
AWESOME INTERIOR TO
The owner and I went to high school together awesome guy.
Cool..Thanks for checking it out!!
@@ScottieDTV I enjoy your work, keep the good times rollin!
Awesome!!!
For sure!
Anybody notice the late model Mustang air conditioning vents in the dash? One off. However, beautiful car.
With a 69 camaro would I be bow to switch to automatic transmission instead of having manual how would I go about doing that
It's possible....
SWEET 👍👍
I agree!!!...lol
AWESOME MOTOR TO
What black is that? High gloss and smooth
All I know is in the video...
I never ask none of my business for real it's worth what you want to spend
Right on Brother...None of my business..I'm glad they spend it like this..lol
Nice.
I agree!
Was this orginally an SS?
All I know is in the video...There may be more info on their website...
While I love the car, it is Black. Dang
If you can afford 18,000 hours of labor...You can afford someone to keep it clean...lol
Too many black cars
True, if you liked black. I have lived in the southwest heat to long to ever have any black car, but on the other hand it could be repainted! LOL
Mike
Sure....
Where's the luv it button
lol..I hear ya!
I get asked all time how much for rollstera build 50.000 just to start it going to be more cars unpredictable
Yes they are....
What’s the cost bottom line ?
Couple of million....
@@ScottieDTV Seriously?
A GIRL CATCHING CAMARO
lol...For sure!
Hey y'all
Hey!
I LOVE THE LEATHER IN THIS CAMARO
For sure!
Such a lovely car, but interior dosent do it justice really
Works for me....
Daaaaaayum beautiful Beast!!!! But who are 8 idiots that hit thumbs down?? 😂 😂 😂
lol..Glad you liked it!
these cars cost almost a million to build. Then 10 years later they sell for 50k.lol
They are not investments....They are Hot Rods...lol
No Kidding There is a sucker born every day, this what my dad usesed to say Hmm ?
Brother...Your welcome to your opinion but I have never heard a DSE custom that complained of the cost...It may not be for you...It's out of my price range for sure..But there are no suckers here...And DSE is a well respected company...Just enjoy the work...or don't,,,But don't come on here and start running your mouth
Nothing Against you Scottie enjoy your show not trying to trash talk your site Keep on keeping on bro
Bad A**
For sure!
Hard put in words sometimes build not Express enough
And the total cost of custom build was?
Edward Alamo I'm not the builder i estimate 150.000
Your missing a zero Brother....18,000 x just $50 a hr...And I'm pretty sure DSE hourly is a little higher than that....it would be $900,000...Just in labor....It's one of those things in life...If you have to ask....You can't afford it....But on the other hand..It's just money and what else are you going to do with a whole crap ton of it...lol...Looks like they did just fine!
No idea....But it's well over a million with just some quick math...
